15 East RestaurantUnforgettableThe Sashimi and the sushi were superb, especially the mackerel, salmon, scallop, oyster and the sea eel on top of everything else. My best Japanese dining ever.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant sushi in serene settingI only came to 15 East because I wanted quality sashimi in downtown New York and what I got was above and beyond. The service was impeccable, the sommeillier was very knowledgable and the staff unpretentious. They were very accomodating despite my being with a baby, and I am now very curious to try their other restaurant down the block. The sushi was very high quality and I would definitely recommend this place as a nice peaceful respite from the chaos of the city.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Sushi in the CityLovely dining room that is romantic at night, bright in the day. Excellent service. I can't speak to any of the hot dishes, but judging by the caliber of the unusual and excellent desserts I will have to guess they are as outstanding as the sushi, which is the true star here. A delight every time we return.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptious SashimiThe Sashimi was delicate and miraculous
The portions were a bit small so be prepared to double the order if you are a fish lover5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMthe best !!!we had the chef menu & sake tasting. it was just great !5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Sushi in the city.Yeah I said it. For my money, 15 East is the best sushi/sashimi in the city. Nobu? Blue Ribbon? Morimoto? Uh huh. THIS is my pick. And they have hot dishes for those who are not into fish - the Korubata Pork Belly is amazing. Their desserts are fantastic. And the Nippon-centric alcohol offerings are stupendous. Things have picked up since I first discovered 15 East three years ago, so I don't feel bad about outting them as the best in the city - what was once a Zen-calm room is now fairly energetic with diners, what used to be an impeccable reservation system seems now rife with lateness in turning tables. But it's worth the wait. No table? sit at the bar and chat with the sushi masters hard at their craft. You're welcome.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the bests in ny for SavutsMy first impression from the outside was what a mystical place is this behind the curtains! Inside, a transparent bar welcomes you to a very refine decoration and dramatic lightining. Confortable seats, excellent service, delicious sashimi and sushi choices made our night an unforgetable one!
We have already recomended 15 East to our close friends. Thanks and conguratulations.
Savuts5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMQuality, not quantityWhile portions are smaller than one might expect elsewhere, the food is first rate. While the kitchen preparations are interesting and inventive (although the abalone risotto was somewhat nondescript), the sushi remains the high point of this restaurant.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSure it's pricey, but so isSure it's pricey, but so is a Ferrari. If you put having a superb meal and an unparalleled dining experience at the top of your list, then it's well worth every penny. Simply an amazing experience from the moment I walked in.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful sashimisI have had a great experience in this restaurant; it can not be compared to other japanese restaurant. The sashimis are simply the best I have experienced ! thanks5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant was very accommodatiThe restaurant was very accommodating. Every request was met quickly and without a questions whether it was for more wasabi or the miso soup which didn't apear on the menu. There was a bit of a wait between plates from the kitchen and sushi bar. The chef did come out to speak to people he knew at the table next to us, and then came to our table to make sure everything was satisfactory. Only complaint is that there wasn't an even flow of courses...everything from the kitchen came then a long wait then all of the sushi. Nitpicking just to try and find a complaint though. Phenomenal meal over all4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sushi is great here, butThe sushi is great here, but unless you sit at the bar it could seem like an overpriced sushi restaurant.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Sushi and Japanese FareWe are sushi fanatics and 15 East exceeded our expectations in several ways: 1) Great service!; 2) Fantastic sushi and sashimi; 3) a warm and friendly environment. We started with a "degustation of sea lettuces" as something unique and different. We were served 7 or 8 different varieties of sea lettuce, each unique and different, and all complex and flavorful. The 2nd course was the grilled gindara (koji sake marinated black cod in uni sauce) which was amazing! Course 3 was the sushi omakase (chef's selection of 10 pieces of sushi) and blew our minds! We thought we had good sushi before, but this set a new standard! We finished with seared sea scallops with squid ink risotto, spinach & shiitake, sea urchin butter. What a finish!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMbest sushi in manhattan, unfortunatbest sushi in manhattan, unfortunately they charge dearly for that4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific restaurant, understandablyTerrific restaurant, understandably earns it's Michelin rating. Impeccable service with thoughtful and balanced comments and recommedations on everything from Sake to entree choices. Server was asked about choosing between two different entrees and instead offered to create half-portions of both. Beyond expectation. Presentations were terrific, sushi spectacular and entrees were very good. A bit pricey for portion size (NYC) but quality and originality were spot on.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMJMGOne of the best Sushi restuarants in New York City. Food was incredible.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccable service and foodImpeccable service and food as always. The black cod appetizer is out of this world, as are any of the sushi choices.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMJapanese delightA highly recommend. Most enjoyable evening. Great. Great food.1/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
