I ordered a steak to share with my sone (who is a year old), and it was very tasty! We ordered the lamb belly for an appetizer, which my husband LOVED. The entire staff was very understanding and friendly to our one year old who was getting a little tired of being there after a while, and I didn't feel like we were rushed at all to get out of there or nervous if we needed walk him around. Its definitely a nicer restaurant that I would highly recommend, but its also a place to take the kids if they're good eaters. I loved that the maitre D was so accommodating as I called to see if we could arrive early and when we walked in they said my name and made me and my party feel at home. And the entree was great. We had the grilled meatloaf and it was out of ths world. The. She crab soup I recommend over the onion soup, however. We were lucky to dine early, giving us the whole rooftop dining area to ourselves. It was very romantic. Despite us being the ONLY ones up top, or waitress was at our table repeatedly to answer questions, fill our needs, and made us feel like her ONLY guests. We started our dinner with the oysters and beef tartare. This was superb! My only regret was when it was gone. For dinner he had the salmon with champagne sauce, delectable! I opted for the lamb ravioli which was full of unique flavors and spice, perfect! For desert the 'creme brulee of the day' rounded off our meal to perfection!! From the she crab soup app to the free dessert for my wife's birthday the evening was amazing ! We were able to catch up without screaming at each other over loud music and the lunch special was VEGETARIAN and fantastic. Two thirds of our group ordered the vegetarian special.

Ample parking close to the restaurant is very convent. The menu is varied with wonderful choices for all tastes. Much of the food is sourced locally so the menu changes with the season. I recommend anything on the menu that combines southern tradition with local flavor. This time, we had out-of-town guests, and all of us were pleased with the food -- especially with the excellent specials and side dishes -- and with the service. We felt that this made the experience and both of us agreed it would have been diminished by being down on the main floor where the tables were fairly close together. The food was quite good with excellent presentation - we liked the She Crab soup which is big enough to share. The entree of shrimp, pork and grits was good if you like a tomato sauce on the sweet side. Trout was very basic, the champagne sauce was essential to the dish. The creme brulee was innovative yet tasted very good - mint leaves on the bottom and mini chocolate chips on the top. Brian, the general manager, stopped by our table to check on us. Jason, the chef/owner, assisted the table next to us with a special request. No lack of management here. Both seemed to really care.
