From start to finish we were both impressed with the quality of service as well as the food. It's costly, but like they say "you get what you pay for". I've spent less on a nice steak dinner, but never returned due to poor service. There were a couple of issues but those were quickly taken care of by the wait staff and manager. One issue was my 18 Market Salad which by menu description is mixed greens with fresh seasonal vegetables and the house vinaigrette. It was indeed mixed greens however the vegetables were freeze dried mushrooms (when did that become "fresh") and what amounted to 2 TBSP of very small diced cucumbers and tomatoes and a very bland vinaigrette. I sent it back and was thrilled with the heirloom tomato/mozzarella salad. The good was better and actually hot this time. Tyler is an exceptional manager. He is the only manager that ever comes to the table and speaks and actually remembers your name every time you visit. I have yet to have the chef come out and speak, which is odd for this type of venue. I wanted something special and took a chance with our first time visit. We were not disappointed. The service, from Amber the Hostess to Karen, our Server was a delight. The food was an outstandingly delicious meal. I chose the 14oz Rib-eye Steak with broccoli and cauliflower. The steak was mouth-wateringly delectable and cooked exactly as I wanted it. I had the "18" Signature Sauce and it was also excellent. My wife had the Sea Scallops which were awesome. We split the Lump Crab Cake appetizer and it was to die for! All in all, this was an exceptionally great meal with world class service. I have done lunch, dinner and most recently, brunch. All were well presented and well received. Not overly pursued on service but tken care of as the need arose.
I highly recommend 18 Steak as a great place to dine out and enjoy a delicious meal.

The food...very good and very pricey. It's probably the most expensive place in Baton Rouge but worth a nice splurge.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and we will definitely be returning in the future to dine here. Service was attentive without being overbearing and I never once felt I had to ask for anything. Drinks were served promptly and water glasses were kept filled throughout the meal. The ambiance is great and it's nice to watch the river outside. Started with the seafood bisque... Very rich, very good. I get it with crab and shrimp only.
The ceasar salad is huge...dressing is more poly than creamy, not sure why it's this big... 4 pple could share this.
Scallops were good not great, a little fishy but that's the exception not the norm. Very nice presentation. The suprise of the meal is the semolina pancake with cane syrup...

Jazz, slow contemporary or something along those lines and a played a little bit lower volume level would have been nice. Also, a lot of the wait staff was huddled around the entrance to the bar and talking rather loudly.

Our waitress did such an exemplary job, I forgot about the wait. I frequently eat at top rated steak houses all over the country and I had the best service ever that I've ever had from our waitress. She was very accomodating to my wife's diet and very enthusiasctic and knowlegdeable about vegetarian options for her. Our waitress' name is Carly, she was really, truly amazing.
