A word from 315 Restaurant & Wine Bar
315 offers a truly French experience in a city overflowing with Southwestern restaurants. Chef Louis Moskow's classically prepared cuisine is given a contemporary twist as a result of his commitment to using only the freshest ingredients. Although customer favorites remain on the menu year-round (including seared duck breast, French onion soup and country pate), Moskow offers an extensive daily menu of beautifully executed dishes such as steamed grouper with baby bok choy, house-cured salmon and lobster ravioli, as well as soft shell crabs and squash blossom beignets, in season. Desserts including lemon crepes, chocolate pot de creme and profiteroles are alone worth a visit. The wine bar, one of the largest and most well-conceived in the region, includes more than 250 seasonally-driven selections from the finest vineyards in the world. Located on the historic Old Santa Fe Trail, 315 is housed in a beautifully renovated southwestern residence. The outdoor patio is open June-October.Continued

  • "The food that we ordered was burnt on one side which was not the presentation side. Server was going to bring bread never happened seemed to be more interested in the bartender than our table."

  • "Was recommended to us by the Concierge at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa in Bernalillo. A bit pricey, but the food was very good and the wait staff was very friendly. Nice intimate atmosphere. The dessert we had (strawberry rhubarb tart) was not up to our expectations."

  • "As I arrived, I was excited by some of the items shown on their specials board. Note that the regular menu did not match the website. It seems to not be updated regularly. For a cocktail, I got the Calvados Cinnamon Sour. It tastes like cinnamon pears in a very homey way, but fresh also. The salad I ordered was billed as Warm Farmers Market Kale Salad with Lentils, Sunchokes, & Chickpea Fritters. The kale was well prepared and the dressing still captivates me. The lentils were a bit heavy for the dish and hard to eat with the kale. My entree was the Spaghetti Squash Crepes with Exotic Mushrooms. I would eat that all day long - the flavors were so complementary. In all, I enjoyed my meal and the friendly service - I would gladly return."

  • "We were in Santa Fe for a week, and we look for restaurants with both amazing food and wine. We have a fabulous dinner, and we had a 20 yr old CA cab. Service was wonderful, attentive but not rushed. We would most definitely go back, very cozy atmosphere. Great night, would highly recommend!"

  • "While I ordered "rack of lamb served with cassoulet" I received 2 lamb chops sitting on a full plate of , I guess pinto beans. WHen I made reference to the waiter that this was an odd rendition of cassoulet and certainly not the traditional white beans...he told me the kitchen may have taken some creative means of making it . It was not tasty ! Otherwise, his help with the wine selection was excellent. I would be hesitant to send friends until I try the restaurant again."

  • "This restaurant is always a sure thing! Great food, wine and most of all service!"

  • "The food was mediocre overall. The ambience was destroyed by patrons nearby which included some functionary of the restaurant and the loud arguing then sharing of all the personal details of their lives that were of no consequence to a fellow diner. A poor show for the money."

  • "We generally like this restaurant, but our most recent experience was less than satisfactory. We were accompanied by out-of-town friends and were planning on a leisurely dinner, but our waiter seemed annoyingly impatient at the slowness with which we ordered and completed each course. A waiter's attention to his table is one thing, but in this case his constant reappearance was too much and detracted from the dining experience. Adding further to the poor ambience, he contributed to an already high noise level as he engaged in a lengthy and rather loud conversation with diners at a nearby table."

  • "But, the area that we were seated in was less than desirable..the space felt like a spillover space.. That needed opening up to the main area.. The food was fresh, delicious and well prepared.. We enjoyed every bite!"

  • "We went to 315 for Valentine's dinner. It was a prix fix menu. The choices were good, but we found the flavors to be ho-hum, predictable and disappointing. The host who seated us was somewhat aloof and we didn't feel welcomed. Our waitress was really good and the service was good too. My husband had the filet and he said it was just "ok". I had crab cakes which were anything but memorable, very little flavor and the veal breast - maybe I just made a poor choice, but it was a meat and potatoes meal. Our bill was over $200 so we were somewhat disappointed. Maybe trying it again, not on a holiday, we would get better results (but shouldn't one of the busiest dining nights be their best food?). Not sure if we will try it again."

  • "My husband and I love going to 315 for their wine dinners. The Chef does an incredible job with his pairings. The food is always interesting and pairs perfectly with the wines. Also his prices aren't ridiculous as are many wine dinners at restaurants in Santa Fe."

  • "The wine list, appetizers, and desserts were great. Both of our main dishes were just okay. It's Santa Fe though, it's hard to compare to Montreal's french food."

  • "Five of us ate at this restaurant. We all agreed the food was very good, as well as wonderful service. Would definitely return to this restaurant."

  • "This wonderful restaurant and wine bar always provides a terrific meal and a memorable experience. The menu is a sure bet and there are always specials and an extensive wine selection. The wine bar is a great place to meet friends."

  • "Loved the relaxed and cozy feeling of the place it made you feel like home. Would definitely return and recommend to all my friends. The French Onion Soup was the Best I ever had. The Steak Frites was cooked to perfection and my Sister had the Seared Sea Scallops which was a Special for the evening and she said the dish was outstanding. Service was impeccable and you never felt rushed they made the dining experience very pleasant. My sister could not stop raving about their House Chardonnay from California she said it was the Best she ever had."

  • "I took one of my best friends for her combined Christmas and Birthday, we had a wonderful time, the food was good, wish there was more fois gras on the plate but what we got was great. It's good to see "other" items on the menu We both ordered the special bread pudding for dessert, I would love the recipe as I love bread pudding, reminds me of my grandmother"

  • "The restaurant itself is charming. The staff were somewhat aloof , even snooty, which definitely took away from the charm of the setting. The wine list was excellent and the dessert selections were very good but the entrees were disappointing. Entrees were just that and included no sides of vegetables other than potatoes. One of our party ordered steak whic was tough, topped with shoestring potatoes and included nothing else. It would have been nice if the servers had suggested or offered other side items. An attitude adjustment in staff is definitely in order."

  • "I have enjoyed 315 before. I went there for dinner on New Years Eve, a prix fixe @ $65 per three course dinner. The first course of sautéed mushrooms was enjoyable. I ordered the filet of sole for my entree. It was overcooked, mushy, tasteless, and served on a bed of equally unattractive greens and other things. Normally I would have sent it right back, but my companion (who was about to leave for a year) had already started on her food and it would have been awkward and annoying, so I just ate what I could. Filet of sole is tricky. If you can't do it , don't do it. The tab for the two of us was over $200. I expect more for that and I was disappointed with the whole experience."

  • "A disappointing first time experience. We arrived early for reservation only to have to wait 40 minutes in very crowded bar before seating. Meager, if not insincere, apologies. Another 45 minute wait for our food. The hostesses and wait staff seemed more interested in chatting with friends in the bar than making sure their customers had a good dining experience. For the price, the food was average. The truffled risotto was bland with not much in the way of truffles for the steep pricetag. The waiter never returned to pour our wine after the first pour. For the prices at this restaurant, I would expect this type of service. The bright spot was the attentive bus boy who kept our water glasses filled and bread on the table. Won't be returning"

  • "My husband and I chose this restaurant for New Year's and we were not disappointed. Everything was top notch, and even though it was a prix fixe for the evening, the course selections were varied and had something for every tastebud. The service was outstanding- attentive without being overbearing, and we never felt rushed. I put 'moderate' as the noise-level because the restaurant was very full that night, but considering our close quarters to other tables, we could still hear each other without feeling like we were having to raise our voices. We will definitely return to 315!"

  • "Restaurants come and go in Santa Fe. Some shine for a while, some following the latest trends, and some living on reputations real or imagined. What sets 315 apart is that it is consistently very good while also being comfortable yet elegant. Food is creatively prepared, and much is locally sourced. All of it is delicious. The rambling old house provides intimacy like walking down a narrow Santa Fe Street. Service is professional but friendly. The wine list includes a section featuring reasonably priced last bottles. As a local, I have enjoyed 315 dining and look forward to celebrating more special occasions there."

  • "Venison was tender and delicious. The truffle risotto was good but lacked richness. Wine was excellent."

  • "Unfortunately it seems that there is a completely new staff and the change is not for the better. As we sat down and ordered cocktails we asked for some time to finish our drinks. We ordered wine and put in our order but asked the waitress to pace it so we could relax. The next thing we knew, our appetizers came out and our cocktails weren't half down. The waitress didn't know how to decant the wine and the entres came out before we finished the appetizers! At this point we had been seated for less than 25 minutes!! 315 used to have professional wait staff that were knowledgable of the menu and the wines.....now they are equivalent to what you'd find at a common Mexican resturant."

  • "The meal was excellent. Scallop and shrimp chowder was delicate and delicious - don't forgo the bacon if you're a carnivore! Venison scallopine was fabulous. Even brussels spouts, which they would not sub out for another vegetable, were good."

  • "We love 315 and have gone on several occasions and will continue to go, but the dinner (price fix) on Christmas Eve was far from memorable. It seemed like we were on a conveyer belt being pumped in and out of the restaurant. The gal that waited on us was lovely, but couldn't control the quality of the whole experience. The food was not near as good as it is during regular, non-holiday time and it felt overpriced for what we got. This review is based on only this experience and on past experiences we would rate it 4 to 5 stars."

  • "Our food was disappointing. The "seared" veal chop was a good and generous cut, but unfortunately it was breaded and only the bread was seared. The frites on my wife's plate were so overcooked that they tasted burned. They were replaced upon request, but the waitress was put out when we asked to remove the burnt frites from the table. We had to ask three times for more bread. The recommended excellent bottle of Pinot Noir was so chilled there was neither bouquet nor flavor revealed. The restaurant claimed that the appropriate storage temperature of 57 degrees was also the correct service temperature."

  • "315 is one of our top five favorite high end Santa Fe restaurants which is says a lot in this restaurant town. Though we live here it's good to note It's downtown location makes it walk-able from any hotel, Always delicious food, inventive but not pretentious, with emphasis on the seasonal. Bar menu is as fabulous as the full restaurant menu. We frequently go for just to have appetizers and wine, which still makes for satisfying meal. Nothing pedestrian here. Service is impeccable and professional. Excellent wine list and staff is very knowledgeable about the wines - you can't go wrong with their great recommendations. 315 never disappoints, unlike some of the other high end restaurants whose reputations sometimes exceed their quality."

  • "Classic French menu, expertly prepared every time, leads us to return to Bistro 315. Earlier this week, the easy going staff put us at ease AND were there when we needed them. Chef Louis Moskow's has a palate for well made wines, especially those of Burgundy. Situated in an rambling old adobe building, seating varies from cozy nooks to large tables with patio dining overlooking THE Old Santa Fe Trail in warm weather."

  • "Attentive service, nice ambience, good wine list (one normally does not find Antinori-quality wines offered by the glass), but however well prepared, all dishes ordered by our party, from starter to entrées, lacked in overall flavor."

  • "We come here about every 2 weeks and enjoy it. It has been consistently good. But not last night. Burned appetitser, tiny oysters that were warm, cold entres...corked wine that they made a fuss about. It was a disaster and I brought out of town guests. Think I will avoid for a while."

  • "315 is incredible. Every dish was better than the next. The charcuterie plate was divine, the lamb and veal succulent, the truffle mashed potatoes out of this world and the pumpkin parfait delectable. Our server was fantastic too."

  • "We went for my husband's birthday and brought a coupon for two free wine glasses which we loved. We had schnitzel, greens, peel and eat shrimp, a cheese plate, and shared a $25.00 glass of Tignanello (the pours were generous), the wait staff were friendly and helpful. The food was all delicious."

  • "With an innovative menu of well-prepared dishes, 315 remains a personal favorite. I know there will be interesting specials, great wines, and attentive service. I've been eating here for the 13 years I've lived in Santa Fe and never been disappointed."

  • "Allow me to say that all in all the evening was worth the trip. Wait staffers were eager to serve and clarify menu descriptions. Cocktail and wine selections are top rate. Dining areas are small and romantic. Tables are not jammed together so your not listening to your neighbors conversation. Down side was my éntree, I ordered moulés and frites. Too many of the mussels served had not opened after being cooked. One, two, or three bad shell fish I can live with but, more than fifteen in an order is unforgivable. Fellow dinners who had ordered mussels as well had a similar experience. The frites were not what I describe as a "frites" they were thick wedges of potato."

  • "Good food, good wine, great service in a nice setting. Not cheap, but worth the price. They've managed to get really good oysters to Santa Fe--no mean feat. We had full dinners and apps--charcuterie plate, oysters, steak frites and lamb chops. Everything prepared and presented well. They also serve small plates in the bar--will definitely have to try that."

  • "We've enjoyed eating here for years, and were thrilled when they were able to expand the place. This time, we opted to try the bar menus (5 dishes for $35, an "are you kidding me" bargain in Santa Fe). It was like eating at a French tapas joint! We had the steak and charcuterie plate, among others. Filled us up and was everything was perfectly prepared. This restaurant is not to be missed in Santa Fe."

  • "Seafood platter appetizer was uneventful, not pretty and served with, what seemed like, bottled seafood sauce. Steak Frites entrée was sent out with a tough steak and overcooked fries. Mussels with fries was the best dish, but the sauce lacked flavor. We were disappointed. But....we will go back to the wine bar and try that menu."
