Atlanta chef, Jay Swift, brings his passion and creative interpretation of seasonal comfort food to 4TH & Swift. Occupying the space that was formerly the engine room to Southern Dairies, the restaurant retains many of the original elements. Exposed brick, concrete and beams are updated with contemporary accents such as warm woods, rich fabrics and brushed white metals. At 4th & Swift, Chef/Owner Jay Swift has created a new level in the evolution of the dining scene here in Atlanta. Jay’s culinary focus is one based on the advancement of Southern cuisine; for Jay Southern is less about reinventing regional classics than inventing new ones using regional and local products.Continued

The servers are very knowledgeable when it comes to explaining the process of a particular dish or making a wine recommendation. Not the oft-used "everything on the menu is good" comment but they'll always tell you their favorites and the reason. Chef Jay Swift and his team have created an awesome restaurant. Whenever anyone asks for restaurant recommendations my #1 response is always 4th & Swift."

  • "My first experience at the restaurant was exceptional. This, my second, was good, but not great. The waiter informed us they were '"transitioning from the red snapper on the menu to trout." Then they were out of the wine we ordered and were "transitioning" to one the waiter recommended, which incidentally was quite good. We received the cheese tray to share among the four of us at the same time we received our individual soups and salads."

  • "My wife and I were in Atlanta for a wedding and discovered 4th and Swift through OpenTable. It was a great suggestion. It's a cool physical space and has valet parking. The service and food were excellent. The restaurant sources many local suppliers which is great. It also changes its menu frequently as a consequence. Everything we had was really good and very nicely presented. It was just a really good restaurant experience."

It was delicious. The service was great and attentive. My friend and I had a great time. We were seated in a 2 person booth that had a link to the bar. The ambience was great. I really enjoyed it overall."

Our favorite part of the meal was the chocolate semifreddo dessert served with ice cream -- my husband loved the semifreddo and the coffee ice cream was the best I've ever had."

  • "We were asked by management to give them a second chance after a bad 1st experience (see 2/15/14 review). We were told we would be well taken care of and boy did they deliver. From greetings at the door to a private booth seat, from phenomenal wine, food and a cappuccino to exceptional service by busboys, food runners and our waitress Bethany to periodic check-ins by the manager Julie herself, we were wined and dined, service with a smile. We felt genuinely welcome, timing of dishes (I had the chef's tasting which I highly recommend if you are able) was perfect and the dishes were explained nicely. I can't say enough about how great the experience was. The food is seasonal, inventive and delicious. It was a great special night out."

I ordered Red snapper as my main dish ans brussel sprouts on the side. Red snapper was fresh and cooked just right. The 'thyme' flavored ice cream was unique and was good. Never thought anyone will put thyme in icecream. My guest also enjoyed the dinner"

  • "I have been planning on dining at 4th and Swift for a year. Got a reservation last weekend. I eat a vegetarian diet and was glad to see the vegetable plate offered on the menu. I usually just ask to have a vegetable medley made for me. I chose 4 of the 5 options. When the food finally came, I couldn't eat three of the dishes brought to me. When I sent them back to the kitchen, I was told by an employee that I was right, they weren't good, she had tasted them. Wondering why that wasn't performed prior to serving - but you can't taste everything. I was then offered another dish. I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes at this point (10pm) and declined. Of course they removed it from my check, but I left hungry and disappointed."

But I really miss the corn soup they used to have on the menu. Wish Chef would reconsider and bring that back. The brussel sprout salad was by far my favorite small dish and the potato gnocchi was good, with perfect sauce, but the potatoes could have been excluded. It's a pricey place good for a big night out (or a business man's night out as most people were in suits). Great service, food, and wine made for a splendid meal."

  • "I was in Atlanta for the weekend and found this place through the 50 Best Restaurants of Atlanta review... I was absolutely blown away by every single thing. Our waiter Lily was super smart and guided us through the menu, the wine and our after-dinner destination. I had the Octopus appetizer and the seafood was so fresh and so well cooked, I thought I was back home in Boston! Everything about this place ooozes class, elegance and 'the best'."
