44 1/2 Hell's Kitchen
Must TryOne of my favorite brunch spots in HK. The food is great, the waiters are cute, and the Bloody Mary's are fantastic. What more could you want? Very nice outdoor garden space in the rear is perfect for a Spring or Summer outing with friends. Reasonable prices and good portions.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Gem for Brunch44 1/2 is a great place for bunch in NYC. Other than pricey drinks, this place has great food choices that are tasty. The service is the best, but I do think they need to mix it up as far as their staff (i.e. women, ethnicity); it should match the clientele. No complaints about their service though; the guys are a lot of fun. We had the best table for four. We were inside next to the door going out to the patio, which offered the perfect breeze, but we didn't have to sit in the sun outside.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love 441/2. Food, staff,We love 441/2. At 6PM on a Sunday the restaurant was pretty quiet but we were greeted warmly and not rushed at all. Our waiter, Hector, was helpful and we didn't find the various T-shirts off-putting at all as some have suggested. Portions were large, but not crazy and my steak was cooked perfectly. My wife's crab cake was all crab with no stuffing. We will definitely go back.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMReally great experience forReally great experience for a friends Birthday Brunch. An unexpected perk was the delicious mini fruit salad on the plate. Normally, I would assume it was an afterthought purely for decoration, but in this case, someone actually put some effort into it, and it was delicious. Cute waiters, friendly service, and a lovely room in the back for private parties.
