2941 is a great restaurant, especially for special occasions. Most aspects of the dinner were very good, however we did feel the prices did not match up with the food/experience. It's a bit expensive for what you get.

We enjoyed a delightful dinner, halibut was the best according to husband and grandson, other entrees also were delicious--waiter was perfect, only dessert was a bit skimpy to be shared by two, otherwise just yummy, we plan on going back.

Marvelous food. Excellent hostess. Acceptable table service. Valets were rushed and crabby. The sommelier completely ignored my price limit when I asked for help choosing wine--not one bottle she recommended was $50 or under. And, the wine prices seemed high. So, the food was as good as ever, the room is lovely as is the view, but other things have slipped from previous visits. I'd still return as this is my first disappointment there.

Our table got the Tasting Menu with Winr Pairing. Everything was delicious! I did not like the cobia as well as the other items but that is a matter of personal preference. The lobster carbonara was fabulous--my favorite. The chocolate pecan bar was a delight and surprisingly light. The wines were all excellent but the Pino Grigio really surprised me as I normally do not care for it. All in all a wonderful evening.

We usually go with the tasting menu because it is always an amazing meal, but this time we tried 2 small bites, 2 apps, 2 app size pastas, and 1 dessert. They were all truly outstanding. We are always happy when we have at least one "wow" moment in a meal -- we had SEVEN at 2941!! Oh, and the sommelier Jonathan ... well we could talk to him all night. Of course he chose the perfect wine, somehow bridging our different palates.

This restauarant, as always, was a wonderful experience and the perfect venue to bring visiting family and meet friends. The prix-fixe menu was quite reasonable. Had the beat salad with goat cheese, rockfish, and lemon dessert. The table also ordered the mushroom tartine, which is extraordinary. My brother has a mushroom allergy but tried it anyway because it was worth the risk. The menu and cocktail list turn over just enough to warrant coming back every other month to see what's new.

I was there twice during the extended Restaurant Week--once for dinner and once for lunch. One of us at lunch ordered (not from the Restaurant Week menu) the octopus salad, which she crowned "outstanding." The gazpacho--more textured than in many restaurant--was excellent as was the pork loin. The bread never quite measures up to the early days of the restaurant (when retired opthamologist Dr. Krim mentored it), but the bread this time--oddly, at lunch rather than at dinner--came very close.

Restaurant Week with my 5 or so non Restaurant Week visits. It was busier. 4 of 6 dishes were outstanding and the other 2 were good. For other diners navigating the Restaurant Week menu, strongly recommend the salmon tartare, sweet corn ravioli, and lemon fritters! Service great as always.

I was truly excited to experience this place however the only thing that truly made this a 3 was there salmon in chorizo and mussel sauce smelled like there was too much old bay or like there could be crab in it. But when I exchange the entree for the chicken duo, I was quite impressed with the flavors. The best things were: The complimentary donuts String beans Table bread Skin on the roasted chicken breast

A friend has been recommending this restaurant, so figured we would drive a bit further away from DC to try this place out. Food was absolutely phenomenal, service less so, but over all the food won us over. The place had complimentary valet parking, you could also park your own car --which we did -- but was a little bit of a longer walk. The waiter took forever to take our order, and another person ended up serving us water and apologizing for the slow service before our waiter could get to us. Service was a little bit more up to speed after that, but the waiter look like he couldn't care less. Food however, was amazing! I loved the tuna tartare, shrimp Risotto with Buddha hand fruit, pork loin (cooked to perfect tenderness).

We had the restaurant week menu and the selections were fair, nothing special. 4 of us went and we had all 3 entrees. Nothing great. Small portions, not very tasty. Even desert was blandf. If I had paid full price I would have been extremely disappointed. Don't care if I ever go back.l

Took my wife to 2941 for our 2nd wedding anniversary; I knew she enjoyed their offerings but I had never been. Beautiful restaurant with surprisingly great views for being in the middle of an office park! Everything we ordered was fantastic. We started with the tuna tartare with avocado and calamari, and for entrees we both went for steaks - she with the ribeye, venison for me. I can't even specify what it was in particular that was great, just that everything was. If I had any complaint at all, it'd be that my venison was bedded on too many mushrooms and too few of the amazing roasted figs. Even the Moscow Mule I drank, in its chilled copper mug, was better than I expected! The price was hefty, for sure, but hey, special occasion.

2941 did not disappoint. We've been coming here for special occasions for 8 years. It was as special and wonderful as ever. Great staff, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious food. Beautiful atmosphere. We are used to getting little "chef's gifts" throughout the night (a small starter soup, or carmel corn or cotton candy at the end of the night) and did not receive anything this time--but maybe because it was restaurant week? Didn't matter...still a very wonderful experience. We'll be back!

We've been hearing and reading about 2941 for years but never took the time to check it out--as we weren't sure where it was, even though it was less than 15 minutes away and easy to get to! Restaurant week bargains made the decision for us and we were more than pleasantly surprised. First, the cocktails were superb, which means a lot to me--I'd go back just to hang at the bar and try more of the appetizers. All of the food items on the restaurant week menu were outstanding, the wine list was good and prices more reasonable than expected. Can't wait to go back.

I always look forward to Restaurant Weeks and most especially to dining at 2941. The atmosphere of this place is very happy plus of course the food is always very creative. I enjoyed the tasty Gaspacho soup served to the main entre of the rockfish to the right-size dessert selection. The service is friendly and comfortable. I have brought my daughter here and on a separate occasion, my husband and we all had a great time. The lush garden outside just makes it such a pleasant dining experience. We were a bit surprised that a restaurant that rates so highly on Zagat had NO tablecloths. But our worry was for naught. The appetizer, the entree, the dessert and the coffee ALL EXCEEDED expectations. This executive chef is outstanding and this definitely is a four star restaurant. Other than the lack of tablecloths, the lighting for dinner was the same lighting that they have for lunch, ie. bright. What's up with that? Turning down the lumens will add some romance while saving on electricity, thus a no brainer. But I recommend this culinary destination to every foodie in the area.

Dined at 2941 this past Friday during restaurant week. The restaurant was still crowded at our arrival time of 9:30. I like to see that. They did not appear to be serving from their regular menu and only presented the Restaurant Week menu. That was not a problem, as their choices were all good for us. The tomato salad was delicious and the gazpacho was almost better. Boyfriend and I shared and couldn't decide which was the top choice. We both had the grilled rockfish which was the best fish dish we've had in a long time! We were both glad we order it each, as I know I wouldn't have shared mine. Dessert was equally delicsious, with the lemon fritters maybe edging out the chocolate cake. A wonderful evening at a restajurant we love!

We went during Restaurant Week, when the only menu on offer was the RW menu, but the options were varied and well-selected and all of our dishes were delicious. We also had an expertly chosen bottle of wine (Albariño) that complemented all of our food perfectly We were in the smaller of two dining rooms, without the lake view, but it was dark, so less important. We look forward to going back and sampling the full menu in the main dining room.
