A word from 4th & Swift
Atlanta chef, Jay Swift, brings his passion and creative interpretation of seasonal comfort food to 4TH & Swift. Occupying the space that was formerly the engine room to Southern Dairies, the restaurant retains many of the original elements. Exposed brick, concrete and beams are
updated with contemporary accents such as warm woods, rich fabrics and brushed white metals.

At 4th & Swift, Chef/Owner Jay Swift has created a new level in the evolution of the dining scene here in Atlanta. Jay’s culinary focus is one based on the advancement of Southern cuisine; for Jay Southern is less about reinventing regional classics than inventing new ones using regional and local products.

I only recommend this restaurant if you are not too hungry since the portions are minuscule, and even the entree comes across as an appetizer. What rescued me was the superb and delicious sourdough bread from their own kitchen.

We went to 4th & Swift due to their participation in the PB&J For Good Campaign. None of the 9 people in our group had been before. Everything was great....food...service, etc.. The peanut butter ice cream sandwich they made for the event was incredible. We will definitely be back. Hopefully very soon!

Spur of the moment attendant, the menu is limited, but what they do have is very tasty. Very extensive wine list but small food portions. Great service, complimentary valet, ideal for intimate dates. Simple decor: painted white brick walls with minimal wall hangings and exposed roof. The pecan pudding dessert is exquisite!

We went here for our 9th wedding anniversary. We have been meaning to try it for a while but had to change plans a few times so we were glad to finally get here. It was worth the wait! My husband got the tasting menu and it was delicious. We don't go to many restaurants twice because there's always another one to try but this is definitely on our list to go back to.

The Ms. And I enjoyed another great time at 4th & Swift. I had my favorite, the duck, and she had a veggie plate. Both were good and the service was excellent, critical since we had some place to go. BTW, the Apple dessert (actual name escapes me) was incredible!

  • Great Dinner before the Fox

    Dined on 9/23/2014
We were late for our reservations therefore we were pressed to make it to the Fox on time. Our server heard us talking about it and said he would make sure we did. We had a wonderful, unrushed dinner that let us enjoy what 4th and Swift has to offer even if it wasnt as leisurely as we prefer to dine out. I will be returning when I can sit back and enjoy it even more. The small plates were FANTASTIC! one note I will make - this is on the hostesses - if there are only a few patrons in the restaurant dont seat us ALL together when you have plenty of staff to serve various areas of the restaurant.

I will start off noting that the food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. That being said, I was disappointed by the service. We had a 7:30PM reservation and showed up at 7PM to have a drink at the bar. Before heading to the bar we checked in with the hostess to notify her we were here and will be at the bar. A large party showed up around 7:30, approximately 20 people, and I noticed this so I went up to the hostess to remind her of our reservation so that we could sit and order before the large party. She asked if we had a reservation, after we had already checked in with her, and were then seated after the large party. Due to this, it took an hour from when we were seated to when we received our appetizers.

My husband and I recently visited 4th and Swift during a weekend away in Atlanta. We are from NE Tennessee, but travel to Atlanta several times a year for business and leisure. We are always looking for new food and dining experiences and were very pleased with our visits here. The service is more than exceptional and the food is phenomenal! On out last trip the server recommended a special dish not listed on the menu called "The Enforcer". I am not a fan of grits, but this was amazing!! I hope it becomes part of the permanent brunch menu! We also tried a various selection of sides and the Brioche French Toast, which also did not disappoint. We will be making 4th and Swift a regular stop on all of our trips to Atlanta.

What a great find! I will definitely be back for brunch, and I look forward to trying dinner. I love the brunch special. For $20 you get three courses (can include mimosa). The bread/pastry basket is also amazing. You get a pile of wonderful breads and pastries that are really fresh. Great for friends or relatives, but a little crowded for a romantic/private evening. The tables are a little close together.

My husband and I invited some friends to have dinner with us at 4th and Swift on Saturday night and I have to recommend my praises to the chef! We took advantage of the restaurant week special menu and were extremely pleased. 2 of us had the salmon entree and 2 had the pork entree and both were very good. I especially loved the salmon dish. The little peas and beans mixed in with the pearl cous cous was out of this world. Salmon cooked to perfection and delicious. I'm glad they made a decision to showcase some of their best ! Kudos to them. Our service with Maria was wonderful too. We'll be back!

We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was on this first visit. We both selected the "Midtown Restaurant Week" menu. Entree's (trout, best ever, and pork loin) were great. The highlights however, were the corn soup AND the sticky toffee dessert. OUTSTANDING! Would definitely start and finish with both of these on a return visit!!

6 of us had dinner with you last Fri. night during Restaurant week. I had read about 4th and Swift but had never been so this seemed to be the most perfect opportunity. One of our group had a most perfect martini, I had the wine pairings which were just perfect and our server Kara explained and answered all questions from the wine list. She was a very good server, one of the best I have encountered. She always had a smile, explained everything, was patient and efficient. All of our courses were delivered to the 6 of us at the same time and we were not hurried. This type of consistency at a restaurant is a rare thing but most enjoyable and we want to go back even though it takes us an hour to get there.

We came for brunch a few months ago and didn't think it was anything special and so glad we decided to give it one more try for dinner. The portions were great and well balanced in flavor and texture. We did the wine pairing as well and would run back for more if they did this again. I had the trout and other had the pork. Both cooked beautifully and service was great as well. We are definitely fans now and will be back!

We had a wonderful, inventive price fixed meal including the optional wine parings for an additional $15--well worth it. The sweet corn soup with chorizo and shrimp appetizer was superb, the trout entree excellent. The wood roasted pork loin was perfectly cooked with a smoky essence, but could have used a little more spicy mole sauce to ramp up the one dimensional flavor. The sticky toffee pudding was perfect--quite sweet, but that is how I like my desserts.

Old Forth ward in Atlanta is enjoying a new lease of life and restaurants like 4th & Swift are a key foundation to the success. I could not believe the restaurant had been there for 6 years but like any restaurant good enough to stand the test of time in Atlanta, 4th & Swift managed the rush of Midtown Restaurant Week like any seasoned pro. Superb service, amazing food, and great ambiance all delivered seamlessly as it has clearly been done so many times before. We will certainly return and spread the word.
