first time there...unfortunately it rained and we couldn't eat outside. rather crowded inside, but that was to be expected. had a great burger, though had to reorder the sauteed mushrooms. my lunch partner "tried" but was very disappointed in the port shnitzel. he might not come back. i will certainly try it again on a better day this spring and will stick with a salad or sandwich. good potential alternative to less expensive or much more expensive fare in the neighborhood. meeting someone there for drinks later this week...hopefully that will work out

  • When I arrived at the podium
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 5/1/2008
When I arrived at the podium with my party, the hostess was on the phone (not a personal cell phone, but a land line). She didn't even gesture to me that she would be right with me. A server soon recognized that we were waiting and determined which table we should sit at, seating us right then. Good place quick for lunch if you need to have a work meeting while eating. Service is sort of surly. The salad (Cobb) that I had had very little taste and was not creatively assembled at all.

It is quite noisy in the inside dining room. The staff was great -- helping us move from a table near the door (which was breezy) to a better one. Nice place.

Service was a bit slow for a Friday afternoon. It is nice to take advantage of 14K's outdoor seating. Good place for a nice lunch outside of the office.

14K is a great place for lunch. Unfortunately, on this trip, my $12 burger was overcooked. It was so busy that I didn't send it back. Otherwise, I'll definitely return.

I was not impressed with the restaurant and service. The food was good but not something I couldn't get anywhere else. It was completely empty, noone was at the door to seat greet us when we came in. We sat at the bar because the dining room looked closed down. The two bartenders were friendly but it seemed that it was their first time doing it. They didn't know answers to any questions about the menu.

  • The only problem I have is
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 3/23/2008
The only problem I have is that I made the reservation and showed up. The policy was to put the reservation on a credit card, and $50 would be deducted if I did not show up and use the reservation. I paid cash for the meal ($171.00), and the $50 charge was still placed on my credit card. Also, my 11 year old niece was charged as an adult $40, even though the advertisement said $18.95 (?) for her. How do I get my $50 refunded? This really discouraged me from doing this again. The party that was with me was interested in becoming "regulars" at the establishment. Sincerely, Rhonda Holmes

The food was good and the service was great, however the placement of the food items for Sunday brunch left us doing a lot of wandering looking for specific items. It was Easter so don't know if its always like this but we were next to a very large party with several misbehaved kids. Nobody (as in their parents or anyone from the restaurant) asked the kids to behave a little better (stop yelling, stop running around). It made for a bit of a disruptful Sunday brunch. Otherwise, is was good and again, the service for our table was wonderful.

  • The buffet at this restaurant
    Gigs
    Dined on 1/16/2008
The buffet at this restaurant is great for regular lunch, but do NOT go during Restaurant Week. In the restaurant, the wait staff are very attentive but for RW, the place was overbooked so we were seated in the bar and had four different waitstaff walk by without noticing us until we had to ask the hostess if we had a waiter. The RW food was also not as good as I had come to expect. So I would recommend just heading here for the buffet, where you can get risotto made to order, along with several other delicious dishes... and tiramisu cake! yum!

  • The kind of hotel restaurant
    kbocklVIP
    Dined on 4/20/2007
The kind of hotel restaurant that gvies hotel restaurants their mediocre reputation. Folks come for the lunch buffet, apparently, because if you're ordering off the menu good luck finding a waiter once your place is unceremonially dumped in front of you. It. Ain't. Happening. I base this on more than one visit, because frequently in my business someone else is selecting the restaurant and picking up the tab, and it's rude to tell them how much you hate their dining choice. If only I could tell them with a straight face that I'm allergic to buffets....
