  • "We enjoyed the evening. The environment was pleasant and quet enough for good conversation. The menu had many tempting dishes from which to choose. The wine list included a good variety at a reasonable price. Wait staff were friendly and available. The food was presented well and was delicious. We declined dessert but was provided with a tiny sweet nevertheless! Definitely will return!"

  • "We started with their appetizer special which was a delicious tomato plate. This set the bar very high. Unfortunately, the entrees didn't live up to the standard set by the appetizer. My steak was so-so and my wife's pork chop was so-so as well. My sister's meal, salmon I think, was very good. The wine was excellent (Tikal Malbec - Argentina). Service was friendly, but not overly attentive. Atmosphere was very nice. Very good place to go either for special occasion or just a night out. I will try this place again."

  • "18 Seaboard was a nice escape from the ordinary eateries that most people frequent. The wait staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. Patrons with a culinary flare would be very pleased with menu items. Entree and other menu Choices were refined and innovative. Atmosphere was casual elegant and geared towards a more adult crowd......which I was happy about. (Nothing like screaming kids running around and disturbing the ambience of a nice "adult" evening out). Manager stayed visible and often sent "samples" of various food items to tables to show appreciation for patronage. A nice evening out. Will go again."

  • "Great view on top but creepy drab not well lighted walk up to it. Food had high & low notes: high- tomato appetizer, side dishes, grilled pink salmo, homemade ice cream. Low- loud table next to us, bread & peach cobbler- all cobbler, maybe what equaled one good slice of peach in it!"

  • "Have been going to 18 Seaboard for quite a while and recommending it to others but most recent experience was a bit disappointing. The food seemed uninspired. She crab soup had little taste and few crab pieces, wife was very disappointed by her shrimp dish. My pork shank had at most a dollop of meat on it and didn't have the juiciness I would expect from this item. The service was attentive but so much so it bordered on "we need your table so let's move along". Based on past experiences I will come back but one more visit like this one will make be think twice about repeat business."

  • "That one word sums up this restaurant. From the smiling hostess, to the happy bartender and to Aaron, or waiter, this place rocked it. The chef must be commendrd for a truly expressive and complete menu. Its not often that I would want every dish listed. We opened with a crestuve mohito with vodka and a sangria with vamilla bean liquor. We had the watermelon gazpacho and heirloom tomato sampler for staryers. Followed by a cracklining pork shank and mouth watering pork chop. Sides were blue cheese grits, and a cheesy potatoes with grilled squash and vidella onions. Ended with a perfectly portioned goatcheese blueberry custard with lemon basil cookies and a nice thick cupaciano. This place made our top 3 places of all time. Enjoy!"

  • "Invited a party of out of town guests for dinner and was sorry to have done so. The creative menu options on offer were not well executed. Cold entrees, bland side dishes, and overcooked deserts, were among the issues. The wine list is extensive, the Fried Green tomato appetizer is exceptional, and the house-made ice creams are particularly nice. Wait staff is beautifully trained, attentive, and service is smooth, but never intrusive. Unfortunately, on this visit the kitchen staff was not up to the task. Overall, disappointing."

  • "I've wanted to go there for a long time but I live in Cary. It just happened that my date that evening lives close to 18 Seaboard. I was extremely disappointed in my meal. The fish was WAY overdone. I'm 62 and eat out at restaurants often. In all of the years I've been dining out, I've never had to use a knife to cut fish. I not only had to use a knife, but it took a lot of effort. It was like cutting the turkey in the movie "Christmas Vacation." I guess I just had bad luck that night because it was certainly crowded. If everyone had the meal that I did, they'd be out of business soon. My sides were edible, but bland. I go to Dean's Seafood often and they would never have served what I was given. I won't be back."

  • "This was our first dinner at 18 Seaboard and it was so good! I had a salad to start then the Filet mignon with taragon butter, rice w/sausage, and potatoes w/goat cheese. It was devine. My husband had the seared tuna w/ chard and no complaints from him. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "My wife and I dined at 18 Seaboard for our 8th anniversary. We've been before, and this experience was just as fantastic as the others. I requested a private table or booth, which they accommodated (the high-back circular booths are very cool). We were warmly greeted at the host stand by the general manager (Brett). He also checked on us and refilled our water glasses at one point; I love seeing a staff that just picks up and meets the needs of the customers regardless of whether it's their job or not. My wife had a very tender beef brisket and had a perfectly cooked NC Wahoo. The goat cheese smashed potatoes and cheddar grits make excellent sides. They provided a complimentary Happy Anniversary cupcake and cookies. We'll be back!"

  • "My wife and I enjoyed our 4th wedding anniversary here. I had the signature pork loin which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My wife had the mahi mahi which was done amazingly well. We thought the mahi mahi needed something extra which the manager, Mark, kindly explained the four sauces to us. Turns out, the butter sauce we chose was the mildest so the manager let us try two of the other more flavorful sauces. Erin, our waitress, was very patient with us as we sampled four different wines before we chose a bottle. So patient was she that even after I mistakenly gave a tiny 10% tip, she never said anything and appreciated that I returned to correct the error upon realizing my mistake as I sobered up."

  • "Took my wife there for her birthday, had not been there in years....it was a wonderful evening. The ambiance was great, our waitress was attentive , not pushy or overbearing, pleasant. The food was top notch, fried green tomatoes were sent complimentary, the pork belly appetizer was almost a meal in itself! Had the trout special on a bed of crabmeat, corn tomato etc, it was YUMMY....my wife had Mahi Mahi with goat cheese mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach, another HOME RUN! Wine was very , very tasty, I'd recommend it as a nice , quiet, special event option for anyone wishing to have a great atmosphere, fine wine and food, and exceptional service!"

  • "While other restaurants have perfectly adequate food, 18 Seaboard goes above and beyond. We had the seared tuna and their classic catfish. They like to change their ingredients now and then but it never disappoints. If you want food that tastes as good as you could make at home, go elsewhere. If you want something that tastes so much better then you could make on your own, and a meal you'll be talking about for weeks, then this is the place."

  • "A small group of three of us went for dinner. We all found the service exceptional as well as the food. I tried the crab bisque as a starter which had wonderful crab flavor. Two of us tried one of the chef specialities; Seared Tuna. The tuna was very flavorful and you get a generous portion too. The whole meal, service, and atmosphere was excellent. I can't wait to come back."

  • "They initially tried to seat us next to the server's station and entrance/exit to the kitchen. I requested a different table and they readily agreed. The vinagrette on the salad was much too tart. The cheddar grits were wonderful. My salmon was cooked well and was very good. My companion's filer mignon came raw in the middle despite being requested as medium rare. It took so long for the replacement filet to come, I had almost finished my meal. They did comp the filet which was appropriate & appreciated. They graciously brought us a "teaser" dessert which was a creme broulet and two small cookies. The cookies were ok, albeit dry, but the creme broulet tasted like soap. Overall not a great experience. I wouldn't return or recommend."

  • "We had a reservation for Friday night at 6:45 but our flight was delayed due to bad weather. We called on arrival and asked if they could still accommodate us. Not only did they go out of their way to do that but even gave us a free (delicious) dessert. The restaurant was very busy but the manager made a point of coming over and making sure we had everything we needed. From the time we walked in to the time we left we were extremely well looked-after."

  • "Hadn't been to 18 seaboard in years, and I have no idea why! The restaurant week $30/three course option was absolutely delicious from start to finish. I especially loved the pamlico sound shrimp with the goat cheese grits and asparagus... the shrimp were smokey, the grits creamy, and everything was the right portion so I felt satisfied but not STUFFED. The strawberry cake for dessert was also a pleasant surprise, as you could really taste the hints of basil in it, balancing out the sweetness. I'm eager to go back and enjoy their main menu, especially since our server and the manager on duty were wonderful, checking on us without pestering. Definitely going back!"
