I remembered how great the salmon was, and decided to try it again. The salmon was fresh, moist, and delicious. I ordered the salmon burger and 24grille is definitely in my top 2 for salmon burgers. The waiter was attentive and kept glasses full which I loved. Local brews for beer--smart. One of the best aspects was a young, enthusiastic wait-person who, you could tell, was thrilled with the menu and enjoyed her job. We had a great dinner here and would definitely choose this place again when dinning in Detroit. We were surprised at the prices, the quality of the food, and the numbers of groups eating dinner. I guess what I liked the best is that there were people at dinner ready to attend the ball game and the opera. Each was dressed accordingly and each type fit into the scene of this friendly restaurant. This is a restaurant with a great food that is not fussy and stuck on itself.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be returning!We went for Detroit Restaurant Week after brunching there a few months ago. The squid starter was excellent, as was the mahi mahi....perfectly cooked and garnished with a mango salsa. We're not bread pudding fans, but this was excellent, made with Michigan cherries and pistachios. Service was attentive and not rushed. We enjoyed the attention to detail in both the preparation and the presentation of the dishes we devoured. Our waitperson was knowledgeable and attentive and enhanced our dining experience. Good drinks. Nice decor. My favorite things were the sweet potato puree which came with the pork belly-- to die for and a drink called New Fashioned- surprisingly refreshing. Other than that, it was a good restaurant but not amazing. I definitely like the bar area and will be returning to explore the other cocktails. We both LOVED our appetizers- I had the duck confit tacos, and he had The Apple (an amazing salad). For our entrees, he had the hanger steak, which came with potatoes and was generally oustanding. I got the lamb, and wish I had ordered steak. Lamb is my favorite food, but this one just didn't do it for me. I'm pretty sure it was the sauce, which was this super-thick and super-peppery red stuff. And you could mix and match, so if you wanted two appetizers and no dessert, no problem.
