A word from 25 Lusk
25 Lusk is a sophisticated, approachable fine dining restaurant specializing in seasonal contemporary American cuisine. All of the original exposed brick and massive timbers are still in place, creating a warm and inviting ambiance while maintaining the building's classic, industrial aesthetic.
The 9,800-square-foot space includes 120 seats in the main dining area, a spacious lower bar and lounge level, 30-35 seats in the private dining area, semi private dining for parties up to 14 people and a community dining table.
Perhaps the most unique element of the 25 Lusk transformations is the open space which allows soaring steel fire orb flues to pass from the main dining level to the lounge below. This design unifies the two-level space while still allowing each level to exist as a distinct venue. 25 Lusk's one-of-a-kind basement level bar and lounge offers a stylish and contemporary setting with an expansive selection of classic and modern cocktails.

Diner Reviews
  • "This place had amazing food! Everything was so delicious and unique, I have never tasted food like that. Definitely a treat. We were also on a time crunch and they were extremely accommodating. The service was incredible, and personal. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice evening out, and even family friendly, I saw children. Unfortunately I didn't sit at the bar or lounge but I assume it's incredible as well. We did order wine bottles and they have a great selection. Thank you lusk and to our server with a nice accent haha. I would go again :)"

  • "We had a wonderful lunch there on Wednesday. Great whiskey selection!"

  • "They did give me a wonderful table in a quiet area of an otherwise very noise place. My date's duck was fatty and stringy. My rack of lamb was average and I have had much better. The fingerling potato side was very fatty."

  • "I have never been here before, but I won a $100 gift card. I don't normally get to eat at restaurants of this quality, so this was truly a treat. Every dish was amazing. We ordered many smaller dishes and one large dish from the menu, and there wasn't one that was less than great. The ingredients used were all very different and all blended together perfectly. The decor and ambience was so welcoming and comfortable! If you can afford the menu, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!"

  • "I was hoping for something more creative and tasty then we found. The menu is American, but the selection was limited. Worse, the items that we picked (pork shank for my wife and Ravioli for me) was not that exciting, or tasty. I wouldn't say people should avoid this place, just go for the drinking, friends, and atmosphere; not for the food. The service was well within the acceptable range."

  • "We went for a late dinner after a show. Venue is very chic and modern, lots of exposed wood and circular fireplaces out of the 70s. Asparagus with crispy soft egg was a great reinterpretation of a French classic. Egg had been poached, rolled in breadcrumbs and then deep fried. Perfectly done, with warm yolk running over greens and a brown butter hollondaise. Chicken fried quail was excellent, though the lardo was really too much: an ice-cream scoop of fat to go with an already fatty dish? My wife had serious food envy, even though her duck was perfectly cooked and tasted great."

  • "As a vegetarian, I know full well that I am walking into a limited menu. What they offer, is simply amazing. Working with Waiter, Steven & Wine Director, Cezar, I always enjoy my evenings at 25 Lusk."

  • "25 Lusk is outstanding! Chef Matthew Dolan is so creative, taking common ingredients but using them in unique and increible ways. Every dish was a true foodie experience. Service was extremely attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely go back and recommend it any one looking for a great dinning experience."

  • "From the moment we walked in, we both felt welcomed. The drink menu was really fun, too. Yummy choices! I am vegan and found that the staff didn't bat an eye and came up with some great suggestions. My friend and I were blown away by the flavorful food. Fresh, perfect really letting the flavors come through! Also a restaurant where you can have a conversation and not struggle to hear, priceless!"

  • "My CEO was entertaining special Executives from Japan so Nathan the event coordinator did an outstanding dinner plan which made the event great, fun and entertaining. The comments we receive was the food was excellent, the service was excellent and everyone had a fabulous time. Paul our server did a great job in making everyone feel welcomed. I highly recommend 25 Lusk for those special dinner plans."

  • "It was fabulous. Service was on point, food was on point and ambiance was great. I love how they play oldies in the background. Great touch."

  • "The raw wood, large solid beams are a great contrast to the stainless steel, glass and fluted fireplaces in the bar area at 25 Lusk. The specialty drinks were excellent. The service was friendly, informed and responsive. We had the egg/asparagus appetizer with a very smooth, rich sauce that didn't smother the panko cooked (how do they coat a raw egg?) egg. Lamb with parmesan spaetzle was excellent and the tagliatelle was an interesting juice rather than a sauce - different and very good. The desserts, chocolate for them and rhubarb semifreddo for us were also beautifully presented and delicious. We had a good time and it is walking distance. Another great option in SOMA."

  • "25 Lusk has a great vibe. It is very "hip" and feels truly like a cool spot. The bar is downstairs and cleared out by 10"

  • "My friends and I went to 25 Lusk to celebrate one of our closest friend's birthday. The food was amazing but above all, the customer service was impeccable! The staff really went out of their way for us. Would highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "Gorgeous interior with great food and service. This will definitely be a brunch favorite as I know evenings the noise level ramps up considerably. Great cocktail menu."

  • "We usually dine here when we go to the ballet to make it a memorable night. 25 Lusk never disappoints. Food, wine recommendations and service are always top-notch. My wife and I love this place. Parking is never a problem as we use their valet service."

  • "We had a party if 8 for Sunday brunch. We were seated in a private room which was awesome. The food was really good - lobster Benedict for under $20 in San Francisco!? And it was so perfectly done. Excellent French presse coffee. And service was excellent too. Just fantastic. We'll be going back every time we're in the city."

  • "I've been here before in the lounge/bar area and found it very cool, fun, swanky atmosphere. Always wanted to try out the restaurant upstairs for dinner. The design of the building is amazing, so our table was really looking forward to the food. Unfortunately the happy hour bar food downstairs was better than the dinners we had upstairs. All at our table of 6 felt the food was ok but nothing really was impressive. Portions were small, prices were expensive. My duck was rare and way too chewy. If you want to check out 25 Lusk, I'd recommend for Happy Hour, but think twice before having dinner."

  • "Worth every penny! We were a table of 5. The staff was wonderful !! Sommelier was so helpful, he really took his time, and displayed tremendous patience in helping me pick the perfect bottle of Pinot. The food was presented and executed perfectly. When asking if I could trade out one application for another on an entree, the answer was simply "yes!" Sheer perfection. Easily one of the best restaurants in the city!"

  • "25 Lusk had some very good dishes, the shaved celery salad being one. The bread is delicious. Out waiter was attentive and the pacing was good. The hostess was less than friendly; we arrived about ten minutes early for our reservation, the restaurant was nearly empty, and she suggested we sit in the bar until 6:30. Rather than come get us at 6:30, the bartender was given the message and we found our way back to the still underwhelmed hostess stand. The decor is very modern. An unusual space, two story space. Overall, some very good food, excellent wait staff, but nothing to make this restaurant stand out from our many, many good restaurants in SF."

  • "This is clearly a restaurant that prefers young hipsters judging from the other patrons. Three of us, in our fifties but looking good!, were barely greeted. The hostess, who must have been told that her face would crack if she smiled slightly, made us wait 10 minutes for our table; we were 10 minutes early for our reservation. I counted at least 6 tables open but she refused to seat us. "Your reservations is for 7:15." Yes, for real. There were no seats at the bar, we just hung around until the clock struck the exact right minute. Food so so, waiter a bit condescending to the "old ladies." None of this would matter if the food were great. It was not, expect for the pork shank which was wonderful. We spent a fortune…won't go back."

  • "We are an "upper middle aged" couple and were looking for a uniquely different dining experience for last Saturday night. A colleagues from work recommended 25 Lusk and we were not disappointed at all. Nick made an awesome eyhound cocktail for my spouse and Jeremy recommended a perfect wine to compliment our incredibly delicoius dinners. All in all we have a wonderful night out at 25 Lusk and would recommend it for any couple looking for a special dining experience."

  • "We walked into 25 Lusk at 8:30 on a Friday night and the noise was so deafening we almost left. We soldiered on and were seated promptly at a table that was far from the noisy bar (but still not quiet.) The server arrived soon thereafter and, although we could barely hear him, we did manage to place an order. We were glad we did because the food was fantastic: shaved celery salad; shared gnocchi; artic char and braised pork chop; split chococolate mousse dessert. We spent a lot of time with the sommelier and got a fantastic bottle of Sicilian red wine. We must have been the oldest people in the room, as the clientele appeared to consist solely of young tech types. Recommended only if you can tolerate the noise."

  • "The food was amazing. Shared the oysters and octopus and had the steak and lobster, delicious. Service was overall good, they have many different servers, bread, wine, food. Our main server was ok, not too informative she would not come around enough."

  • "Had a wonderful family dinner to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were excellent. The bar knows how to make a proper vodka martini, perfection! The house drinks were also a hit. We had a nice table for our party of 9, private, but not excluded from the ambiance of the restaurant. Loved the modern decor and lighting. The staff from valet to waiter were professional and friendly. Menu was interesting and offered something for everyone. We especially loved the Kale Salad with Tempura Bacon and Pork Ragu starters. Yes I said Tempura Bacon!! To.die.for. The dessert was the only thing I think could use improvement. Beautiful presentation, taste did not live up to expectation. All in all, we would definitely recommend and return."
