The energy from all the people around was very nice. The wine list was extensive, appetizers were good. Filet was perfect, side dishes were also prepared very nicely. I love the menu and the location. Our service was very good . Only complaint would be the white napkins on blue pants or my girlfriend black pants, lol maybe some black napkins won t hurt. But that is minor. Love the place and can't wait to return. Might try eating across at other s outside dining that you offer. I have eaten at the outside restaurant that is attached to building . We were at a table upstairs on the deck which had a great view. Excellent, polished professional waiter. We were seated near some large parties which made it a bit noisy. Had the Veal Chop this time ... perfect and perfectly prepared. Great side dishes and appetizers too .. and very good wine list .. and extra good service. Our sever Luke has been there for years and his comfort level with recommendations was great as well ... We liked the mood of the restaurant, it was a bit dark inside but had that cool steakhouse type of feel.
We had the calamari as an appetizer and it was OK, salty and slightly rubbery- really have had much better elsewhere. My boyfriend had the duck breast and I had the Delmonico steak. Overall, both our entries were good. He really enjoyed the duck and my steak was good but, again, have had better.

Although our evening had several problems the staff handled everything professionally and exceeded my expectations. Management of the restaurant worked very hard to solve the problems and showed they would like to have me return to the restaurant again. We had a opportunity to experience the appetizers, main course and deserts and all were excellent and worth the time. The service was excellent and the food was good, but when you look at the bill for what you receive overall the menu is overpriced. I ordered the dry-aged Delmonico special medium rare - it came out rare. It has a great feel with many different rooms and areas. They are currently expanding their outdoor seating. The restaurant is located on the water in a fun area of Newport. The food is always great and consistent. Came here for my fiancé's birthday dinner. We got a buffalo crab cake to start, the clambake and the shrimp linguine with truffle lobster mac & cheese for entrees, and the creme brûlée plus butterscotch banana bread for dessert. Everything was over the top delicious. Our server was so friendly and very knowledgeable with the menu. The beer list was surprisingly extensive (we were expecting a good wine list already). Only thing was that the outdoor seating was under construction so the view from our seats wasn't what we expected. We didn't feel rushed and had a wonderful time. It was a suprise for his birthday that I had put together for him. When we got there we were shocked on how quickly we were seated even though we had a reservation for 7:30pm and how friendly the host was and how clean the place in general was. We started with some cocktails and they were great. We had started with two ceasar salads and they were even better. The croutons were amazing. My boyfriend got the 24oz aged porterhouse and I got the 14oz sirlion, each were cooked fabulously. A surprise cheesecake dessert was also given to my boyfriend with a candle. We will be going back soon. The weather was on the warm side for the season and we thought we would shoot over the bridge to enjoy it before the cold weather returned. We decided on 22 Bowens as we have never been disappointed by them. My wife was up for lunch and was very happy with her choice of fish tacos off the lunch menu. I was craving steak and eggs which of course was not on the lunch menu. Valerie, our server, checked with Chef John and came back to let us know that putting together something off menu would not be a problem. In just a moment I was able to select french fries off the lunch menu, a filet off the dinner menu, and supplement them with scrambled eggs with sautéed onions.
