First time dining at 121, taking mom for birthday celebration on Friday night. No problem upon arrival, we were seated right away. Dining room was pretty much full with the noise level being very high. Tables are tight and you are very close to other diners. We actually had a conversation with the table next to us as they overheard our discussion and joined in. There were only 2 waiters for the entire dining room and in a restaurant with their pricing structure, you would definitely expect more servers. It took between 7-10 minutes before our waiter came to the table. He didn't even ask about drink order just whether we wanted tap or bottled water. We gave him our order at that point. A while pasted and our drinks finally arrived. We could see the scenario playing out so we ordered our food. Very long story short....apps came in around 15-20 mins. Calamari was tough and at $10 we would have expected more than 11 pieces. Mussels were good but really overpriced at $17 for an app. 30 mins later...no entree and a waiter who was clearly avoiding us, I approached the manager along with another diner who's table was waiting too long for their meal. Again, brevity , we waited 2 hours from when we were seated to get our entrees. The dinner arrived and it was mediocre at best and would have expect more at the $30 entree price point. I spoke twice to the manager, who at the time, was clearly flustered and came across as rude but Full disclosure.....he did finally come to the table, apologize and comped the meal. As a chef in this business for over 30 years, I know that stuff happens, it's the way it was handled( or not) that was the issue. Diners should never be ignored This place will do fine in that they are located in an upscale area where many diners expect to pay high prices for a trendy type place with so, so food but we will not go back as there are plenty of other good restaurants in the area to dine.

We went for HVRW lunch. Though the appetizers and desserts were very good, some of us were disappointed in our entree. Those of us who ordered the lamb dish found the lamb to be very dry. We were glad to finish with the key lime pie which was the best we've ever had!

We started off by having to wait 20 minutes to be seated even though we had a long standing reservation. No apology was offered and the advise was go to the bar and have a drink (not on the house). The appetizers were excellent but our recommended main course (salmon) was bland and the portion was small enough to make us feel as if we were eating at a french restaurant. The desert was tasty (apple cobbler) and the bottle of Chardonnay we ordered was reasonably priced for the quality.

4 of us went for dinner and ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, which was just a smaller version of the regular menu. We couldn't resist adding the Truffle Fries and they did not disappoint. The entire meal was wonderful and our server - wish I could remember his name - was a gem. Specialty drinks were also amazing! Looking forward to another visit.

There was a specific menu for restaurant week. Portions were on the small side for dinner. Shortly after seating the waiter brought delicious pretzel croissants with honey butter. A shrimp appetizer was tasty, the bitter green salad was fair, too smothered in dressing for our taste. Short rib dinner-Meat was cut off the bone a nice touch. It was tender, diced into tiny cubes served over noodles. It was on the bland, skimpy side. Filet, from regular menu,so rare it could have mooed. The kitchen recooked it to a better state. Dessert cobbler, mediocre. Coffees on the cold side. Sugars with the coffee-uncovered cubes in an open dish with debris on them-waiter apologized-returned with another. Cute mismatched decor. Gets noisy. Pricey overall.

I have been going to 121 since they first opened...not sure..at least for 15 years. 121 was on of our go to eateries, then things seemed to have declined. But now , They're Back and getting it all kinds of right. The restaurant has always been good, they have gone through some ups and downs in the last 2 years, but now it seems as if they are getting it right in all areas. The décor is fresh, fun & cozy. The food was delicious & current, the service was friendly and prompt. We will be back!

121 is once again a top pick for me. They took their customers' input and fixed their wine list. The food is great -- the fig pizza and shrimp and grits are not to be missed! When out of town guests come, they ask for this restaurant every time, and it always delivers.

Everything was outstanding. Very nice Tuna Tartar with wasabi sauce, among the best I've had. Shrimp with sweet chile grits was a real treat. Everyone loved their main course: beef tenderloin, Berkshire Pork, and Fried Chicken were all outstanding. Meat cooked perfectly and sauce / accompaniments were excellent. Combination of flourless chocolate cake and banana / Nutella ice cream worked really well.

I took a group of 4 to 121, which, until now, has been one of my favorite restaurants. They had redone their wine list. We decided we all wanted red wine, so I ordered a Cabernet, for what I thought was $30 a bottle. Apparently all of the prices are by the glass, but I didn't realize it. It NEVER occurred to me that a little restaurant in the middle of nowhere would charge $30 a glass. Also, they didn't have an unopened bottle of the one I'd ordered, so they recommended another one. When I got the bill I was horrified to discover I'd ordered a $120 bottle of wine! When I called the restaurant the mgr said he'd have the general mgr call me to try to work something out. He never did. I won't be going back.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

Very nice restaurant and very good food plus attentive service. But the surfaces of tables and floors are all wood and there is absolutely no effort expended for sound deadening that we could see. The result is that the room with the bar -- where they first tried to seat us -- is a loud mad house and definitely not a very relaxing place to enjoy a meal. We asked staff to be seated in the room next door which was somewhat (but not completely) more tranquil. (If they hadn't been able to seat us in the other room, we would have walked out, the bar room was that noisy. So make sure you specify that you want to be seated in the other room.) Once we got that straightened out, everything was really good. We would definitely go back!

When we arrived, we went to the host's station at the front of the restaurant but no one was there and no one came to greet us. My husband asked the bartender to please get someone to help us. She said she would but she never did even though several wait staff came up to the bar as we were standing there. Finally, my husband went to a waiter and asked him to seat us, which he did. Apparently, the restaurant has no host/hostess. The service was slow and amateurish. Our waitress could not answer a simple question about the menu. She also dropped a bottle of wine on the floor when she poured a glass at the table. When our food came out of the kitchen, the server brought it to the wrong table. The food was good enough.

I don't care any more who raised the greens that I shall eat. the portions were very small ( I am skinny, size4 and usually never finish my food) my food was lukewarm, coffee cold, desert poor.. a peach cobbler with hard uncooked peaches with some crums thrown on top. staff was very nice.

Early Saturday night dinner reservation. Promptly greeted by the hostess. Good drink at the bar waiting for our table to be ready. Our downstairs dining room had a modern design that seemed a little out of place but worked. Menu wasn't extensive but still offered a wide range of choice with a combination of apps as appealing as an entree. Roasted cauliflower as an app was good, but portion was too large. Scotch egg over a potato souffle was very good. Burger was well cooked. Fish taco was served as three finger tacos. Habanero salsa listed on the menu was not in evidence. Good french fries. Passed on dessert. Servers were young but well trained. Best compliment--this is a place we want to return to.

121 was always great; now after remodeling is even more attractive. We were seated immediately although we arrived 15 min before the time. Selection of wine is good and you can taste it before ordering. We were 6 in our party and ordered 5 appetizers. For some of us older generations this was enough for dinner. We order some dishes to be split and they (chef) were accommodating. The food was great.

We have been going to 121 since they opened in 2000. They recently underwent a major renovation, both in decor and menu. They have managed to keep the rustic feel to the restaurant and have added a great open kitchen. The food is outstanding. You can get anything from pizza (my personal favorite) to filet of beef. The tuna tartar is served with a tempura style slice of avocado on top - who would have thought? It's amazing. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful and there is always an owner on the floor making sure every guest there feels like an old friend. I still love 121. It's become my home away from home.

Been going here for many years. There always have been problems with the space (very crowded, noisy bar area, etc.), but the food has been consistently excellent. Now, renovation and new chef, with opposite results. The space is beautiful, relaxing, quieter -- fantastic! But, the food was mediocre. Very little taste, smallish portions -- just not satisfying in any respect. In the end, the changes got the priorities all wrong.
