There was a wide variety of brunch items from which to choose, including some lovely asian dishes not typically available at brunch. The staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. We will definitely go there again.

A typical bistro in a hotel. It's convient if you're staying at the hotel. There is no reason to seek it out. As my mother says, "well, it fills the hole," and that about sums it up.

We did not actually end up eating here. We did go, and we sat down, but (a) the full menu was not available, and (b) the restaurant just seemed sort of sad and awkward, with almost no one else there, so we ended up leaving and going elsewhere.

food was terrible. the bacon crumbled to pieces with the touch of the tongs it was so overcooked. servers were nice though, which made up for the eggs swimming in broth. for the prices versus quality, the breakfst should at least be complimentary.

All and all, food was eh, service was nice, zero ambiance. My husband had a burger which looked like it was the safest option for him, and I had the 'gnudi'. It was a richer version of a gnochi like dish, but I only ate half. If this restaurant wants to do more than one table a night I would suggest a healthier more appealing menu. For the price versus the quality, I should have gotten 1000 points from Open Table for booking here. I wish I could have rated the desert, but they were out of the first two options I chose so we skipped it. As for ambiance, it was nice inside but cold due to the lack of patrons-we were the only table the whole time. Mark took good care of us though, which is the reason I gave this place 3 stars over 2.

  • Better last year for Easter Brunch
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 4/8/2012
This is a mixed review since I've had better experiences at The Cabana Hotel for Easter brunch before. This year the dining room seemed under staffed, the food was good but not replenished promptly when gone, and the coffee wasn't very good (served luke warm & tasted stale). Our server was nice; however, she seemed too busy to handle our party of 7's needs. I asked other servers for assistance & got no where (one didn't seem to understand my request & the other said I wasn't sitting in her section so she couldn't help me). One nice new addition this year was a visit from Mr. & Mrs. E Bunny and an egg hunt for the kiddos. Note: eggs were set out before the scheduled "hunt" & older kids got most of them before lil' ones could get any. :-(

A little pricey, but then, this was an Easter brunch with many, many yummy dishes offered. We had a wonderful time, with something there for everyone: children, their parents, and grandparents. The servers were warm and helpful. The champagne was perfect--not fancy, but light, the kind of sparkly that goes with everything and leaves you wanting more. I could have eaten all day--too bad there was no room for more! I do not know what this restaurant has to offer on a normal day, but I always love their special brunches.

Dined for Christmas day brunch. Was seated promptly. Very good selection and quality of food available at the brunch. Background piano music very nice. Nice, very well stocked, specially setup kids' level brunch buffet table. A few down-sides that stood out were: water glasses never filled, or even offered to be filled. Champagne brunch required that we request the champagne, midway thru the brunch. Awkwardly waited for some of the staff to fill their plates on occasion at the buffet... After the automatic 18% tip added to our party of 6, ended up being just shy of $60 per person. I might go back, but am definitely open to alternatives for a special brunch buffet.

  • Mother's Day brunch at 4290 Bistro
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 5/8/2011
This was a Mother's Day brunch. They elected to use the hotel's Grand Ballroom and seat several hundred guests at a time. Food was good, noise was almost overwhelming. Ambiance left much to desire. They added a 20% gratuity as part of the bill. I think that's a lot of nerve for a buffet.

  • Even Better Than Expected

4290 Bistro's Easter Sunday brunch was very good. Except for the crab which had been frozen, was cold, wet, tasteless, and had been virtually smashed, everything else was above expectations. The buffet selection was extensive; the meats were very tender and well-prepared; the oysters were already loosened from their shells; the salads and deserts were numerous and equally tasteful. We also had exceptional waitpersons which made the dining even more pleasant. While the J.Roget champagne wasn't the best, just being able to have as much as we wished was much appreciated. As seniors we got our meal at a reduced price and felt we definitely got our money's worth. We'll be back.

We thought we would give it a chance. While the cut of meat was very good, it wasn't hot. Everything was notably bland. What they were attempting to pass off as bruschetta wasn't even close. Service was very slow. They weren't busy, which should have been a sign. Menu looks nice and reads well but don't be fooled.
