Diner Reviews
  • "300 East has great ambiance, particularly once the sun goes down and the soft interior lighting generates a warm, intimate atmosphere. The charm of the place and the superior service stood out a little more than the food — which wasn't bad by any stretch, just not quite of the caliber I was hoping for. Ms. B. ordered the Farro Sauté with grilled shrimp, which proved excellent, and superior to my hanger steak. The potato cake side item was actually the standout of the meal — quite delicious and worth a reprise. I would like to visit 300 East again and try a few different menu items. The atmosphere and the service, again, so good that it overcame any other shortcomings, makes 300 East sufficiently a winner to bring me back."

  • "I met a girlfriend for lunch, we sat outside on a beautiful April Saturday afternoon. The service was spotty - mostly fine. Food was, as always, excellent. Something for everyone on the menu. Thoughtful combinations of flavors - delicious. We both had the fish taco and it was fabulous. We lingered over dessert as well. Always a wonderful meal at 300 East."

  • "As usual, Brunch was excellent. However, on this past Sunday, there was too much business at 300 East. Service was slow, and our server got the orders wrong. Food was still excellent, even though it was late coming."

  • "The menu is nothing short of a foodies dream. We had a really hard picking just ONE item off the menu. Everything we did order was delicious and I would definitely go back to try more items on the menu!"

  • "I was pleasantly suprised at the overall experience at 300 East. Lately, my wife and I have not had the best experiences when we have dined out. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I would recommend 300 East to anyone. Go, you won't be disappointed."

  • "Enjoyed the experience. Everything we ordered was excellent. Slightly noisy as table spacing is tight, so you hear everyone's conversation."

  • "when I called to book a reservation, hostess was a little rude, and told me just to come in (not making my reservation and hung up). i eat here regularly because the food is always top notch so i just went on my phone and just booked through open table. Food was great as usual and it was nice enough out to enjoy the patio."

  • "Fab meals to celebrate a birthday with friends. The food is always wonderful. Never dissapoints. Busy night, and a new waiter left him overwhelmed and slow service. But well worth it."

  • "We are from out of town, and this restaurant was recommended to us, and it certainly measured up. The setting is an old house that is absolutely charming. The menu is diverse and reasonably priced. All our food was just delicious. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Service was great- the food was incredible! Warm, inviting, lovely atmosphere- didn't give it 5 stars on ambience just because it wasn't a fancy, elegant atmosphere."

  • "Really enjoyed the service and food. I was placed at a table with a beam right next to it though, didn't enjoy sitting next to that much"

  • "We love 300 East. Be sure to make a reservation though because it gets crowded for Sunday brunch! The French toast is amazing!"

  • "300 East was/is a gem. Our stay in Charlotte is not by choice. We have need to visit the medical center. When time allowed, the need to break away from this scene was much needed. 300 East was a soothing balm. The energy was just right, the food was very good...all but excellent (the fried grit cake was a bit to crispy...but, must admit we're not much into fried foods). The BBQ ribs were FANTASTIC...a must repeat when we return. But, if we do not try another entrée, we'll not be able to sample her other treats...indeed a quandary."

  • "300 East remains a long time fav for a special gathering place for a special occasion! Service is attentive. 300 East does French onion soup better than anyone. Salads are different and selections are easy to navigate through for dieters. Wine selections are good. Perfect place to enjoy with friends and a lingering glass of wine."

  • "I've been to 300 East on 3 occasions now and every visit has been fantastic. The food is outstanding and is prepared quick enough that it's perfect for a working lunch, AND the noise level is low so you can have conversations without shouting."

  • "We went to 300 East for brunch and had an overall very good experience. We were taken in right away with our reservation. There is not an extremely large menu for breakfast, but what everyone ordered was very good."

  • "This is a charming restaurant. The Specialty drink was delicious. It's a 32 oz drink, but the Bartender let us divide it into 2 drinks. We sat at the bar, which is cozy, not a big bar area and ate our Roasted Sweet Potato pizza appetizer. It was yummy!! Our table was upstairs in front of the fireplace. This is a great table! Our server, never told us her name, was terrific!! The crab cakes were delicious! The veggie burger , not so much. It tasted like mashed up garbonzo beans. This is a fun a place to go! It's quaint and cozy and YUMMY!!!"

  • "The food here was amazing. We had the sweet potato ravioli as an appetizer and our main courses were the Fall Salad and the Pork Tenderloin. Our server was helpful and friendly, and the food was served quickly. I highly recommend this place for the great food and service. The only downside is that it's pretty crowded, so we were at a small table in a corner."

  • "I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. The surroundings were very nice,in an old house. The food was not objectionable but my fish taco was so so at best. My husband enjoyed his tuna salad much more and the on tap North Carolina beer was a great added touch. I guess was I expecting more after reading reviews. It seemed like a place that might have gotten tired and needs a lift!"

  • "We have been enjoying dining at 300East for many years...even before it became 300 East! We often order the same thing..hanger steak for me, filet for my wife. Although the dishes are not always identical every visit, they have never disappointed us. The servers are always friendly and knowledgeable. We are also very fond of the old house setting since we once lived in Dilworth."

  • "This was our first visit after having received many recommendations to go there. Great location and the environment is a very relaxed vibe. It was really busy the night we went but there was still an intimate feel to it. Great menu options and they had an extensive gluten free menu which was much appreciated as I have a gluten allergy. Very attentive server even though she was super busy. We were there for 2 hours and enjoyed a very leisurely dinner with drinks. Will definitely be back!!"

  • "It was a slow chilly dining experience. I had the veggie plate. And one would think it's a veggie plate, how could that go wrong? Well the sweet potatoes were very stringy. The other veggies were just that. Nothing to write home about. My guest enjoyed his chicken tortilla. I enjoyed his sweet tea. Honestly, as far as what I consumed...the sweet tea was the best. It was also rather chilly in the restaurant. No complaints on the server. He was always there refilling."

  • "It was way overprices as the food was cold and I didn't care for the preparation of it. My husband had the lamb and he said it had no taste. I would cross this place off my list for places to return to. Very disappointed."
