A word from 4th & Swift
Atlanta chef, Jay Swift, brings his passion and creative interpretation of seasonal comfort food to 4TH & Swift. Occupying the space that was formerly the engine room to Southern Dairies, the restaurant retains many of the original elements. Exposed brick, concrete and beams are
updated with contemporary accents such as warm woods, rich fabrics and brushed white metals.

At 4th & Swift, Chef/Owner Jay Swift has created a new level in the evolution of the dining scene here in Atlanta. Jay’s culinary focus is one based on the advancement of Southern cuisine; for Jay Southern is less about reinventing regional classics than inventing new ones using regional and local products.

Diner Reviews
  • "This place is great. We live so close, and just now got over there. Glad we did"

  • "It was our first time at 4th & Swift (we make a point of trying new, interesting restaurants since moving to Atlanta ~3 years ago). We were delighted with the service, food, and ambience. Will definitely make it one of our regular places places, especially for entertaining out-of-town guests."

  • "My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Great meal and a great way to spend an evening."

  • "Brunch was very nice. The food was just ok but it was nice to sit on the patio and it was quiet."

  • "Superb Service and excellent food, wine, and specialty drinks. It is has been added to my Top 5 Restaurants to suggest to my clients."

  • "This was not my 1st time dining at 4th and Swift, but my 1st time for Sunday afternoon brunch/lunch. I was looking forward to delicious fresh local menu, fit for foodies, but the kitchen was so slow, it made the experience unbearable. The rating for service is a result of the kitchen. The front staff and our waiter were very attentive and apologized profusely, but that didn't help fill the hole. We did devour all the pastries, which were delicious. Our party was celebrating special occasions, so the waiter did make an extra effort to acknowledge that with a shared petite dessert."

  • "We went for our Anniversary, and enjoyed 4ths Sunday brunch. Delicious food, and excellent service. Relaxed yet refined. Lovely place!"

  • "We went out as a family and really enjoyed our 4th and Swift experience. We had a great waitstaff that was knowledgable and helpful. The food was good on all levels from appetizers to desserts. We will be back."

  • "The food is always fresh and perfectly prepared, service is the best, ambiance, everything. The servers are very knowledgeable when it comes to explaining the process of a particular dish or making a wine recommendation. Not the oft-used "everything on the menu is good" comment but they'll always tell you their favorites and the reason. Chef Jay Swift and his team have created an awesome restaurant. Whenever anyone asks for restaurant recommendations my #1 response is always 4th & Swift."

  • "My first experience at the restaurant was exceptional. This, my second, was good, but not great. The waiter informed us they were '"transitioning from the red snapper on the menu to trout." Then they were out of the wine we ordered and were "transitioning" to one the waiter recommended, which incidentally was quite good. We received the cheese tray to share among the four of us at the same time we received our individual soups and salads."

  • "My wife and I were in Atlanta for a wedding and discovered 4th and Swift through OpenTable. It was a great suggestion. It's a cool physical space and has valet parking. The service and food were excellent. The restaurant sources many local suppliers which is great. It also changes its menu frequently as a consequence. Everything we had was really good and very nicely presented. It was just a really good restaurant experience."

  • "We went to celebrate last Sunday. We arrived early, 5:45, and had the chefs menu with wine accompaniment. Our server was perfect, and the food paired excellently with the wines. Definatrly worth the splurge."

  • "Love this place. Bethany is the best waitress anywhere. Superb food and service."

  • "We were party of 9, and had nice table reserved for us! Wine list were amazing, and the food was amazing! I loved the variety of large plates and appetizers were good too!"
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "As always the food was extremely well done. Unfortunately I decided to do the chefs tasting and wine pairing. Two of the courses the wine came more than half way into the course. Disappointing merely from the fact it was a wine with course pairing from the start."

  • "It was good but expensive. Our waiter was nice. The tables are close together."

  • "Interesting spot to have a nice meal! Food was very good with an ample wine list. Chef had a tasty pairing menu, if you so choose. Waiter had no clue--didn't know the wine list, the menu, poor attentiveness. Might have just been our bad luck to get him. Ambience was an interesting mix-everything from jeans to evening dresses. Thumb up but just one."

  • "I went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. We both ordered the chef's tasting menu dinner. They were very nice to accommodate my request to sub out the strip loin for the bass. It was delicious. The service was great and attentive. My friend and I had a great time. We were seated in a 2 person booth that had a link to the bar. The ambience was great. I really enjoyed it overall."

  • "My husband and I dined at 4th & Swift to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed the food and wine, and the service was excellent. Our favorite part of the meal was the chocolate semifreddo dessert served with ice cream -- my husband loved the semifreddo and the coffee ice cream was the best I've ever had."

  • "We were asked by management to give them a second chance after a bad 1st experience (see 2/15/14 review). We were told we would be well taken care of and boy did they deliver. From greetings at the door to a private booth seat, from phenomenal wine, food and a cappuccino to exceptional service by busboys, food runners and our waitress Bethany to periodic check-ins by the manager Julie herself, we were wined and dined, service with a smile. We felt genuinely welcome, timing of dishes (I had the chef's tasting which I highly recommend if you are able) was perfect and the dishes were explained nicely. I can't say enough about how great the experience was. The food is seasonal, inventive and delicious. It was a great special night out."

  • "I have heard about 4th and Swift for quite some time. I live in the neighborhood and shamefully this was my first trip. It was perfect. I was with friends but cannot wait to go back with my husband."

  • "From the calamari and shrimp appetizer to the lime pudding cake dessert, our dining experience was fantastic! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary on a Wednesday night, and the staff was pleasant and courteous, making great suggestions for wine and dinner. We had driven from North Georgia for the evening and the experience was worth every mile! Absolutely delectable..."

  • "The food was fine, different but not outstanding. We had bad service. We believe it was the waiter and not the full restaurant staff."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Amazing Food, Service, and Ambiance. The chef's tasting menu was amazing with the paired foods and wine...Waiter staff knows their menu and even suggested a drink that was out of this world. This restaurant is definitely a must here in the ATL!"

  • "I was pleasantly surprised that interior of the restaurant was nicer than the exterior of the building. The menu was very interesting with some original combination of food. I ordered Red snapper as my main dish ans brussel sprouts on the side. Red snapper was fresh and cooked just right. The 'thyme' flavored ice cream was unique and was good. Never thought anyone will put thyme in icecream. My guest also enjoyed the dinner"

  • "I have been planning on dining at 4th and Swift for a year. Got a reservation last weekend. I eat a vegetarian diet and was glad to see the vegetable plate offered on the menu. I usually just ask to have a vegetable medley made for me. I chose 4 of the 5 options. When the food finally came, I couldn't eat three of the dishes brought to me. When I sent them back to the kitchen, I was told by an employee that I was right, they weren't good, she had tasted them. Wondering why that wasn't performed prior to serving - but you can't taste everything. I was then offered another dish. I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes at this point (10pm) and declined. Of course they removed it from my check, but I left hungry and disappointed."

  • "A true dining pleasure. Warm, comfortable, chic feel to this place. The food was outstanding and shockingly large portions for a place of this caliber. An absolute must do in Atlanta."

  • "I've been four times and it is still a great place. Consistency is important to me. Love the octupus and crispy brussel sprouts salad. But I really miss the corn soup they used to have on the menu. Wish Chef would reconsider and bring that back. Also, terrific mixology - esp w/our classic cocktails (4 roses manhattan and Uncle Vals martini). Thanks- Maria B."

  • "Duck breast was like a beef filet, excellent place to take multiple friends or a date night, loved it!"
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Every small plate we tried was truly delicious. The brussel sprout salad was by far my favorite small dish and the potato gnocchi was good, with perfect sauce, but the potatoes could have been excluded. It's a pricey place good for a big night out (or a business man's night out as most people were in suits). Great service, food, and wine made for a splendid meal."

  • "My wife and I have been to 4th and Swift for the last 2 years regularly. Since our last visit, they cut portion sizes dramatically and kept the price the same. The food was lack luster, but the bread pudding was still excellent. The waiter belonged at the beach not this restaurant."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "We started with the brussel sprouts and ended with the chocolate and coffee dessert. He had the trout and I had the red snapper. Their menu changes every week and everything looked good so we'll have to go back. Nice experience."
