Amazing for Mother's Day BrunchThe food was fantastic, the ambience was fantastic, the bottomless Mimosas was great, the staff was courteous, fun, and so attentive! The prime rib and the crab claws were so tasty and made to perfection. Everything we ate was just so delicious & satisfying. The starters we tried, the warm olives and roasted brussel sprouts were so yummy and different from what you find at most "american" dining type places. There was a nice choice of main entrees too!! We were going to the Hiller Museum in San Carlos and wanted to try something different. there were many good reviews and the points were a plus so we decided to give it a try. Way beyond what we expected. It is in the Doubletree Hotel so we didn't expect much but we were wrong The staff is warm and caring and the food is unique and well prepared. They have draft wines which were delicious. One white and one red. I had the white and it was so good my friend had the red and it was a bit on the dry side. Our server Carmen was fantastic. She was attentive,warm and professional. we will definitely go back. Thank you!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected Surprise!You normally don't associate creative small plates & a well-edited wine selections with a hotel restaurant, but 37 North at the SFO Doubletree was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise. The Brussels Sprout Leaves with Bacon appetizer is a must try. Each dish we shared had a combination of flavors to savor. The service was exceptional and accompanied (Friday night) by a really good jazz trio that provided just the right background music. The gelato & sorbet dessert was the perfect ending to a delightful experience. We enjoyed it so much that we returned again a few days later again before flying home. If you are staying at another SFO hotel(or live nearby) you should put 37 North on your list and support the great job they are doing!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Surprises at 37 North!We were pleasantly surprised by our Easter breakfast (not the more elaborate brunch) yesterday at 37 North. We always enjoyed the Chutney Grill, but since the remodel, name change and Open Table listing, the whole restaurant scene at the Burlingame Doubletree has been upgraded! Lovely surroundings. Sumptious hot buffet for $15. Outstanding, friendly service from the maitre d' (or was he manager?) to the waitress (Lisa), and Abdul, who is one of the bakers. Our grandson, missing the Easter Bunny who was always present at the old Chutney Grill, was delighted to make the acquaintance of Abdul, whom he decided was The Muffin Man. Everyone's food, and we ordered a variety, was very good. The service was fantastic! Manager came by several times and server was very helpful. Bartender even came by to answer questions about a specialty cocktail. As the restaurant is inside a DoubleTree Hotel and located a distance from any residential area, it clearly does not attract many diners beyond those staying at the hotel. Too bad, the locals are really missing out! The food was excellent. Everything we ordered was served hot and fresh. Short ribs were not available. Enjoyed the desserts and really enjoyed the live jazz. When our group walked in without even checking in yet, the manager looked at me and said Jeanne Fields and I was blown out. Then when we all sat down he mentioned (which is what I mentioned on the reservation on open table) that there was a Gluten free person with us and he addressed this immediately. The food outstanding, the service was top notch there was a dessert and drinkt two people did not like and they immediately offered something else and took it off the bill without us even mentioning it. My skirt steak and my companions Pork Chop were outstanding. The service was just wonderful - Lisa was very professional. A wonderful waitperson. John, our host was incredible as well. They were an awesome team. I go to a restaurant not only for the quality of food, but for the service provided and these two were truly remarkable. Not only is the food outstanding, but you are treated royally by this fine staff.
