The service is outstanding and the food is wonderful, portions are just right and cooked to perfection. Their crab meat au gratin is outstanding and is a must to try. This fantastic restaurant did an outstanding job from smoothly moving through seating to serving. It was very crowded but the staff handled it well. The staff was efficient and very friendly. The food was excellent, with a wonderful selection for brunch and it stayed fresh and warm. None of this should be a surprise as this restaurant consistently sets a high bar for a fine dining establishment. For starters, you can't beat the shrimp and grits. You feel like your in New Orleans. We are glad we did. For an appetizer we had a new-to-the-menu smoked salmon salad, which was fantatic. Dinner was a creole redfish and the red creole sause was outstanding. I didn't let a drop go to waste. For dessert, we had the homemade brownie with ice cream and caramel, also new and also a winner. Service was impeccable and one of the Johns came around, as always, to ask about our experience after the meal. Nice personal touch! See you all again, naturally! The hostess was a bit rude when we first arrived. But that was the only complaint I can find! It was a great dining experience! However, this particular time I had placed a special request for the staff (hostess, waiter, etc) to acknowledge my daughter's birthday. Her birthday was the reason we were there. Her only request this year was to have a few of her friends and her go to a fancy restaurant so they could feel sophisticated and grown up. (She is 17) As you can imagine I was not happy when not even one single person in the restaurant throughout the entire evening acknowledged her birthday. I was pretty disappointed. The food was incrediable - with great presentation - and the best service - special attention and every detail is conducted by the entire staff at 2-John's - Friday lunch is wonderful - the Trout Almondine is scrumptous - The dining outside is wonderful - the temp was perfect for outside dining.

The experience would have been great except for the lack of organization for the seating process. Very unfair way of seating groups who had been waiting in the entry since before the seating began. We politely stood back as people (many) came in after us and were seated immedietly.
