Dishes we tried included the smoked duck, smoked ahi bruschetta, kampachi carpaccio, mac and cheese, rib eye, kim chee skirt steak, and the pork chop. Everything was delicious and tasty, although the pork chop was lean and a little dry. The condensed milk gelato tasted exactly like that, and was even better paired with the flourless chocolate cake. The service was great. We will definitely return.

We were group of four ladies from Japan. We chose 12th Ave. Grill for our special dinner of our stay in Honolulu. We had fried advocados, beet salad, cheese macaroni, pork chops, and Maui beef. Every thing was perfectly gorgeous and good. I want try some sea foods next time and some deserts also.

I went to any early dinner w/ my husband and son so we were one of the first customers in the restaurant. it was quiet when we arrived but was a lot louder when we left at 7pm. if you're like me and don't like noise and crowds - go early. the food was the usual amazing. we ordered the pre-fixe menu for Restaurant Week. the smoked ahi bruschetta, grilled pork chops (yum!) and chocolate souffle(?) cake and ice cream were all delicious. this is my fourth time at 12th Avenue Grill (two at the old location) and the food and service has always been great. the new location has a lighter feel to it vs the darker, cluttered feel I got at the former location.

We celebrated my birthday at 12th Avenue Grill and it truly made the day special! Highlights of the meal were the appetizers and dessert! We had the Coriander-Lime Seared Big Island Kampachi Crudo, an awesome blend of seared kampachi with the heat of peppers and garlic chips. The Smoked Ahi Bruschetta, a family favorite, was, as usual, amazing. Dessert was the flourless chocolate cake, with its warm chocolate center, the perfect way to end the evening!

Been here several times, and the service is great, food consistent, drinks a bit on the expensive side even for happy hour. If you're gonna charge $10+ for a drink, please use more alcohol in them. There was more fat in the ribeye steak than last times, and the coffee after dinner was BAD, Zippy's is better. The menu could use periodic new items---starters and entrees. Guess I've been here too much--five times in the last year. The menu's gotten old for me.

Continues to innovate. The food is basic - pork loins, fish, chicken and steaks but all done very well with interesting preparations that make it interesting. Wine and cocktails are very good and the service is friendly and attentive. Waiters know the menu and the wine list. It's one of those places where you could make a meal of the small plates or decide on a three-course and either one would satisfy. And a good place to go if you love dessert.

The menu choices are fresh and interesting, many with local ingredients. There were six of us at dinner, and everyone enjoyed getting a taste of each other's choices. One of our party is a wine afficianado and he found very nice options for our meal. The table selected for us was a little too small. The space is attractive although a little generic and is quite noisy, which made some conversation a little challenging. In 12th Avenue Grill's previous location, the ambiance was warmer and the menu more adventurous. I wish some of that earlier quality could continue in this new larger location.

I would recommend 12th Ave. Grill but only to those who don't mind a high noise level. The food and service are very good, the "standard" gin martinis were excellent, our guests said the house wine was also very good. The noise level made any conversation within our party impossible and raising our voices to be heard by each other was pointless. If a high noise level doesn't bother you, by all means, please do dine at 12th Ave. Grill.

Everything we ate was simply delicious. Loved the lemon, basil, ginger cocktail. Nice selection of wines and craft beers. I'm not a big fan of brussel sprouts but took a chance knowing they are so popular these days. It did not dissapoint. Of course with bacon and cheese how can you go wrong. Love the Ahi Bruschetta, local greens salad. My husband had the special of the lilikoi ribs with corn bread. It was fall off the bone awesomeness. I had the rib eye and loved the papradelle side. I can't wait to go back!

Always great food, services is fantastic - only downfall is the seating - uncomfortably strieght back booth style seating, "2 tops" are extremely tight/small, we both repeatedly bumped our elbows on the half wall next to us, & neither of us are large people. The seats for 2 are so narrow, taller & larger people will be uncomfortable.

I have NO complaints about the food - it's always an amazing menu with new selections daily and all the great "standards" that I tend to fall back on. Like the chicken or the pork chop. Yum. My only complaint is the noise level. I don't mind an "energetic" atmosphere, but when 12th Avenue Grill is packed (which is normal) it's VERY hard to communicate. Hence - it's not a good place to go for a romantic date or with a business associate when you need to discuss something. (The problem could be easily remedied with a few acoustic touches throughout...)

We had some out-of-town foodies to entertain, so we made reservations for a Friday night. We were seated right away. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We ordered the smoked ahi bruschetta & fried avocado appetizers. The former hit the spot, the avocado could have used another tablespoon of sauce. When we wavered about ordering a bowl of mac & cheese for the table, the waitress talked us into it - and we were glad she did. Crispy on top, very creamy and rich. Our guests, who ordered the Jidori chicken and the flat iron steak, cleaned their plates -- without offering me a bite! The only two downers were an overcooked pork chop and the bottle of wine not arriving until we were 1/2 way done with our entrees. Try to leave room for dessert.

We heard so much of this restaurant and have been waiting to get in on a Saturday night. The ambiance was nice but the place was super loud. The food was not as good as it looked on the menu. 12th is one of those owner/chef establishments that make finding a new restaurant a pleasure. The menu is locally sourced meats and veggies combined into both comfort foods and pleasant experiments. They've forgone the million-dollar-decor of a tourist destination restaurant, and that's fine by me, because this is a neighborhood joint above the madding crowd of Waikiki. This is a crew that works hard to assemble great drinks, wines, and food without all the drama. By the way, the Sunday supper is a great dinner deal for two.

My friend and I, she is an ex-Honolulan, but comes frequently to visit family, have made eating at 12th Ave a semi- tradition when she visits. At the old restaurant, we had to plan ahead to get in, and were sometimes crowded into a corner booth with family and friends. She bemoaned the new, bigger digs, but I pointed out we might not have been able to get a table last minute at the old place! She missed the old coziness. But ...the Monchong was great, the greens I felt were salty, added to a salty side pasta... But the rest did not disappoint, as in PERFECT buttermilk fried chicken, perfect sides of haricot verde, mashed potatoes with white gravy...and a biscuit! Dessert? Panna cotta and chocolate Mac nut bread pudding. The BEST!
