What does modern, ingredient-driven mean? It’s a different approach to dining and drinking that arose from the way we like to eat. When we go out, we like to try many things, and often we will order an assortment of dishes for the table so we can all taste as much as possible. We get excited when we experience different approaches to food and different styles of drinks. The central theme to our quest; enjoy high quality ingredients that have been skillfully handled to allow the intrinsic quality, flavors, and textures to be expressed.   • "I love the fact that a Happy Hour exists now even if it is for an hour only. We tried the brussel Sprouts and the Shisito peppers which my girlfriend loved! We loved our cocktails, Rosemary Blood Orange is just the best! Everything about this place is just great! Food has a unique spin on things. The cocktails are flavorful with a real kick! I just love going back again and again. Our waiter David is also very informative, loved it! I will keep recommending and returning."

  • "The four of us enjoyed our mixed drinks the most. The staff is friendly and had us order a drink at the bar while waiting for a table. Friday night was busy but not too crowded. The food was decent but nothing to write home about, and a tad pricey. I'd definitely return to try some of the other dishes and drinks."

  • "Had reservations for 2 at 9:30pm on Friday and we were seated quickly. Dining room had a great energy, but not too loud. Ordered 2 drinks, 3 apps, and split an entree. The food arrived promptly, portions were good, and everything was delicious. Check was under $100 (before tip) which is very good value for SF, especially considering the quality. Highly recommend."

  • "Ordering at 1760 is difficult. It took a while to figure out which dishes to choose. All of them sounded so good that it wasn't easy limiting our choices to just five dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious, some dishes were extraordinary. I want to go back to try more on the menu but I may always get the crispy octopus with potatoes. It's the best I've ever had. The lamb and cavatelli was also amazing. In addition to the great food, they also have creative and wonderful cocktails. There wasn't a single misstep in the evening and I look forward to future visits."

  • "I go for the drinks then stay for the food. The mixed drinks are outstanding and inventive and the bartenders attentive. The food while often delicious is just a little precious, particularly the deconstructed desserts. But, all-in-all the four of us had a good time even though the booths are small and we were squished in."

  • "Excellent service. Great quality cocktails which meet NYC standards. the ambiance is very loud. All the dishes were bursting with flavour. The presentation met expectations based on price (that's a good thing!). The only exceptions were the two pasta dishes. They were delicious but unbalanced in the pasta:meat ratio. There was too much pasta not enough crab and lamb respectively. At least the crab offered some satisfying chunks. The lamb was cut into itty bitty dice like a steak tartar. They were a bit tough even in their miniscule format. The menu states that the lamb is slow cooked or braised (I can't remember specific cooking method) for 48 hours. I expected tender shredded or tender large chunks of lamb."

  • "This was our second visit within 7 days, we had to go back & spend a decent amount of time enjoying the cocktails and plates! For cocktails we loved trying the 1760, Pear-Ginger, Basil-Mezcal Sour, Blood-Orange Rosemary, Kumquat-Coconut and Garam-Marsala-Cardamom, all were delicious! Can't go wrong, the Bartendar came from Aziza which is why we see the herbal, or spiced infused flavors in the drinks. LOVED the Maccheroni with Dungeoness, the Lobster Ceviche, Brussel Sprouts and the Pork Belly dishes!!! For dessert, get the deconstructed S'more, it was call Chocolate Ganache. I plan to go back and take another friend so she can enjoy the great experience we had. Our waiter David was friendly, informative and just great!"

  • "I had one of my (or the) best dining experiences in SF at the mother ship, Acquerello. Hearing this was a project naturally drew us in. We were very disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. The service was OK. Back to the food, the only thing that seemed decent was the Brussels Sprouts, and I ordinarily don't even like them. The steak tartar was rather dull and flavorless. The topper was dessert. We ordered the carrot cake, which seems pretty basic and predictable. One can either do a good job or not as good, it's hard to mess up in my mind. What we got was literally a dusting of crumbs with a few dollops of, what was actually tasty pumpkin, ice cream. Actually, the topper was the check."

  • "We had a great experience at 1760 - their focus on flavors is amazing, from the crafted cocktails to the food. We loved every bite of everything we ordered (particularly the cod fish liver mousse, the octopus, and the uni pasta). The rosemary blood orange cocktail was also to die for. Service was outstanding, decor was subtle yet modern, and the entire experience was positive. Can't wait to come back!"

  • "We had a nice dinner at s1760 on Wednesday night. We shared 2 vegetable plates and 2 meat plates, which was plenty. The flavors were good and varied, the pasta was house made and delicious. The restaurant was busy, fairly noisy, a youngish scene. The wine list featured an Italian vintner who was present to speak to diners on this evening, a really nice feature."

The only reason I do not give 5/4 stars on food and service respectively is the bad quality of bread they had and the fact that we had to wait for over 40 minutes to get seated even though we had reservations. They apologized for the delay but did not offer a dessert to compensate us for the inconvenience."

  • "I LOVE Acquerello. Besides Quince, it's my go-to special occasion restaurant in SF so I was thrilled to see the empire expand with 1760. The interior is gorgeous, chic, modern - a bit like NOPA. The wines by the glass are quite good - unusual and high quality - but the selection is limited and the prices on the higher end (mostly $13-$15, not awful but not great). Cocktails ($12-13) are works of art, incorporating unusual spices (cumin, nutmeg, caradmom, etc). The food was, for the most part, delicious. I don't typically like octopus but it was amazing! Same for the short rib. The only disappointment was the lamb pasta - oily and gamey. The main downsides are parking (none) and price - this is easily a $150-200/couple restaurant."

  • "San Francisco is known to be a city of good restaurants and we were looking forward to this meal. Unfortunately,we were very disappointed. We did not enjoy any of the plates we had : the brussels sprouts were served as separate leaves that were so fried and greasy they did not taste like vegetables anymore, the burrata was served melted on toasts and had lost its freshness and characteristic half solid texture: uninterresting and tasteless, the cavatelli with lamb only tasted of garlic, etc. There was no balance in the plates. It appears that there is no real chef running the kitchen."

The food was delicious with lots of new flavor combinations; it was a great food experience. They have lots of half bottles of wine from around the world, we had a wonderful Barbara di Alba. The servers were knowledgable and friendly; I would highly recommend this restaurant to all the foodies out there."

  • "So many great options on the menu.... Food portions become larger and richer as you go down the list. Options are full of flavor and well decorated on plate. We ordered lobster ceviche, yellowtail hamachi, grilled octopus, pork belly. The choices were delicious I think we needed one more option such as the duck sandwhich to satisfy my hunger. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great."

  • "Design and ambiance are brutalist-warehouse-minimalist. Noise level is not conducive to easy conversation. Menu is strange mixture: monkfish liver, uni (again!); pastas; octopus; Brussels sprouts (with some type of sour sauce); etc. Good wines, pleasant and helpful service, although one has to ask for bread. High prices. Definitely not for the traditionalist, or for someone looking for a lower key Acquerello."

The lamb pasta was delicious, but the lamb very sparse in the dish. We will definetly return to try dishes we didn't have ."

Other than that the atmosphere was fun and the food was ambitious, good and interesting, although a bit odd. But not nearly as memorable as the the last visit a few months ago, when everything was tell-your-friends great."

  • "My first experience at 1760 was so fantastic, I will absolutely be back soon. The food was delicious and the service was superb. Isabella, the Manager stopped by our table multiple times to check-in and describe our dishes. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts, Kale Lollipop, Octopus (rated at as a must eat dish by 7X7), and the Maccheroni. Additionally we chose to get a palate cleanser before dessert, which was a buttermilk ice cream with sea salt over a citrus salad. I think that might have been the best way I have ever ended a meal. Not to mention that their specialty cocktails are cutting edge/delicious and the wine list is incredibly robust. Thank you to the 1760 team for a wonderful dining experience!"

  • "We chose several dishes to try. Some where exceptionally good and others very disappointing. The server did not have a clue how to pace the orders. He brought out the dishes too fast almost all at once and trying to fit all that on such a small table was almost impossible. You felt you had to rush eating just to make room for the dishes. Place was way too noisy making it difficult to have a conversation. Overall, it is an ok experience. Not sure I will be returning anytime soon."
