A word from 4th & Swift
Atlanta chef, Jay Swift, brings his passion and creative interpretation of seasonal comfort food to 4TH & Swift. Occupying the space that was formerly the engine room to Southern Dairies, the restaurant retains many of the original elements. Exposed brick, concrete and beams are
updated with contemporary accents such as warm woods, rich fabrics and brushed white metals.

At 4th & Swift, Chef/Owner Jay Swift has created a new level in the evolution of the dining scene here in Atlanta. Jay’s culinary focus is one based on the advancement of Southern cuisine; for Jay Southern is less about reinventing regional classics than inventing new ones using regional and local products.

  • "Celebrated my husband's birthday here with an early (6p.m.) reservation on a Sat. night. I chose this restaurant based on reviews and bloggers. From the moment we arrived, service was friendly, professional and prompt. We loved the Valet - a Georgia Tech engineering student. As recommended, the Octopus appetizer was outstanding! Each of us selected different appetizers, entrees and desserts and all were delicious. Even after ordering desserts, the restaurant surprised my husband with a small birthday dessert plate complete with candle. We were looking for something relatively close to Georgia Tech because our son is a student there and we were picking him up. This was very convenient and made for a memorable evening. Will do again!"

  • "I went into the dining experience excited for the 'Three Little Piggies'. We started off with the octopus and calamari, and my gosh. The octopus was cooked to perfection, well prepared, it was delectable. The calamari was a pasta dish, very intriguing, well prepared, although I hoped for a small bit more of calamari. Perhaps this overhyped my excitement for the next dishes, because my three little piggies left me wanting for something else. Quite frankly, it was rather poor, the meat was not very tender (pretty tough) and aside from a small piece of sauce lined to the dishes' side that made the meat taste a bit better, it was fairly disappointing. Sticky toffee for dessert was a novel take, a bit weird but delicious. Drinks were excellent."

  • "Ended up here because first two choices of restaurants had no tables - and turned out to be a good thing. Overall the experience was most enjoyable. Thought the menu to be original and well done. The service was attentive, although the kitchen was obviously woefully behind in getting food on the tables. The waiter and manager acknowledged the delay. Our waiter was most helpful as one of the party had the prix fixe menu, with the other three opting for items off the menu. He managed to coordinate the differing courses, with everything coming together well."

  • "I have twice dined as a party of 4 recently where we all ordered the tasting menu with paired wines, and everyone was delighted both times. The price of $100 ($65 without the wines) is a a great value. We also love the outdoor dining, which is spacious, roofed and on a quiet parking lot. I suspect we will return often."

  • "This was our fifth or sixth visit to 4th and Swift plus we brought along out of town guests. As always, the food and service were exceptional! Our whole table ordered the Tasting Menu this time and we were stuffed at the end. Each dish was great. What we love most about this place is their willingness to tweak some of the plates to best suit our (my) picky palate. Even after forgetting to tell them of a shellfish allergy until the first dish arrived, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to cook another plate in fresh oil. Just cannot say enough good things about them and our server Payton was very patient and had a smile the whole time. Will definitely be back soon!"

  • "We went after viewing the Dream Cars exhibit at the High for an early dinner. The restaurant was not crowded, but the bar had quite a few patrons. We ordered the Heirloom Tomato salad - a huge yum! I had the vegetable plate - two of the four were outstanding - the succotash and the eggplant frittes. Other two ok, just not my cup of tea. We ordered wine by the glass recommended by the waiter. We did not like it (fizzy). He gladly exchanged it for the other label. Very good restaurant. Will return."

The menu was very well thought out and perfectly executed - everything was delicious. The drink menu is also outstanding.   • "My husband and I had a lovely date night at 4th and Swift. This was our third time at the restaurant and we have enjoyed every moment each time we visit. We had the cheese and meat plates to start, he ordered Three Little Pigs and I had the gnocchi, which was so soft it melted in my mouth. We finished the evening by sharing two desserts: the toffee pudding, which is divine, and the lemon cheesecake, which was kind of dry but came with a lemon sorbet that was a delight. Our service was fantastic and we were never rushed through our meal."

  • "until the desserts came. I'm not a meat eater so I couldn't sample the calamari, and other appetizers my family enjoyed. But I had a great, fresh, salad and spicy lentils for my meal. Although, I'm off sugar...I am only human. We decided next visit we'll have the peach cobbler for an appetizer, the sticky toffee pudding for our meal, and the lemon ice cream for dessert. As a plus...shhhhh...one of the waitresses makes these incredible paper sculptures she "hides" around the restaurant for patrons to find. My 20-year old daughter found one that had been sitting there for months. Let's just say it made both her and the waitress very, very happy. I'd highly recommend this gem."

  • "4th & Swift needs to be on your "restaurant bucket list" for Atlanta. Jay Swift brings innovative cooking with constant reminders of our southern roots. We went on Father's Day and they had a special menu (which is a pet peeve of mine). One of the dishes was a southern field pea minestrone. They also had a grilled peach salad. Both were very good. I much prefer the regular menu and was disappointed they didn't offer that the day we were there. Be sure to go when it isn't a special day like Mother's Day, Father's Day or Valentines so you can get the full experience."

(Will add it to my "worth the drive" list). The food was phenomenal, fresh and perfectly seasoned. We all enjoyed our meals tremendously. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere whether enjoying a romantic dinner for two, sealing a business deal, or just a nice evening out with friends."

  • "Hadn't been to 4th & Swift in some time and chose it because my experience had always been one of excellent ingredients creatively prepared and presented, but not overly fussy, and priced accordingly. That was not the case this time. A 3 scallop entrée for $32 borders on a rip off. The tasting menu was interesting, but the butter-poached lobster was rubbery. The wine pairings were excellent, though at $35 for what probably totaled 10 oz. of wine, is also overpriced. I would now categorize 4th & Swift as an expense-account restaurant."
