  • "We were guests at the Inn for two nights. We ate at their restaurant our first night. The ambience was wonderful...you get "the feel" of historic Savannah here. BUT that's where it ends. We ordered fried green tomatoes, escargot, jambalaya, shrimp and beef tips. The fried green tomatoes were good...the escargot was not a viable portion...the jambalaya tasted like it was from a mix and heated and reheated for days...the shrimp was good but the stuff they call risotto is gum. The bill was over $150 dollars. After a 13 hour drive, we were hungry and would (AND DID) have eaten anything! On a good note, the waiter was wonderful!"

  • "Service: When we were seated, the server led us to our table, and waited for my wife to pull her chair and be seated, instead of offering to pull her chair for her. The service throughout the meal was done without a smile, fast like at a diner; they forgot to offer bread, and brought us the check before they asked us if we wanted anything else (we would have ordered coffee). Noise: all the chairs are cracking, so each time someone is seated, or moves the chair, there is a noise that fills the restaurant. Although the food was ok, I would not recommend this place."

  • "Escargots were simply distasteful. Salmon entree was burnt to a crisp and the NY strip was raw, (ordered med rare) but completely purple on the inside. And a very, very tough strip with every single bit of fat and gristle in it. Very sorry we came here on our out of town excursion."

After researching many restaurants for our wedding dinner, my husband and I made a reservation at 17Hundred90 based on the reviews, the menu and the pictures. We really wanted something with a warm, romantic ambiance. We were absolutely thrilled with the restaurant as soon as we arrived. The setting was dark and romantic, with exposed brick, comfortable furnishings and lovely chandeliers throughout. We specifically requested a table near the back wall and fireplace. It felt very much like our own private dining nook. The service was great. Our server greeted us with a huge smile and treated us like royalty all night. The food was cooked perfectly."

  • "I was originally referred to this place by my other friend, then I googled it for vegetarian options and it checked out. I took my girlfriend here for a random Friday night. The tables had flowers, candles, and a piano lit up the back ground. It was extremely romantic. The Black and Blue stake was the best in my life and since she's a vegetarian she had the pasta which she said was quite amazing also. The wine, there were so many options. The staff was funny, genuinely nice, and extremely helpful. They weren't over bearing but they're there when I needed them to be."

  • "Four meals excellent!!! I had Filet which was the worse of the meals at our table. It was only 1" thick, not juicy or medium rare. I have always had excellent Filet there several times before, so I did have a comparison. With 4 others in the party, who all had a fine meal, I did not feel like creating a scene, as the steak was edible---but far below my expectations. Interestingly, the waitress did not inquire as to how my meal was, but she was busy."

  • "We were seated at a cramped table near a doorway even though we arrived just a minute or two before our reservation. The waiter was nice. But, we ordered drinks and they did not arrive for 20 minutes. The appetizer arrived before our drinks arrived. The waiter indicated that the bar was very backed up - however,when the drinks finally arrived, the ice in our drinks appeared to be melted. My steak was not cooked as ordered. I sent it back and it was still undercooked. I did not eat it. The manager did take my steak off of our check. My wife's meal was just ok. The biscuits and honey butter were good. "

  • "17Hundred90 Inn and Restaurant exceeded what I wanted to present as a Mother's day present to my elderly mother. The antique furnishings appealed to my tastes and expectations. I will say, however, since my mom is elderly she was not able to climb onto the beautiful king size bed easily. This certainly is not the Inn's fault. I hope to visit again with friends."

  • "My husband and I were in Savannah this week and found a little advertisement for this restaurant at our hotel. We thought it sounded nice, and gluten free friendly, so we decided to try it. Best decision we could've made! The food was delicious! They had a good gluten free menu, and seemed to have a good understanding of it too. The atmosphere was amazing! There was even live music, a very gifted gentleman playing piano. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ambiance was wonderful. Perfect spot for a quiet romantic dinner. We could not have been more pleased!! If we're ever in Savannah again, I believe we will be back!"

  • "We were seated about ten minutes after our 6:30 reservation time because they were waitning on menus. The restaurant appeared to be maybe half full. After being seated, we were told the specials but when we placed our orders were then told both the specials were sold out - at 6:30 seating! The waiter was very outgoing and the service was great. Unfortuantely the fillet and lamb chops were average. For the price of dinner I expected the food to be fabulous. I live in the Washington DC area and for the price have had much better food."

  • "In Savannah for just a few days; this place was highly recommended. We really enjoyed ourselves; had a drink in the cool bar then on to the main dining room for our 8pm RSVP. Shared the bacon wrapped scallops as a starter (note: only 3 scallops; could have ordered something else) and then our entrees. I had the boursin stuffed chicken, DH the salmon Oscar. Each came with veggies and a starch and all was excellent and well complimented by the bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay DH picked out. Restaurant specialty = honey butter biscuits. They were quite tasty. Didn't have dessert; too stuffed! Would definitely return. They also accept Scrip from NuBarter, which is how we paid. "

  • "We were tourist so we did not know what to expect. This was also our 1st reservation made via Opentable. This restaurant is a true gym in old town Savannah. We had reservations at 6:30 and were seated promptly. Once seated our waiter greeted us immediately and when he took our drink orders he described the "specials". The food was excellent and we never felt rushed even though the restaurant was full. The piano player was super as well. This was a great dining experience and we plan to eat there when we return to Savannah. If you are ever in Savannah this restaurant is a must..."

  • "Food was great and our server was very nice and polite. However, it took the host thirty five minutes to seat us when there were three tables open and we had an 845pm reservation. Also, my fiancé was very disappointed that they were out of the chocolate torte. The server said that next time we come in dessert would be on the house, but he never gave us a coupon or even sent the manager. Doesn't sound very promising. In a good note- my scallops were perfectly cooked, the crab cakes were mostly meat and the filet was fantastic. "

  • "The restaurant had a lot of history and the inside was quite intriguing. It is haunted by 3 ghosts and there were many tours going by the restaurant on their tours. The food was excellent as well as the service. I will definitely go there again when I am in Savannah."

It was a nice, relaxing dinner. We didn't feel rushed, like you do in some restaurants when they're trying to turn over the tables, and got to spend time just enjoying our food and talking to each other."

  • "We have dined at this restaurant numerous times before and were pleased. However, tonight we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Then we waited over an hour for our entrees, which were served warm but not hot. Only one dish was hot, the Boursin chicken (which was overcooked). Seasonings were tasty, but the temperature & service were disappointing. When we reported the temperature problem, the response was tepid. We will not return."
