  • Parking Details: There are a number of parking spots available for 16 Mile Taphouse guests in the Washington House Condominiums garage.
    The entrance is on E. Delaware Ave.
    If our private garage in the Washington House Condominiums is full, there are more than 550 parking lot spaces within easy walking distance, in addition to metered parking right out front.

  • "We hit 16 Mile before the UD Almuni "Mug Night" party (since it was former Stone Balloon). Great call! Our server, James, patiently described ALL beers on tap. Opted for Old Court Ale (6.1%), which paired perfectly with a fantastic dinner. We started with recommended app - the Crab Pretzel - outstanding! Then the House Burger grilled right to temperature with the best french fries I've ever tasted. Look forward to visiting again to explore food and tap menus. "

  • "I decided to try for lunch after looking at menu and saw fish and chips, but alas when we sat down for lunch, no fish and chips on lunch menu... Only dinner. The fish tacos were good, but over-priced and did not really substitute. I'll go back to my stand-by brewery in the same neighborhood."

  • "Service, food and atmosphere were all very good. Second floor dining is quiet with a nice view. The server said the special of the night was salmon but the fish served definitely was not salmon, although it was delicious. I am not a big fan of brussel sprouts but the sprouts served with the fish were wonderful. Everything is fairly upscale except for the bright yellow t-shirts worn by the waitstaff. The restrooms are designed for one person at a time so there can be a line to use the facilities. While the 16 Mile Taphouse is nice it was nothing special. With so many other restaurants to choose from in the area this one didn't stick out as one of the best or one of the worse. I would try it agani but I am in no hurry to do so."

  • "This is the second time I have dined at the 16 mile taphouse, and will likely be my last as far as dining is concerned. I really like the atmosphere and the location. However the first time I went they ran out of rum, completely. They were also out of over half the desert items. We made the best of it and I still had a great cheesecake for desert. We decided to try it one more time for a birthday dinner and again this time they listed only 1/2 the desert menu, excluding my favorite cheesecake - which is really what I had come back for. The menu is pretty small and with the constant lack of options we have run into I think I am done trying to have a meal here. I do feel it would be a fun place for happy hour and a couple of beers."

  • "We ate here on a Wednesday night when it was snowing outside, so it was pretty quiet. Food (a burger and a sandwich, with fries) was good - the highlight was Peking duck spring rolls (from the pub menu). We were disappointed to find out that they don't serve dessert. We were most excited to try the beer, since it's local to Delaware, and we were not disappointed. The imperial stout and oyster stout were both great. (Oyster stout we tried by recommendation from our server. Much appreciated!)"

  • "We chose this restaurant because of its vast beer menu and bc it had sandwiches and a filet mignon on the menu. Unfortunately the filet was removed from the menu when we arrived and replaced by a sirloin. Big disappointment. The the sandwich lover was still happy. All in all we were all pleased that the prices for bottled beer were so reasonable! $3 for a Blue Moon, $2 for PBR. Love the flights of craft draft beers available. Can't wait to try this place again in the summer and sit outside. Hoping the drafts will be fruity and light for the flights. Our husbands left with growlers full of their favorites from the flights! Our server Jamie was awesome and attentive. He knew all about the beers and was able to recommend when we were unsure."

  • "Not only is the food wonderful!! There is many, many beer choices, a few wine choices, and specialty drinks (and a full bar). The restaurant is 'born' from the brewery in Georgetown, DE which is also a great place to visit (without the great food)! Not a huge restaurant on main st so make reservations on OpenTable if busy time."

  • "This was our first visit. We were surprised that there was not a larger selection of beer on tap. The bulk of the beers were in cans or bottles. I made the reservations last minute and still was seated immediately. The food was wonderful and the portions were good. We would go back."

  • "We went on a friday night so you would expect some slow service. Our waiter made no real effort to care for his tables and when he did come made it seem like we were bothering him. We was attentive well after the meal came and closer to bill time. The food was decent, nothing that I would crave and keep me coming back for . I'll give tis another try but after that I leave this place to the beer drinkers."

  • "The Drunken Clams were wonderful, and my dining partner enjoyed her salmon. The rock fish I ordered, however, could have been fresher, although the brussel sprouts and cheddar grits served with it were delicious. Drinks orders were slow to make their way to us from the bar, but it was a busy Friday night. The carrot cake was very nice, with a topping of candied peanuts. The prices put this restaurant into the 'special occasion' category for me, and I will be back."

  • "We have dined at the restaurant several times and have had a good experience, however, we dined there last Sunday night. It was a slow night for the restaurant and we still had slow service sitting at the bar. I always get the bison burger with roasted red peppers. they brought out a blue cheese burger. when i told them it was not the right burger. they brought out a side of roasted red pepper sauce. and $12 for a glass of wine at the bar! not good. we probably won't be back for some time."

  • "Our dining experience is now my third and final trip to this restaurant. I truly enjoyed this location under the previous name, Stone Balloon Wine House; however, now that is 16 mile, my experiences lead me to not be interested in returning. Even though we made a reservation through open table, we still had to wait to be seated. When we were finally placed at a table, we did not receive service or so much as an acknowledgement for almost ten minutes. We timed it. We selected our whole meal while waiting for the server to get to our table only to find the entrees we wanted were unavailable (in addition to the wine I wanted). Service was spotty, food was good but overpriced. Go to Taverna instead."

However, someone in my group was a vegetarian and was limited to a spicy black bean burger or requesting to remove the meat from one of their salads. Beer was very good. I stuck to the stouts and they were all good. Will definitely go back."

  • "We walk in and find a dude with a Raiders Jersey/flat brim hat and company sitting at bar drinking cheap beer. Place needs dress code, even at bar! Management, Management, Hello??? How on earth do you not have your most expensive entrees on a Saturday night? No duck, No Venision. No Pretzels for the crab pretzel or buffalo dip. and to top it off, No tickets for parking validation. Management would get an F! However, Food was great and our waiter, Alex, was awesome. If you want to be top notch on Main St. the management needs to step it up. Would not rush back."

  • "Joseph and Dustin do a super job with customer service. Always feel comfortable dinning there. It was nice to see a mixed age group. The young crowd is well behaved. My wife and I dined at your place this past Saturday evening. Had a great time sitting at the bar having drinks, appetizers, and a full dinner. Joseph always makes us feel like we are visiting family. Dustin makes a point of coming over to greet us any time we come in. Keep up the good work."

  • "The night started off on a bad note. I had thought by making reservations they would know We were serious diners. They showed us To our table in the bar area at a high top table. We had Asked to be seated in the dining room and the hostess went off to ask Someone & came back to say that was not possible. The Dining room was empty!!! I had the bison burger. I asked it to be prepared Medium and it was well done. Two other diners had the bison as well and it was more well Than Medium. One person had a salad which would left a lot to be desired. As we finished our diner, amazingly they were seating folks In the dining room.. we will not be returning."

  • "I feel jipped!!! Your asian salad was a vinegary mess. There was no balance, just limp cabbage, soft carrots and pickled onions. The dressing was wrong and it was topped with four sad shrimp. For $17 the portion was slightly larger than a side salad - I couldn't even eat it all it was that bad. I tasted the creme brûlée cheesecake - it was fair but NOT topped with fresh berries and the cherry syrup was again, wrong! I ordered a glass of the Chateu Ste Michelle Chardonnay - I swear it tasted like Yellow Tail - blech. We will not be back."

  • "The hostess seemed clueless about our reservation and what was going on that night. Then our waiter greeted us saying, "Hi, I don't know much about the menu tonight, so bare with me while we go through it." I am thinking, wow, great start to the dinning experience. The food was good, although portions were light, and the waiter failed to refill our drinks until we were almost ready to pay the bill. A larger party seated next to us waited almost 35 minutes to get a drink order. Utterly absurd given there was hardly anyone there and it was early in the evening. I had high hopes for this new gastropub, but will disappointedly not be returning and will tell others the same."

  • "We have been to 16 Mile several times since they opened and all the issues we initially chalked up to being a "new place" have continued. The first problem is getting a table. Seems that no matter how many open tables there are they make you wait at least 45 minutes to be seated. I know the tables are open because I started using open table to make a reservation five minutes before we planned to arrive... Works every time. Selecting a beer from their large beer list has become a joke as they are usually out of stock. Finally this last time I asked for a taste of two of their draft beers before ordering. When the bill came I had been charged $7 for the tastes. They did remove tie charge when I complained but I shouldn't have had to."

  • "I ordered duck's breast. It was so tough I could hardly chew it. Also, half of it was pure fat. Such a piece of meat should not be served in any restaurant and I could not believe it was served in one of the most expensive restaurants in the area. I would normally return the meal but I was dining with a guest so I did not want to go through such distractions. Another issue was that half of the beers on tap were not available."

  • "We've been itching to try the 16 Mile Taphouse since they re-branded from the Stone Balloon Winehouse this past year. Great atmosphere. More casual, Flat Screen TV's everywhere showing sports, great ambiance. Huge beer list but limited draft selection, only 5-6 on tap, all 16 Mile beers. Huge bottle beer and wine selection. Limited menu but still great options. We had the Meat and Cheese board to start, a Stone Balloon Winehouse staple, pricey for meat and cheese but delicious. Then had the Filet tips cheeseteak and Bison Burger, both top notch, delicious. Finished it off with Hot Lava Chocolate Cake, awesome. 4 beers, appetizer, two entrees and dessert for around $75. Not too shabby! Will go back again. RIP Stone Balloon :("

  • "My meal was suppose to come with green beans. Imagine my dismay as a long despiser of brussel sprouts when my meal came to the table with them. I must have had a look of horror on my face because my daughters boyfriend asked if I was ok. I said yes, but I hate brussel sprouts. The waiter came over and was very apologetic. They had run out of green beans, but said he could trade them for anything else. So I looked him and said "you know what? I have always told my kids that they should at least try something they thought they didn't like every so often. Our taste buds change ." So I took a bite. WOW, they were amazing!! they had been roasted with some EVOO and some seasoning. I can't wait to try them home now too."

  • "Food was very good. Bartender very good. But if they want to position as an upscale TapHouse they still need some work. 12 of the 20 taps were empty. This is not a hard problem to solve! The most interesting 16 mile beer on the seasonal list - a collaboration - was out. That happens all the time, however, when asked if it was being re-tapped the bartended said it will probably be another week or so ..... take it off the menu! They have ALOT of bottles, however, not alot of remarkables and they don't have a decent selection of higher ABV beers that you typically would find at a good TapHouse. The place has the potential to be a great TapHouse much more upscale than Two Stones, Deer Park, etc ..... but they need to pay more attention to this."

  • "We ate at the restaurant on a Sat. evening which was very busy. The service was sluggish and the noise level was very high. The food was good but our soup course was not served until we reminded them about it. The coffee served was old and cold. The menu is all over the board and hard to select from."
