Diner Reviews
  • "Had a great first date there. The drinks were very good. The servers were a little pushy with ordering things. I felt rushed and pressured in a way, but I still had a nice time."

  • "Lounge 48 is a great place for adults who are not into the club scene but still want to have a good time. The atmosphere was classy but still trendy. The DJ played great music. Overall, we had a fabulous time!"

  • "48 Lounge is ALWAYS great. Best original cocktails, by far, than I've found in other bars and restaurants in Manhattan. Definitely pricey in terms of cocktails, but it's worth it if you can afford to try this place. Food is always excellent and fairly priced! Great place for a birthday, etc."

  • "My husband and I went out for drinks after seeing a Broadway Show. The venue is upscale and modern with a selection of unique cocktails."

  • "We ordered the surf and turf and the stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms and lobster were great but the steak was tough and definitely was not filet. The service was awful.... I think all the wait staff was wasted. The forgot out order multiple times and the drinks were watered down. Disappointing overall."

  • "great small plate food...good strong drinks...but best part of place is service...it is a collaborative staff that are ultra friendly and extremely attentive...you will feel like a vip..."

  • "Perfect Lounge with good attendance and Musics, as well as good wine and finger foods."

  • "I had a great time. Service was amazing. What annoyed me a little was that even though I was spending a decent amount of money, I was still charged for some extra bread to eat the food that was too much for the bread provided. And they served us a dessert (that we didn't order) for an occasion but still charged us for it. Its not the $ amount but the gesture. The best restaurants offer such services complimentary especially when guests are already spending a significant amount of money. It isn't about the money. It is about being charged for it - makes you feel less like the restaurant is doing something special as part of the occasion - i.e. good customer service which pays dividends down the line. But otherwise service & food was great!"

  • "We picked the 48 Lounge because of its beautiful decor. We were expecting to have a very relaxed night out with some friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. What we did not expect was that the DJ would be so good. People started dancing and before you know it, it was a full out party! Even if you are the type of person who does not like clubs, you could still continue to relax and have your conversation with your friends with no interference. Just the perfect atmosphere. Mike the manager, and the waiting staff was very accommodating; they made sure that we had everything we needed. My lady loved her birthday and everyone went home happy."

  • "Staff treated as though we were special. Made for a great time. Enjoyed meeting new friends and shared the experience before going to the theatre. Next time we're on New York, we'll definitely be back. Aloha from Hawaii!"

  • "Went to 48 Lounge on a Wednesday night with a group of 6. All of the food was delicious and I would recommend everything we ordered, the only downside being the small portions. We ordered the Tater Tots, Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip, Miso Pulled Pork Sliders, Chicken Burgers “CLT”, Filet Mignon Sliders, Pesto Pizza and the Roasted Tomato and Chorizo Pizza. The service was great, my sister ordered a drink she did not like and the staff took back the drink and removed the charge from our bill. The music was loud making it difficult to have a conversation but otherwise I recommend 48 Lounge."

  • "the Tapas-style lounge is a hit or miss. My pesto pizza was good, but only one side of it was cooked properly. the wait staff were good and our waitress very friendly and attentive. My friends enjoyed their olives, chicken skewers and beef sliders, but again, the food was only "good." The tapas are reasonably priced but the drinks is where this place makes their money. some drinks are outrageously over-priced. I just wish when I had walked in that the music playing was appropriate for the vibe. It apparently WANTS to be a lounge, but when you're blasting 80's music on a Friday night in this area of NYC, it just leaves something to be desired..."
