"We booked this for Easter brunch. We arrived a little after 1PM. When I first walked in, I kind of had a feeling it might not be good since no one was there to greet us when we arrived. After sitting at the table, it took a while for the waiter to get to us to even take our drink orders. He kept walking by saying he would be there in a minute. Long story short, we were there 2 1/2 hours and most of that time was spent waiting for food. It was ridiculous. Needless to say, the food wasn't even worth the wait. I would not recommend this restaurant at all."

"I took my mother and my 12 year old son to the restaurant for Easter brunch. I was extremely irritated when we were charged almost $20 additional for a tea (which was never refilled), a coffee, a milk, and an orange juice, especially after I paid full price for my 12 year old son.

In addition, the restaurant added a 20% gratuity for a table of 3. If I were to leave a tip on my own, I would have left only 15% at best as the service was extremely slow, drinks were not refilled, and dessert was a serve yourself mini buffet.

I eat out on a regular basis at some of the best restaurants in Houston and NY and the food on the Easter brunch at 17 was marginal at best and not at all worth the $158 I paid in total."

"The food was excellent, but it was obvious that the restaurant was severely understaffed. Only one waitress had to take care of the entire restaurant, which was impossible to do. She was assisted by an amateurish busygirl. We waited for 45 minutes to receive our first course. Our entrees arrived before our first course plates had been removed. The manager seemed to be unable to get things under control."

"Expected more choice as we had booked for Sunday Brunch. We were seated in the breakfast area. Picture online was of the proper restaurant. Staff seemed suprised that we were there for brunch although they did offer brunch menu when asked."

"Our food was exceptional, my wife's filet was cooked to perfection and the flavor on my pork tenderloin was wonderful. The sides were excellent, the sauteed onions were my favorite part of the meal. Our server was helpful when needed, never pushy and gave us plenty of space and time to enjoy our dinner and time together. I wish I could remember her name but I can't; she helped make the dinner a success."

"Six of us went to celebrate my husband's birthday. The restaurant was nicely decorated, but the waiter had no idea what he was doing. He got about 50% of the orders wrong and kept forgetting to bring things to the table, even after being asked, and the restaurant was not even busy. There was us and two other tables occupied. The food was mediocre, my cheese and mushroom omelet was served lukewarm and there was no cheese in it, go figure. We were told that the chicken in the chicken and waffle was only drum sticks so it wasn't ordered, but we saw other tables getting chicken breasts, which was irritating.

Pricey for what you get, service was not so good, therefore we will not be going back it was very disappointing."

"I've been to 17 many times and usually had great food. Upscale restaurants often change menus and chefs, and for Valentine's day 2012, the combo was bad. The prix fixe menu options were not great, and the options I did have just didn't taste good. Pair that with the 95 per person price, and not a good experience. I'll go back someday, but I'll have to do more research prior."
