It's cozy and inviting; I could see myself stopping by to sit at the bar for a drink after work--the Moscow Mule was perfect, as were the Pomegranate Mojitos--having dinner with friends, or meeting a date here. The food...well, I might have dreams about the Dijon cream sauce on the perfectly cooked pork tenderloin (my friend's dinner) and I know I'll *have* to go back for the Day Boat Scallops. Also, Try the local cheese plate. Just do it. I live and work on the South Shore but I would absolutely go out of my way to return here. We were pleased to see other friends from Beverly when we came in, and later another couple from our church. That, together with the open feeling, attractive décor, and friendliness of the staff, gave 15 Walnut a very pleasant neighborhood "gathering spot" feel. The menu had many items of interest; all of our choices were nicely prepared and attractively presented.
Our server, Debbie, was a delight: knowledgeable, sociable and engaged, without being intrusive.
The bar also looks like a comfortable dining spot; thankfully, the TVs don't dominate either area.

We know enough wait staffers now to have friendly discussions, and the food is consistently very good. I tried the brisket on this visit, just as a departure from my usual favorites -- short ribs or margherita pizza. The brisket was good, but I'm afraid that since it was the best meal my mother ever prepared, this version came up a little short of that. It was still good, but I'll never order apple crisp anywhere for the same reason. Nothing will ever compare to mom's brisket and apple crisp. My sweetheart had the scallops with shrimp risotto, which was excellent. I always recomment 15 Walnut highly. The food was delicious... it was nice to find a restaurant that gave a decent portion of mussels, the seared scallops were very good, as was the pasta with bolonese. It's all good, but it doesn't really bring anything new. However, it's great to see a place like this in Hamilton. Both the lunch and dinner scene are really good.
Service is decent enough, friendly bar staff. They could work on a thing or two (e.g. just bring chopsticks and SS when someone orders sushi, don't wait to be asked), but overall nothing to complain about.

The 15 Walnut sushi roll is something to write home about. Absolutely wonderful--and we've done sushi from California and Hawaii to New England. My husband loved the pizza (bar-b-que chicken with avocado). The farm board is also a terrific idea--love the three small plates in one. Personally, I do find the house dressing a bit on the vinegary end of things. The desserts also sound delicious.
