Who knew!!!!We've been to 20 Brix many times. We've camped out with the conversation platter and a bottle of vino. We've thrown down on the shrimp and grits with a bottle of vino. But we went on our self-created weekly holiday, Burger Saturday. Every week we search out another place to enjoy what may be a gourmet burger.
We were BLOWN away by the season burger at 20 Brix. It was a beef and pork burger - AMAZING. It had a red wine thousand island that was phenomenal. It was topped with a smoked aged cheddar. The pomme frites were perfection. We even got a side of the grits - just for fun.
This burger just made it into my top 5 burgers of Cincinnati. SERIOUSLY! This is a burger for burger lovers! To start, the wine and beer list for that matter is extensive and the staff is well versed to help you choose something you will enjoy. Jeff (our waiter) is friendly, patient, and more than happy to take time to explain the wines and food preparations in detail. I will return to 20 Brix often and bestow my highest praise on this establishment. A small outdoor dining area looked comfy with lots of flowers and plants. Try the crab cakes for a delightful light lunch. The wine list is extensive. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Portions are reasonably sized for those who are watching their weight. Foodies will like this place. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant. Many are for purchase as you go out. The food was delicious, fresh ingedients and beautiful presentations. Our server was very friendly, and knowledgable about the wines and she knew how all the food was prepared. She even helped one of our party assemble a nice vegetarian plate. Lots of fresh seafood in Ohio, which i had not expected. A fair number of dishes featured breading - difficult for low-carb diners. Pizza is a sleeper. They are good value but sometimes lacking meat. Server's wine knowledge was fairly good in terms of taste descriptions and pairings. Starter choices were actually more interesting then entrees. Special fish at $28 was very expensive compared to rest if the menu. Desserts were only described orally - difficult to remember without a tray or menu. Environment is very nice and we really liked having a 2oz. by-the-glass option for wine. The ambiance is terrific with the beautiful old fashioned windows looking out onto a lighted patio and all of the cute little shops around town. The wine list is as good as it gets. And the food is some of the best I've had in a long time. There are always some really different and creative options and everything we tried was delicious (we were all trying each other's food). We started with the mushroom bruschetta - very different but so yummy! For entrees we had strip steak, pork blade, seafood boudin and the lamb and all were just wonderful. Make sure you leave room for dessert also - we had one of each at our table and could not decide which was better.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingI am embarrassed to say that mistakenly forgot to complete a review on 20 Brix after my original visit! For that I am sorry. That being said, the restaurant and service (Jeff) is outstanding. I had the 20oz (yes, I was hungry) strip, it was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Being new to the wine scene, I felt intimidated with the vast array of wines available. However, Jeff our waiter saved the day by walking through the wine list and making recommendations. The chef, the manager the staff are always so welcoming .Just a great spot to have dinner and relax!

We started with the Appetizers and got the Chicken Liver Pate with an Onion Jam and Crostine and the Laughing Bird Shrimp with Confit Potatoes -- both were amazing. Thenwe tried the two new salads, the Toasted Farro Salad with Canteloupe, Snap Peas and a Creamy Feta Cheese. The other salad was Baby Kale with Pickled Carrots and Smoked Bleu Cheese. We got 4 different entrees so we could all taste and share. We got the Snap Pea Risotto, The 10 Oz. Strip Steak, The Lobster Roll and The Braised Lamb Shoulder Ciabatta.
