  • "Stay away from the stark. Its gross. The 40/40 hot wings is the best. My waiter brought my credit card back with her own tip. Way more than she deserve. 25% that's crazy. I was on date so I didn't want to argue about why that much tip. Her name is Andrea. I will not go there again."

  • "Decided to go here for my birthday with a group of friends. I honestly was skeptical about going at first but it turned out being a blast for me. They made it feel special for me. The waiter that was helping my table was super cool and even danced with our table. I thought it was definitely an experience that I needed. I would definitely go back."

  • "It was my husbands 57th bday and I decided to try this spot for his bday. The best decision I could have made. My husband had a ball. A huge bball fan and this was the best place to watch the NCAA tournaments. TV screens everywhere. We even got a tour of tge place offered by our server. I was so impressed I'm considering renting a room for my 60th bday celebration in December if it's affordable. I think it will be though. We fell in love with this place. It's for ppl of all ages and professions. Good job JayZ! You won us over. Going back next month. Lol"

  • "I noted "celebrating husband's birthday" in my Open Table reservation. Upon arrival, we gave the hostess our name who immediately shouted "Happy Birthday". It would be unfitting to call our "guy" (Matt), a server. Our "guy" Matt, told us about the club, gave us a little tour (since it was not so crowded at the time). Made sure our glasses were never empty. 90% of our 5-Star rating is because of his excellent service. We ordered a bottle of cognac (can't remember the name). We also ordered the blackened salmon, which came with a small dish of lobster sauce. Was pretty good, could have used a bit of salt. But yummy. We were there for the experience and got much more than we could have expected. Music & ambiance was incredible."

  • "If you like sports and you do not mind the high price for food lacking in quality then this is the place for you. The decor and screens were impressive. I am somewhat of a foodie, but I expect value for my money. It just did not match."

  • "If your looking for a place to watch the game or several games at the same time- then this is your place. Food was only okay and service was nothing special even though it wasn't busy when we went. Just okay!!"

  • "We planned ahead and made a reservation thru open table. When we got there we were told that we couldn't get a table unless we paid for it in advance. Not cool. We wasted our time and missed the first half of the Super Bowl wandering the streets of New York looking for a restaurant that could fit us in. Either Open table or 40/40 should have told us that they couldn't honor the reservation."

  • "I did my reservation through opentable and when i got there they told me i didnt have one anymore! The had presold mu table! I never got an email or notification telling me i had to prepay! Awful attitude the guy on the phone and the ones in the entrance! I was really excited to go there and truly disapointed :("

  • "The food including the appetizers was delicious . Everyone enjoyed their selections. The portions were very generous and each plate presented well! We enjoyed the experience immensely. Our server was extremely attentive and definitely contributed to our positive dining experience. We will definitely go back."

  • "We had a great time here. We had a Gilt City coupon for drinks and appetizers. It was a great experience. Beautiful decor, good drinks and food. Great ambiance! But above all - the service was amazing. We felt so welcome there! Our waiter was Eugene and he was just super. He made us feel SO welcome!"

  • "My experience at 40/40 went beyond my expectation. The staff was very concerned about my party and that's something you do not find everywhere, especially in New York. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to NYC."

  • "This is a club, and is set up as a club - be prepared to sit at a small hightop table or a couch with a coffee table. The food was great, but overpriced. Service was, best word to describe it…AWKWARD. Ordered prime rib, told us that they don't give steak knives because they "don't want people to hurt themselves" - after a brief, awkward discussion, she brought the steak knife. Watch the bill!! They hand write the tip onto the bill based on the "suggested tip value" - paid cash and asked for change, she brought change based on the value of the bill with tip included! What if I did not want to tip you 20%?! Terrible practice. Bottom line, I would go again to watch a game (lots of TVs) and sit at the bar, but not for a sit down dinner."

  • "A depressing scene where people just want to see or be seen. Everyone looks miserable in there including the staff. Overpriced drinks and to think I went on a Thu night when there was a football game going on. Why would they not have a Happy Hour? It says a lot when it was pretty much empty on a night with NFL and you call yourself an upscale sports bar. Sad scene."

  • "I had heard about this place with all the hype about Jay Z owning it. I was there at 5:30 on a Wednesday night and we were the ONLY people in the entire place. There was nobody at the bat and nobody eating. The place is amazing....one of the best places to watch a sports event I have ever been to. The ambience suffers from the empty room and the food needs to be better . The service was understandably attentive as we were the only ones to take care of. I don't know how long this place can last without a crowd."

  • "I RECENTLY WENT TO THE 40/40, WHICH WAS MY 2ND TIME AND THE SECURITY GUARDS ARE REALLY AGGRESSIVE WHEN THEY SPEAK & THEIR BODY LANGUAGE. OVERALL, I HAD AN AMAZING TIME AT THE 40/40. GREAT FOOD, GOOD MUSIC, & A FANTASTIC AMBIENCE."

  • "I am a big fan of Jigga man and was looking forward to visiting his establishment during my most recent NYC trip. The online reservation process was easy and seamless. When we got there we told the door people we had reservations for 4 - they got us seated right away but did not ask our names to check off the reservations. We had to sit upstairs to dine because of Dylan's bar mitzvah (which was incredible by the way hahah) so we didnt get to really see or experience the main floor. It was a bit cramped eating for 4 at the small cocktail tables upstairs, but due to our earlier arrival, the staff allowed us to push 2 tables together to give us more room. The bar mitzvah was very LOUD which was sort of a distraction but otherwise a great time!"

  • "Was offered thanksgiving reservations. We arrived early in the evening and pretty much all of the thanksgiving menu was unavailable. If I knew this going in I wouldn't have reserved. Our waiter only mentioned turkey being out, not the entire menu. Thanksgiving dinner was non existent. Who wants to eat pork and Mac n cheese on thanksgiving? Poor communication. Left very upset."

  • "I can tell you the staff was fantastic, the servers were spot on. The food was absolutely delicious. Served on a 15" plate, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn bread stuffing, greenbeans, mac n' cheese, and the freshest tasty cranberry relish. There was pie and ice cream for desert, if wanted. To me it was the dinner deal of the holiday..$20 price fixed for two courses. I would go there weekly, if Thanksgiving happened each week. Wonderful experience!!!!!"

  • "I am very disappointed by the level of service at the 40/40 club. An establishment so lavish should be accompanied by concierge level of service, but this was not the case. My server was forgetful. The place was not that busy so her mind must have been elsewhere. We waited over an hour to receive out food and when it was brought out it was given to another table(that came after us mind you). We can for the thanksgiving dinner and we were informed that they ran out. If you are serving a thanking dinner on the respective holiday you should be more prepared. Instead they substituted our meal for a cheap pasta and unseasoned chicken. The food reminded me of something I used to cook in college(anything I could find). Do not come here!"

  • "Advertised through Open Table, we didn't know what to expect, but the location was perfect to where we were and needed to find a place to celebrate our thanksgiving meal after the parade and prior to flying out of town. Although the ambiance was night club, with couches and low tables, the food was amazingly delicious, gourmet in quality and more than plentiful. The variety of the selections and the home made quality of the ingredients and recipes made the meal particularly satisfying and offered sufficient quantity for the much appreciated and anticipated leftover feast the next day. Very nicely done and all for just $20, fantastic."

  • "Everything fell right about where I expected th to fall. The food was amazing, ambience was great, and our waitress felt for like a hostess.the only reason they did not get 5 stars on the service was because of the time it took to actually get our orders, but that's only understandable since it was thanksgiving! Food was actually cheap too!"

  • "Have been here twice with my boyfriend and both times the food and atmosphere has been great. If you go before club hours you will generally have the restaurant to yourself. Great atmosphere and all the employees are very friendly and accommodating."

  • "We arrived and sat at the bar and waited a while to be served. When we did the attitude of the bar staff was curt and unfriendly. They seemed not to care about the customer. They also openly discussed their personal issues and issues they had with other staff members in front of us which ruined the atmosphere. They then had the audacity to complain about my tipping after all this. The food was tasty on a good note and the staff upstairs were more friendly and engaged in some chat. We left after the meal as the place seemed less friendly than we wanted."

  • "The food was really good, spicy shrimp, spicy fries and 40/40 chicken wings...the cook is on point. The drinks on the other hand are over priced at $15/glass and had NO alcohol what so ever and we had them from 2 different bartenders."

  • "My hubby and I had a great night out for his bday! Food was awesome but upon paying the bill the waitress haggles us for a high tip. Telling us her boss is going to question her as to why she didn't get the more money. She kept forgetting things. We would ask for something and she would leave to get I and then not come back with it and we would as again and she would said I am sorry I forgot. Seriously how many times can you forget something."

  • "My friends and I go to the 40/40 often; it's almost always a random choice. Their food menu is good (definitely try the mac & cheese) and what ever drink you need, I'm sure they have it. Its a great sports club and can get pricy so watch it!"

  • "Went there to watch the UFC fight. The place is perfect to watch any sport event, has many many screens so no matter where you sit you'll be able to see the action; the DJ is amazing and makes a great job mixing music with live TV. Went there with 3 friends to grab drinks after dinner, we were sitting at the bar, the first hours was OK, the atmosphere was so good that I didn't mind the slow and sloppy service, but this completely changed and became even rude, when after 3-4 drinks the waitress just told us that she could not serve us more alcohol. I should mention, we are all in our late 30s early 40s, and were far away of being wasted or misbehaving. In any case, the waitress was rude and didn't give any valid reason."

  • "We (my 21 year old daughter and me) arrived after a Broadway show for a late dinner. We ordered cocktails, several appetizers and shared a main course. Everything was delicious. The food also did not too long to arrive at our table. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively music, RandB, pop and funk played while we were there. We saw two celebreties. It was a great night, and my daughter probably wished she was there with someone other than her mother."
