Diner Reviews
  • "Food was excellent the wine list is adequate, the wait staff was average."

  • "Crab Louis had more shrimp than crab and the lettuce leaves were way too large for proper eating etiquette... although the dressing was delicious. The atmosphere of eating on the outdoor patio in front of the fireplace was nice even though it had started to rain. Our waitress put up the umbrella as we wanted to stay on the patio. The view of camp trailers below was interfering with the scenic view of the Bay. Dessert was savory. The drinks were good. Service was friendly and attentive. Would like to see them be open for lunch time dining."

  • "I had the wild caught halibut. It was the third time I've had it at 13 Moons, and every time it was just outstanding!!!!!!! Perfectly cooked, moist and tender and so absolutely delicious!!!! i can not recommend it highly enough!!!!!! My husband had the Dungeness Crab and Shrimp Louie. He said it was really excellent - lots of crab and shrimp and avocado. They also had wild salmon on the menu. I have had it there in the past, and it is also wonderful - perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The menu changes with the seasons, and with what seafood is available at that time. So the fish and shellfish is always very very fresh."

  • "We found the meal excellent and well presented. The service was very good. 13 moons has a nice view of the water and islands."

  • "It took an hour to be served after we ordered. I had a pork chop that was cooked to perfection but the sides were stone cold."

  • "My husband and I travel to Swinomish Resort from Surrey, B.C. and always include a visit to 13 Moons. It is a really nice, relaxing venue and the food is fantastic. Our waitress (don't remember her name) was amazing!"

  • "Ate outside, great temperature control beautiful view. Food was excellent and the waitress Nicki was even better! My only issue is that there are only seafood appetizers and few non seafood choices on the menu. Otherwise a great experience."

  • "The food was very good. The Staff was very disorganized. Allow an entire evening for a meal."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "We have been there three times. The first and second time was very good. A little noisy, but good food. This time, the room was so full of cigarette smoke, that it was very poor. We heard several other people complain about the smoke. IF we ever go back, we would insist on eating out side."

  • "Nice view. Outdoor seating in the summer would be nice. Food was good but a bit pricey. Cigarette smoke from casino downstairs is bad. Wait staff seemed new but okay. Save on Flights, Hotels, and More. Quickly Plan & Book on Your Phone."

  • "The food was good but we found the menu selection somewhat limited. We appreciated not being hurried through. A great place to sit by the window and enjoy a beautiful evening."

  • "Our reservation was not in their system, so there was some confusion, luckily I had printed out my reservation when I made it. They did find a spot for us, but I wasn't very happy about making my reservation early and then they didn't show a reservation for us. However, the food was wonderful and so was out wait staff."

  • "Food was great, service was outstanding, watching the boats go up and down the channel is fun, but because the restaurant is next to the casino, it was a little smokey. We sat outside on the deck and people were smoking at tables next to us while we were eating. A little unappetizing. If you can handle a little smoke, this is the perfect spot."

  • "First the service was very well executed. Staff were professional, kind and informed. Food was well presented. The sauces were especially unique and savory. The bread was well portioned and delicious. Desert was a perfect end to a lovely meal, beautiful surroundings and enjoyable staff. Although the portions were modest, we did not leave the table feeling we needed more. We were content and look forward to returning. "

  • "We have eaten several times at 13 Moons and have never been disappointed. The halibut and salmon was delicious and a huge bonus for us is their knowledge of gluten free. 2 members of our family have celiac disease and always are able to have a great meal."

  • "Food, divine. View, wonderful. Service, wonderfully friendly but a bit slow. Our dessert was given as a gift because it was our anniversary! Wonderful!!"

  • "We had a very upsetting experience our last visit that is really more against the casino then the resturaunt. My husband is an elite member and is given certain perks because of that, one being a generous discount for dinner. We were told, starting in April, that we would have that perk for 4 months. Without warning, no letter or anything they took that perk away. We went to dinner and found out after we got our bill that that perk had been discountinued, leaving us with $140 check. I understand things change but to give no warning in just not right and dishonest! Despite how good the food is we would not have spent that much on dinner unless it had been an anniversary. We will not be returning to the resturaunt or the casino!"

  • "when we got there the restaurant was packed but we managed to get a good table. Service was excellent and prompt. We both had a salad which was very good and the plating beautiful. Both of us had fish , one halibut, one ling cod, and I must say both dinners were exceptional, fish cooked perfectly, flaky, presentation outstanding. Dessert was unbelievably good, we shall definitely come back again. Our server was courteous and friendly. "

  • "The waiter was hopeless. When asked what "ling cod" was, he first stammered some generalities and then confessed he had no idea. Several wines were listed solely by their winery and country. When asked for types -which were sweet or dry e.g -. he admitted complete ignorance , and made no attempt to seek further info. When removing first course, he took away all silver and delivered entrees and disappeared. When we enjoyed the coffee we asked if he knew the brand. He didn't; period. It was entertaining, but a bit annoying. Menu items are high-priced for this somewhat rustic area (e.g. $ 10 for a single, very ordinary baked potato), but then it's a Casino venue. Dishes were attractive and general ambience was pleasant. "

  • "For any "Special Occasion" dining, you'll never go wrong @ 13 Moons. Dan, the phenomenal Chef, the "Best in the Northwest" creates exquisite dishes where every bite is a treat! Their entire staff is professional, engaging, and constantly strive to be there whatever the need/request from their customers. Thoroughly enjoyable every time we've had the pleasure to dine @ 13 Moons"

  • "Our experience on Mothers Day was exceptional. Lauren, our server, was the best of the best! We have traveled all around the country for years and there isn't a better server than Lauren. She was efficient, polite with a smile always, updated us as to when our food would be served and was really on her game! I hope you give her a raise. The food was delicious! Perfect! "

  • "The 13 Moons choice was a last minute choice when we, 3 of us stopped at the casino for the first time wanting to have a special dinner for my wife as it was Mother's Day. We did not know there was a bar upstairs. We bought drinks at a bar downstairs and waited in the lobby for 2 hours until about 5:15 p.m. to go upstairs to eat. We found the prices to be expensive but the food was excellent. Starting with the bread and vinegar, we thoroughly enjoyed the food that we each ordered. We would gladly recommend the 13 Moons to others as well as come back for ourselves whenever we are in the area. "

  • "We met our friends for dinner and we all felt the food and service was outstanding. My friends have gone to several fine dining restaurants in the Seattle area such as the Mediterranian, Ruth's Steak House, Daniel's etc.....and they felt 13 Moons is as great or better than any of these restaurants. "

  • "Like going for a nice evening out but do not try this one for a holiday.....made the mistake on Valentine's Day. Had a quiet table but it was also quiet when it came to getting service. Much better on a regular night."

  • "Very nice room with an incredible view. The service missed a lot of key points. By the time dessert arrived we had plates from all the other courses still on the table. In most cases the food was over seasoned or completely underseasoned. The menu reads great but the overall delivery was missing the details. Staff was friendly just seemed like they were missing the training. It felt overall that they were stuck between fine dining and casual and not really sure which one they were. "

  • "The items we ordered were delicious, but not enough. Each of us ordered the crab cocktail and special salads. The flank steak salad was outstanding and my Ceasar salad was so small that it only took three bites. The steak and halibut entrees were horribly expensive and even though we can afford it, it is outrageous. In the future we plan to try the other restaurant if it isn't smokey. Can't handle the smoke. My husband would have loved to gamble, but the smoke got to us. Sorry."

  • "It was a very nice restaurant with a lovely view but I did make a reservation and asked for them to make the table romantic for my anniversary, however, they didn't seem to acknowledge it. We still did have a wonderful meal with great service."

  • "It can get a bit noisy as the area fills up, but all around it is a pleasant place to eat. The food is well prepare and presented. We like the one page menu; very focused. The seasonal, local and, fresh choices are excellent. Service has always been professional."

  • " The salads here have always been, well, weird. And the food has been a little slow to arrive. But it is always worth the wait. I just had the best pork chop I've ever put in my mouth. Nikki is a great waitress."
    Dined on 4/24/2014
  • "Prices have risen to the point that does not match the quality of the food. Wine prices at over 200% mark up was unacceptable. Food arrived cold and slow."

  • "All fresh seafood caught by the Indian fisherman and well presented. Also excellent meats. Wonderful view. "

  • "After hearing the radio commercials for 13 Moons for several months we decided to plan a stay at the lodge, dinner at 13 Moons and visit the tulip fields the next day. We had a lovely dinner at 13 Moons. We started with the Penn Cove mussels. I ordered the halibut special with an avacodo and crab meat salsa. The halibut was perfectly cooked and the salsa added another dimension of flavor. My husband ordered the filet mignon and a baked potatoe on the side. The filet was cooked as ordered- medium rare. Be sure to try the steak with the demiglaze. Our waitperson was fun and attentive. Overall we had a great experience and plan to return in the future."

  • "The food tasted great, but service was terribly slow even with relatively few tables filled."

  • "we bookef the hotel as part of the Tulip/Wine Festival. I booked this restaurant as it was a sponsor for the wine Homemade cranberry jelly is a delicious family favorite. Our recipe is made to perfection with as many fresh cranberries as we can cram into one special jelly. Make Mrs. Miller's cranberry jelly a tradition at your breakfast table, at Thanksgiving dinner, and of course, on top of every irresistibly sweet dessert.fest. I was NOT disappointed. Everything was Fantastic from the excellent service to the amazing food. I've already told everyone that this is the place to visit from Vancouver, Canada!!!"

  • "settings which looked a lot like a hospital cafeteria. Lack of intimacy, did not contribute to a fine dining experience. While aspiring to achieve great things, 13 moons falls short. Try the steakhouse at Silver Reef Casino further north up the coast for an improved fine dining experience. Servings were on the small size and it was slow, after the salad it was close to half and hour before we saw our main courses. The 18oz rib eye steak arrived at a cooler temperature than I normally expect a fresh cooked steak to be. Don't imagine we'll be back any time soon."

  • "The crab cake appetizer was excellent. Line-caught halibut was a bit rubbery, but probably because it was a late evening dinner . The other entree at the table was ciapinno which was loaded with seafood but could have used a more distinctive touch to the broth. Service was poor overall."
