Diner Reviews
  • "This was my 2nd experience at 300 East. It is my girlfriends favorite restaurant and she has been there many times. I took her there for the 1 year Anniversary of our first date. The food was great as always. When I made the reservation, I asked for a quiet, romantic table to celebrate our special occasion. However, what we got was quite the opposite. When we arrived, they tried to seat us at a table right in the middle of the dining room. When I asked for something else, they put us at a table near the front outside wall, which would have been better if not for the screaming baby next to us!! We may go back occasionally just because of the food is very good, but we will plan our more quiet, special occasions somewhere else from now on."

  • "Seafood special (Thai coconut shrimp) was very good. Everything else was good, but not exceptional. Atmosphere is a little dark and dingy. Prices were reasonable."

  • "I love this restaurant. Reliably great food. Ahi Tuna is always fantastic. I had a business meeting and thought upstairs would be quiet but as it turns out it was very loud. Now I know :)"

  • "Went with my girlfriend, it was nice. Only thing was the noise. It was a little loud, I understand large groups, but maybe a little better grouping between small and large parties Other than that, great!"

  • "300 East has been around for a very long time, and not once have I ever had a meal there that disappointed. They have a menu which combines long time favorites with new, creative items. The Usual sandwich is a favorite with many customers. What I like is the farro and kale salad with shrimp on top. It is an entrée and is hot and delicious. I felt healthy eating it but was full at the end. They did a great job helping us celebrating a birthday. The lemon polenta dessert is outstanding."

  • "We were just passing through Charlotte and was recommended to go to 300 East for lunch. Food was amazing, I had the tuna burger which had a great oriental garnish adaptation. My wife had the Tuna Salad, the tuna... amazing! Ambiance was great, food was amazing, service was prompt and with a smile."

  • "food is always good. With so many other choices and new places opening it's easy to overloo 300 East. Yet every time I go, I leave thinking " Why don't I come here more often?" Food is always good, service is fine and it is all so very comforta"

  • "The restaurant is a remodeled house in an up-scale neighborhood with an eclectic menu that changes frequently and offers organic and local produce and meats. Chef is creative and food is served attractively and in decent-sized portions. Very nice for a date or a special day out. Prices are reasonable given the quality of ingredients, flavors, freshness, and uniqueness."

  • "Our experience at 300 East was an attempt to experience something other than chain restaurants while in Charlotte. We succeeded. The for was what I'd call American cuisine with flair. The salmon, pork loin and filet were delicious. Unlike some restaurants, our waiter did not seem disappointed when we said we did not want cocktails, but instead suggested the Meyer lemonade, which was delicious. We also sat and visited longer than we should have when we were done eating, and never felt rushed. Delightful place!"

  • "This is a great restaurant in the heart of Dilworth that consistently serves excellent meals. Their restaurant menu featured items from their regular menu, but portion sizes remained plentiful. The Fall salad with the port-soaked cherries and goat cheese is a winner and the guys in our party were very happy with their steak and horseradish sauce. The desserts were good, but left something to be desired when compared to the rest of the meal."

  • "We visit 300 East frequently although it is a drive from where we live. It is our favorite before airport delivery and after airport pickup dining spot with our many visitors."

  • "My wife and I stayed in the Dilworth area for a week and while walking around the neighborhood we saw this place. After doing a little research we figured it would be a fun place to have a date night during our stay. 300 East lived up to all the wonderful reviews and we could not have been more pleased with our meal. They seated us immediately, we had a knowledgeable and attentive waitress who was able to provide detailed explanations and answered all of our questions. The food came out in a timely manner while still being very fresh and delicious. Overall it was a great experience that was superior to the more sterile atmospheres that you find in Uptown corporate owned establishments."

  • "The menu is diverse enough to appeal to both the hard core breakfast eaters, and those of us who like the lunch part of brunch, and aren't big fans of eggs and waffles. Fun atmosphere and great service. There's a good reason why 300 East is one of the longest running Dilworth standouts."

  • "First, the Beignets are more like fried doughnut holes... not very tasty either. I ordered the Grits Bowl which was good, but not very difficult to make. The latte's were OK, but vey small. The services was not only slow, but average for friendliness... we got a smile at the end of our meal, I assume in hopes of a great tip- too late. I doubt I will be visiting 300 East again."
