The food and service are outstanding whatever your choice. The locals clearly choose fine dining some evenings and a hamburger and fries at other times. We were not locals, yet the locals engaged us in conversation and contributed to the dining experience. 121 Restaurant and Bar can be all things to all people or all things to the same person at different times. I was going to order one pasta dish and the waiter recommended another instead. Good to hear opinions of the wait staff! Had a relaxed 2 hour dinner and the service was attentive without being overbearing. We both enjoyed everything we ordered. Wife had delicious baby arugula salad, followed by a rather large salmon club w/ avocado and smoked bacon, hold the bacon, which she could not finish. The salmon was perfect; I wish she had kept the bacon! I got the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week special pork chop main dish, also cooked just right, with a creamy polenta & brussel sprouts. I was very happy. We shared the chocolate de pot (sp?) - a mousse made with jalapeno - and topped with a creamy cheese-type topping - VERY interesting and good.
