  • "We celebrated our anniversary here and though the restaurant was quiet (Monday night) the wait staff was excellent and attentive without being intrusive. The mushroom tartine is more like crostini but delicious. The Caesar salad was a hit with my non foodie husband. The halibut was tender, perfectly cooked and fantastic. I had the crab risotto and am in love. Brightly flavored but delicate with my newest favorite ingredient, Buddha hand confit, this dish was worth the visit. We ordered a dark chocolate dessert and the restaurant supplemented with a special creamy dessert (sorry, can't remember what it was) which was very good too and a welcome treat to our evening."

  • "It's unexpected to find such a destination for foodies in an office building out by the beltway, but the setting is indeed beautiful and the food is fabulous! We did the wine-paired 5-course menu, and the sommelier couldn't properly pronounce any of the varietals or regions, but she has a great palate. The pairings were excellent! And how great to have a female sommelier! We never did "click" with our server. We were being funny and he was just going for serious, but he was there whenever we needed anything, so we can't complain! Overall - surprising location but great meal. This place is perfect for power lunches!"

  • "Just wonderful. Loved the food service, and our server made us feel very special."

  • "Everything about the restaurant 2941 was quite pleasant. Because it was our first time, we were confused by only valet parking. A sign saying that valet is the ONLY way to park would have been helpful. We did not appreciate the parking attendant yelling at us. The man who got the car after lunch was very polite and pleasant."

  • "Went with some friends who had not been there before, and they were awed by the view. Expected a more industrial setting and couldnt believe the scenery -- and the koi! The view is amazing. And the food is out of this world. The Daffy burger is one of the best things I have ever eaten, the tuna carpaccio was not only delicious, but a real treat for the eyes as well. And this was just lunch -- It was great!"

  • "We selected this restaurant for our anniversary. The food and service were very good, though a bit pricey. The Halibut was moist and delicious, and the soft-shell crabs nicely prepared, though I would have preferred them sauteed, rather than fried. The green salad and Caesar salad had just the right amount of dressing. the baked-Alaska type dessert was excellent, and the cheese-filled, freshly-baked complimentary do-nut holes were very welcome. The only real drawback is the room itself, which appears to have been an office building lobby in an earlier life. It is one large room, about two stories high, with floor-to ceiling windows the length of the restaurant, overlooking a terrace and tree-lined lake. A good wine selection, but pricey."

  • "2941 never disappoints. The gorgeous grounds, including an extensive koi pond sets the tone -- and everything else follows suit. Lovely bar looking out into the woods--nice beers on tap. Our halibut and risotto and mushroom broschetta were all delicious and served perfectly. The server even made a fuss over our friends' wedding anniversary, which we were celebrating. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Dinner was good, but not great. Presentation was creative and interesting, but too much butter used to cook the dishes, not very healthy. would like to see more creative ways to make dishes healthier with less fat content. Also very limited vegetarian choices."

  • "Spent our 3rd year anniv dinner at the restaurant where we had the wedding. The restaurant is as romantic as we remember. The menu is new and ambitious. Didn't think the ravioli with duck worked that well together but the rest of the meal was on point as usual. We always enjoyed dining here. We especially appreciate the yummy dessert the restaurant prepared to celebrate the occasion. The service is outstanding."

  • "I don't normally have the time to fill these out.....and this is the first time I've done so.....but I had to tell you: the food was the best tasting food I've ever eaten. I ate there twice last week and had both the lamb and then the halibut......and they were out of this world. The Calimari was unbelievably good. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "We went in for father's day dinner. Everything we ordered were delicious, from appetizers to main courses. then adding wines and cocktails, our bill easily added up to almost $200 for only 2 adults and one kid. This is quite pricy, even though I love the food a lot, we will come back but only for special occasions. Their waiters/waitresses do not seem "well" (or "overly", depend on how you look at it) trained, they are quite relaxed and polite. They did not frequent our table unnecessarily, which I liked. In addition, I saw several kids, none is small kid. Overall it is very quiet. I'm sure they welcome kids. Just perhaps when kids make big noise some may raise eyebrows."

  • "The Tahoe Tweezer was really nice and floral with the St. Germain and the Cosmonaut was out of this world! The Crispy Calamari was tender and perfectly cooked. The Tuna Tartare was fresh and creamy; the avocado was so light and creamy in its whipped consistency and a great complement to the tuna on top. The Smoked Burrata Ravioli was excellent; the olive oil added an element of taste. The Crescent Duck Breast was very good and came with a quinoa and strawberry glaze, though the baby kale salad was a little too chewy. The Chocolate-Peanut Baked Alaska was good the peanut butter ice cream was delicious and went well with the chocolate biscuit and caramel ganache but what really made this dessert best was the warmed carmel-glazed banana."

  • "My wife and I were celebrating our 44th anniversary and were looking for a memorable dining experience. 2941 provided that kind of experience. We both chose the tasting menu and every course looked good and tasted even better. The service was attentive but not intrusive. All in all we had a memorable dining experience."

  • "I would rate it that. The sommelier (not just wine, but cocktails as well) was informative and humorous. The "Thai me up, Thai me down" is a gin drinker's fantasy. With a lime leaf frozen into one ice cube and a watermelon cube as the other, the drink offers a unique look and a treat. The "Gov't Mule" - dark rum and ginger beer was also tasty. The appetizers (beet salad, tuna tartare) were really fresh. The proteins on our entrees (ribeye, lamb) were delicious. One side dish was a hit (corn Dauphine - think cream corn as a fried dumpling), one a miss (gnocchi). Dessert (dark chocolate w/ mango) was orgasmic. Our server (Jessica) was attentive but mindful of our privacy. The setting sun was a spectacular scene thru the glass windows."

  • "It took our food more than 45 minutes to come but when it did, it was great. Our server was really nice but not that attentive until we started looking at our watch and then at him. It seemed as though he had too many tables and was becoming agitated with a couple of tables and their continuous wine changes. We also loved that although they didn't have kid friendly items on the menu, they still had some options available for them. The Koi pond and waterfall added to a beautiful night."

  • "Took my wife here for our 27th anniversary. Perfect. Great food and presentation. Excellent wine and on-menu pairings. Would recommend for a couple celebrating a special event. Not inexpensive -- but worth it for those occasions."

  • "Always a pleasure to dine here. The food is well prepared and presented. Our waiter (James) was a cut above and truly a leading reason for our enjoying the experience."

  • "This is still a very lovely restaurant, but unless you know about it, and even if you do, it is a little obscure! The setting is lovely, the food is outstanding and the service is competent, attentive and not invasive. The Caesar salad is a work of art. The Steak Tartare is one of the best I've ever had. Mains were soft shell crabs, which were battered and fried, but so crisp and light! Desserts were disappointing, however. Still, highly recommend this hidden treasure. Why not go after an early movie at Angelika...it's only about 5 minutes away!"

  • "The food was amazing. The view and the decor was even better. They had high ceilings, a view of the water, amazing artwork, and floor to ceiling windows. The food was delicious, inventive, and creative. They accommodated allergies well. This was for a special occasion, and the place was fit for an important event. I do not drink, and the bartender came up with an amazing mock-tail that fit my pallet. Our main server was inattentive, but his team tried to make up for it. He had a large party, and I understand that he was busy. However, the service still feel short. We will come back here, and probably for my birthday. I wish the server tried less to sell me on his personality, and worked harder to do his actual job."

  • "My friends and I were looking for a restaurant to go to for dinner on our prom night. This restaurant came up on the google search page. I saw the photos of the waterfall, koi fish pond, and the lake, and I knew this is the place I would love to eat dinner and take pictures for my senior prom night with my friends. I had a really high expectation of this place. When we arrived, we were SO impressed by everything. We had so much fun taking pictures near the waterfall. I would love to go here again for special occasion! Definitely would recommend this restaurant to all my friends!"

  • "I had a lovely lunch with my granddaughter to celebrate her college graduation. The food was superb, as always. I tried "The Daffy" sandwich - Outstanding! Kudos to person who came up with the idea of a ground duck burger. The lunch was pricey, but for a special treat it was the perfect place."

  • "We had a marvelous dinner at 2942 Restaurant on my birthday. I opted for the chef's tasting dinner with wine pairings. Excellent choice. The food here is always excellent. We have frequented this restaurant on numerous special occasions over the years. We particularly like the floor to ceiling glass exterior walls. Quite the view, since the building is surrounded by trees, nature and water. Beautiful koi pond out front near the valet parking--can park yourself as well. The service is always friendly, informative and prompt. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion."

  • "The duck breast with raspberry glaze was exquisite: tender. moist, and just enough heat to make it memorable: complemented admirably with the quinoa and charred veggies. Halibut with mushroom sauce and creamed potatoes was just as exquisite. "

  • "We tried 2941 for our anniversary dinner this year. We were seated by the windows overlooking the lake and had great service and wonderful food. I would highly recommend this restaurant, the food was excellent, great bread and a very good wine list. "

  • "2941 is an elegant and beautiful space, both indoors and outdoors. We loved it so much we decided to get married there, before we even tasted the food! We've now had dinner there twice and we are looking forward to treating our wedding guests to an amazing dining experience! "

  • "Mothers Day brunch. Food was fantastic (go tuna tartar1), but service was impersonal and rushed; not right a $75/person meal."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "The food and service were outstanding. However, I would not return to the restaurant due to the Valet Parking service treatment of the vehicle. They played with the electronic system to the point that the car had to be taken in for service to correct all the changes they made in trying to override the voice activation system for making telephone calls. Be careful with your auto if you use this restaurant."

  • "Mother's Day 2014 was my worst experience in about 12 visits to this restaurant. It was clear their goal was to get people in and out as fast as possible. You expect that from a chain restaurant, but not a restaurant like 2941 on a holiday like Mother's Day. We ordered from the 3 course prix fix menu and within 20 minutes of walking in the restaurant, we had our entrees on the table. The service was bad. We had to get up and fetch our own bottle of wine because our waiter never came back after the dinners were served. During dessert, we had to ask another server to send our waiter over to order some coffee because we hadn't seen him. And most surprisingly, the restaurant now adds a 20% service charge for tables of 4."

  • "Though the tasting menu was good, it was not exceptional and certainly not worth the money spent, as all 4 of us left hungry (3 of the 4 are thin and don't eat much). It was a bit of a disappointment. Also, in order to do the tasting menu, the entire table had to participate. It took a long time for all the courses (2 1/2 hours). I have had better tasting menus elsewhere that were both better quality and left full rather than hungry. Overall, the food was okay, but I would not return as I don't think it is worth the price or the wait or quantity of food. One of my guests participated in the wine pairing. In some cases, the wine had nothing to do with the food being served. It seemed more random than an actual pairing. "

  • "We did the 5 course menu and we were amazed. Several of the selections were not items I would have ordered off the menu, which is exactly why we tried the tasting menu so we could try new and interesting food. Each course was perfect. The portions were exactly the right amount for the meal. The waiter provided the right level of attention and explanation of each course without hawking over us. Will definitely be there again. On a lesser note, the wine selection was mostly new and under performing wines which was disappointing."

  • "This is the third time we have dined at 2941 and it has become my wife's favorite place for a special occasion. We have had lots of fun with the tasting menu and paired wines, finding it enjoyable to try some very new things. Every time the food has been excellent and filling. It is a great place for a special meal where you have time to relax and linger. It is a unique haven in Falls Church."
