  • "A friend and I were in the mood for seafood so we decided on 340 Grill down by the waterfront. The menu had many interesting options, there was a nice selection of beers and cocktails, service was excellent and we had a great view of NYC. We started off with the bruschetta; it had a very original presentation and was delicious. The seafood risotto is to die for; perhaps the best scallops I've ever had."

  • "The food was pretty good, not off the chart outstanding. Biggest disappointment was upon arrival learning that they did not take reservations for outside seating - which was the whole reason i chose the restaurant. The hostess's attitude was far from customer centric and I wouldn't dine there again just based upon that initial interaction."

  • "The location is great-right near the waterfront with outdoor seating and open/high ceiling dining room inside, as well. We had the bruscetta appetizer which was different and flavorful. We each had filet mignon with different sides, cooked a little under our preference, but still very tender. Food arrived pretty quickly, but the dining room was nearly empty on the 4th of July. Service was okay, but not amazing. Definitely worth a try."

  • "The menu was unique and delicious. The cocktail menu as well was creative and drinks balanced and well made. I was impressed with seafood options from the raw oysters to the imported fish. The menu wasn't pages long but the options on it were thought out, worked awesome together and done right. I had the braised short rib with a red wine demi glaze that was amazing and the mushroom regiano rosotto was cooked perfect. Pricing was decent considering its location, view and rent i'm sure :). Service was excellent as well our server was helpful, attentive and well mannered. Great experience for my girlfriend and mine 7 year anniversary."

  • "The food was very good but if you enjoy waiting extra long for bread, the check or drinks that aren't yours, you'll definitely enjoy it."

  • "The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! Me and two of my girlfriends went here on Saturday, June 21, 2014 to celebrate one of their birthdays. Our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. She took care of all of our needs and also was very helpful with me choosing my entrée. I will now start to patronize 3 Forty Grill at least 3 times a year. From my salad to the Short Rib, I was not disappointed. 3 Forty Grill you ROCK! Kudos to the chef."

  • "We four sat outdoors in spite of possible showers forecast and had a wonderful dinner. We shared crab & shrimp nachos and creamy lobster mac n' cheese appetizers. I had the Chilean sea bass and I think I won the prize for best entree. It was beautifully presented, hot inside, and very tasty. My wife thinks she won the prize for her lobster, shrimp and scallop risotto, which I agree was also tasty. Our friends had the crabcake sandwich and the beer battered north Atlantic cod without the bread. The crabcake was all crab with very little filler. Our desserts were berries and warm apple crisp. It was very pleasant sitting and watching the world go by with boats on the river and the NYC skyline across the way. A good recommendation!"

  • "We had the best father 's day ever! We haven't been to Hoboken for ever so it was great to see how much it has changed! The view was amazing, the food and drinks were amazing, and even the music was amazing! It was a beautiful day out with my husband and daughter! .... And there was a great playground right across the street by the water which my six year old loved! We will definitely be back!"

  • "My fiance and I went here for father's day and ordered off the brunch menu. The mimosas were strong and very refreshing on a warm summer day. We opted to sit inside because we didn't want to be around bugs while eating and wanted a more peaceful brunch as for noise. They sat us near these gigantic windows, and so we still were able to get some sun and soak in the water views. He ordered the crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries- which he loved, and a side of scrambled eggs. I has the stuffed french toast with eggs. The service was fast enough that we only needed 2 mimosas between ordering and the meals coming out. One drawback is that dinner menu begins at 3:30, and we weren't able to order off that menu- no flexibility."

  • "We went for Father's Day. We were a party of 5. Very good service and food. I had to send back my salmon and they were very professional. I thougth the chef would just cook it a little more because it was too rare. He cooked me another dinner! It was very good. Ecxellent waiter."

  • "I have been to this restaurant a few times now and it never dissapoints.I took my bf here.He had the hanger steak and thought it was the best steak he has ever had!He literally compares every steak to this one. This last visit,he got the steak and it did not taste the same. I saw that he was upset and we mentioned it to one of the servers. He immediately apologized and assured us that he will change it right away. Our own server came up to us reiterated the same.We were so impressed by the level of service, that my bf before even getting the new dish, said we need to go here more often.Mistakes happen, but how a place deals with it, builds loyalty. The steak came back and it was exactly how he had remembered it.Love this place!"

  • "Dinner was for the parents of a dating couple to finally meet and I requested a table pursued to enjoy the perfect weather. They gave us a perfect table with a stellar view of NYC which was a great indicator that the staff listens and accommodates. Our server Danielle was very friendly and attentive. 3 people had the sea bass and loved it. My hanger steak was excellent: done perfectly medium with a great flavor. Salmon was also very well presented and prepared. Overall the place has one of the best locations in town and the good is just a shade below the location rating yet quite good. We will be back."

  • "I dont have any real complaints with this place. The food was good. The service was good. The ambience was good. But I will say that nothing about it was spectacular enough to warrant a return visit. "

  • "Our dinner entrees of filet mignon were cooked to perfection-medium rare and were very tasty. We had sat at the bar to eat to catch the Sunday Night NHL Hockey Game. The service was a bit off, but Tammy the manager made sure our every need was tended to. Overall it was an okay dining experience. We will make a return visit."

  • "Definitely not worth the $40 pp for the brunch. Buffet lined up in the bar. No silverware on the table....it was on trays by the buffet. Food was cold. Waiter scooping shrimp out of a bucket was very appetizing. Staff standing around in groups, made it difficult to get by them to/from the buffet. Staff was also constantly moving tables around, creating 4 tops, then moving those tables again to create eight tops, then moving them back again. Very annoying..... Would try this place for a dinner or lunch sometime, but not for a special occasion brunch again....."

  • "Food was well prepared, visually appealing, appropriate timing of service, priced right. Our waiter Carlos, and support staff, was attentive during service and responsive to our guest birthday service. Only minor hiccup was in serving four shots, but only three slices of lime, and then on a paper napkin, but otherwise overall enjoyable experience."

  • "The only good thing about place is the view of Manhattan. Food was average but for the price tag, it needs to be better. "

  • "Would recommend for the out of town friend who wants to enjoy a view of the city, but as well for the local looking for a nice place to dine. Food was great! Only issue, there was a family next to us that could not control their kids. That was no fault of the restaurant's, that was bad parents. Would totally go back!"

  • "This was our first time at 3 Forty Grill. It was recommended to us by a friend so we weren't quite sure what to expect. It turned out to be a wonderful choice. Each one of us enjoyed our meals. Two of us had the short ribs and they were like butter with a rich brown sauce and a creamy risotto and spinach on the side. The grilled tuna looked wonderful as did the filet mignon that was accompanied by mashed potatoes with lobster! We ordered a couple of desserts for the seven of us and we couldn't even finish them. The apple crisp was just that with the apples a little tart and crispy, just as they should be. The banana bread pudding was awesome."

  • "I always love their buffet brunch special on Holidays. It is affordable with such a great selection. Also, they were kind enough to modify our reservation from 3 to 4 people at the last minute with no problem. "

  • "I chose the 3:15 dining time on Easter Sunday because the website had listed the buffet runs until 3pm. When we arrived we were told we had to still do the buffet time. $40pp for no drinks, and maybe 8 choices at the buffet at it was the end of the buffet time - so over priced, especially since we're not a buffet family (we prefer just one plate of food). I've had the regular menu at 340 and enjoyed it - but skip the buffet!"

  • "There seemed to be more importance on getting customers in and out than providing a fine dining experience. Being told that you have a 1-1/2 hour limit didn't help. I couldn't cut the English muffin of an Eggs Benedict with my table knife. The wait staff was barely there. Had to ask a manager to add wine to a glass that was poured only 1/4 full initially."
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "We had a late reservation on a Saturday night that the restaurant was able to accommodate for a larger party. For a fine dining type restaurant, the food was very good all around. Good steak, tasty seafood and good wine selection. I will be coming back here again."
    Dined on 4/19/2014
  • "They were wonderful here, and took great care of us. We asked to sit somewhere else with a better view and they happily set us up somewhere else. The wait staff and general manager were attentive and super friendly. Food was delicious too, but the pancake dish was small in comparison to the other meals. "

  • "While the food is fine for brunch, you won't be able to reserve a table outside. I made reservations days in advance and requested an outside table, but no one from the restaurant called to let me know that it is their policy to not take reservations for outdoor seating. Had I known that, I would not have gone to this restaurant. Others should be made aware of this policy."

  • "The manager, Tammy is outstanding at making sure this hot spot runs flawlessly. Price can run up quickly, but it's Hoboken. Go elsewhere if you are going to complain about money."

  • "Service was good however food quality was questionable. Steak was overdone and of poor quality. Potato side dish was not well prepared."

  • "Always so nice to find a great restaurant for a group open on a Monday. Brought my work colleagues while we were staying at the Nearby W Hotel in Hoboken. Greeted with a smile. Waitress was attentive and accomodating. Didn't realized that I had tipped on top of the 18% automatic gratuaity and she proactively notified me. Notable entree choices: Chiliean sea bass, short ribs with risotto. Desserts were homemade and ENORMOUS. I am still dreaming about that cheesecake. Will return !!!!"

  • "Reputation aside, the service was unacceptable for the level of restaurant they would like to be. When sitting down the waitor asked us if we wanted drinks or to wait and we said wait for a few. Never came back to take drink orders. When the meal came out for our party of six, only five dinners came out. When asked where the other was, it appeared that it had not even been made."

  • "Really nice place to go with that special someone. Prices are fair and the food was really good quality. There is a nice view of the city from the table for 2 area, especially at night. The service was also great due to the fact that the waiter did not badger us like they do at other places. The lighting is low which makes it romantic and the music is at the perfect volume as it provides a nice backdrop and does not drown out the conversation at all. Overall I would rate this place a 9 out of 10..."

  • "This restaurant had nice ambiance, good service, but the food left a lot to be desired. Bread was so-so, appetizer (shrimp/crab nachos were different than menu description and had a very fishy taste. Scallops for main course not good quality and over cooked, the steaks were definitely not the quality described on website and filets were not tender, "lump" crab cakes were shredded crab and not real good. We did enjoy one fish dish and martinis but sides were somewhat a mystery."
