The menu of renowned Chef Jimmy Martinez features California Cantina cuisine – the true essence of using only the freshest locally sourced, organic, and seasonal ingredients. The menu features an extensive ceviche bar, delectable fresh salads, and only the finest cuts of seafood and meats grilled in a cheery open kitchen and served on 500 degree cast iron skillets.

In addition to an extensive selection of California and International wines, 41 Ocean’s vintage cocktail bar is the ideal spot to savor a delicious crafted cocktail prepared by our expert mixologists.

Located at 1541 Ocean Avenue, directly across from the Santa Monica Pier, we are open to the Public for Lunch and Dinner service daily.

  • "Tables are small and awkward, and it feels like a cafeteria-style setting. Needs more intimate space--booths?? Feels like it's trying to be romantic but the setting doesn't allow. Desserts are terrible. Fire the pastry chef. Some of the menu items are indeed tasty, but the overall experience needs help."

  • "Last week, everything was great.....including the Chef deep frying some oysters for us. This visit - they refuse to deep fry any oysters; the waiter pointed out that there were oysters on the half shell and the oyster taco but they could not deep fried half a dozen oysters for us. The fryer is there already and I don't like raw oysters so why not???"

  • "I had been wanting some deep fried oysters for some times now so we asked the waitress if the chef would make half a dozen for us. She came back to deliver the good news that our oysters would be out soon. When the oysters came out there were more than half a dozen and it was delicious. Our night was complete. The service was great, the decor was lovely and we liked everything we ordered."

  • "My Fiance' and I went to 41 Ocean for Valentines day and had an amazing time, there biscutt was the most amazing thing i have had as bread service in a long time. we had a window seat and even though there was a street between us and the ocean, it was a very romantic view of the sunset. once the sunset, the room was lit by candel light and they even had a heating unit to keep us warm. fresh rose petals on the table and a orchid flower was a nice touch. good soft music. The Food was extrodinary and great portions, (try the Truffled Pom Frits) pricing wasnt economical but you get what you paid for. Our server was very attentive until we were done, took us forever to get the check but didnt mind. Would absolutly recomend to everyone"

  • "It was Dine LA last week and my friend and I wanted to treat ourselves to a girls' night. Our mistake in choosing this place. The appetizers were mediocre. We got the kale salad and lamb meatballs but nothing special for the price. The main courses were inedible. She ordered the beef stroganoff & I ordered the spaghetti squash. The beef stroganoff was too sweet, the spaghetti squash w/pesto had no flavor (how you can mess up pesto sauce). It was just not worth the calories to eat - THAT AWFUL. Next came desert, one which was amazing (the buttercakes). We also got an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that was so hard & dry. Why wouldn't you serve this warm? Couldn't eat that either! $75/ea for this = :( No wonder the place was so empty."

  • "From the online buzz, I expected a better experience. The waiter made several errors, which he owned, but they affected my meal. this said, the food we did get was quite good, and the price point fair. For those reasons, I might try it again, to give hem another chance."

  • "I chose this place from Open Table, as I had to arrange a Dinner with a friend in the Santa Monica Area, and don't know the neighbourhood well at all. I had eaten in the Private Members Club 41 Ocean, and liked the food and ambience then, so I thought I would try this. It was a Tuesday Night, at 7.30pm, and the restaurant was empty with the exception of a table of 6 or 8 people, which made it feel a little cold, even though I could tell that this place would be really cozy and romantic with a few more people to populate it! Our Server was very attentive and had a good knowledge of the menu, however the food was just, OK in my opinion - rather bland and for the price, wasn't worth it."

  • "First note - I plan to return soon. Second - poor service due to no apparent management present. Servers disappeared. The food was excellent except for one thing, the fish stew in which the octopus was rubbery, both mussels and clams over cooked and the crab tasted like it has been sitting waiting for days. Skip it. The swordfish was wonderful, very nicely done. The appetizers of oysters (very nice and very fresh), chorizo mussels (wow - I will go back just for these) and boar bellies (wonderful) were all top level and different enough to be special. Menu mistake, the least expensive steak was $62, with the alternative being $110. Really? When all your other dishes are in the $20-30 range? Something off here. I am sure it will be fixed."

  • "They did a fabulous job on the style of this place. Beautiful decor. The service was great. Fresh baked biscuits were a hit. My husband enjoyed his Pork Chop and the other star dish was a Champagne Miso Seabass. The potato corn chowder was way too spicy, and my scallops were not impressive. Overall, it was a good experience. Great for young foodies. Not so good for people with diet restrictions."

  • "I took my boyfriend and parents here last Saturday night. It is a really great place. We all LOVED what we ate. The appetizers (wild boar sausage and eggs and the ahi special) were both so delicious. I shared a goat cheese and beet salad that was so flavorful - with little balls of goat cheese, arugula, pears (the good kind), and beets. For dinner I had the scallops, which were cooked to perfection. The boyfriend had lamb served rare, which was also perfectly cooked and tender. My dad's beef cheek stroganoff was sooo good, as was the sea bass. The only downsides were no fun cocktails menu (we were told it is still in the works) and the cheesecake was iffy. But the warm, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and ice cream were great!"

  • "Although the food was very good, it was expensive. The beverages (2 glasses of wine and one bottle of water) represented 85% of the cost of the food. We were charged $5.00 for bread which should have been free. The way the waiter asked us what kind of water we wanted, we supposed it was complimentary. We were charged $8.00 for sparkling water in-house made! The waiter told us the restaurant had just opened that week. Was it the reason why there were so few customers? There were only 2 other customers when we arrived which were replaced by 2 others by the time we left. I wish them good luck!"

  • "My friend and I go every Monday to Bamboo and are always treated with amazing service and fantastic food. The $18 Bento boxes are perfect for lunch. The word is not yet really out about this place, or it would be packed."
