A word from 100 Steps Supper Club + Raw Bar
In the midwest, "supper club" means a spot where you can not only have a great meal, but a spot that functions as a bit of a social club too - a place to enjoy remarkable food + great company. One of our favorite parts of the night has been watching our customers interact - running into neighbors and friends, meeting up with family, or just enjoying a night out together - it's our own little social club. So we figured what could be more apt than calling ourselves the 100 Steps Supper Club.

The "raw bar" side - well that comes from wanting a nice, traditional oyster bar to belly up to and dive into raw oysters, clams, and other great seafood.

  • "A big fan of 100 Steps and A Toute Heure. I find the food to be hit or miss but I think that is just a part of the tapas experience. I appreciate how inventive and experimental the chef is but the result is that some dishes are a bit off. I loved fried clam belly, octopus was incredibly tender but I found the squash blossoms to be a bit strange paired with a basil panna cotta. And the smoked chocolate mousse was not good at all--the milk jam sorbet seemed very bizarre. Unfortunately it just didn't taste good. Still love the place though and will be back."

The food was overall solid (leaned a little towards the spicy side, which perhaps could have been our orders - but someone who likes a "kick" to their food would love it). Oysters were fresh and tasty. Love having a local raw bar that is a BYOB - bill was very reasonable! Will be back...this makes a nice addition to the restaurant scene in Cranford and the surrounding area."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner at this quaint BYO. We had a bunch of fresh, delicious oysters. The ceviche was smoky and crisp. We had octopus that we cut with a fork! Everything was amazing- Including a strawberry upside down dessert with basil gelato. The service was well paced and attentive. The owner came by to thank us for visiting- It was our first visit but definitely won't be our last!"

  • "We ate at 100 Steps last nite. Aside from the unacceptable noise level, the menu was hard to navigate. Our cheese plates were TINY TINY portions of "eh" cheese with TINY pieces of stale bread. We ordered meatballs and some mushroom glop as small plates and they were seriously mediocre to bad. Our entrees were very average. I will say that dessert was very good. Prices are average and it is BYO. I would urge anyone who wants to have a really nice dining experience (including conversation with table companions) to boycott places like this. "

  • "As charter patrons of A Toute Heure we looked forward to our first visit to 100 Steps and we weren't disappointed. The clams and oysters were cold, fresh and delicious. The fried clam belly po'boy a tasty treat as were the baked oysters and steamers.Our waitress, Melanie, was helpful and considerate. At Happy Hour, the noise level was down, adding to the restaurant's clean, sharp. modern design. Andrea's coming over to chat and say hello was a very pleasant personal touch.   • "We tried this Centennial Village Star last Friday Night. The food was wonderful and the decor/ambiance amazing as well. The owner was kind enough to come over and introduce himself and explain the restaurant's tapas menu and approach. The service was on point and very attentive. We had the Seafood Tower to start- the oysters were amazing and the cerveche was out of this world. We moved on to the bream dish and also loved the shrimp ravioli. The two desserts were also really delicious. There are so many more dishes we want to try. We will be back. I can't wait!"

  • "100 Steps is a great addition to the ATH family. Andrea and Jim have created another winner. This was our first visit at the new location after many at ATH. The location has more space and is nicely laid out. The food was fantastic as usual, but trying to get a bead on the portion size of the different offerings on the menu took some time. Our only complaint was that the background noise was a bit high. Our waitress had to lean in and shout for us to hear her, and conversation at the table was a bit difficult. Most of the noise was generated by the background music, so it could and should be lowered just a bit!"

  • "We ordered a cheese board number two, solumi board and seafood tower. Both boards were delicious with the assorted bread basket, chicory greens and pesto. The seafood tower had oysters which were divine, clams very fresh and sweet, but the shrimp were small and a little over cooked. Comparing this tower to another seafood establishment, where the tower is about the same price, with similar shellfish, the lobster and crab were better at the other restaurant. 100 Steps deserves another try at a later date."

Outstanding! it was such a cool place to go for dinner with my husband. We had an awesome corner table. I loved that it was more of a tapas type of place rather than a restaurant type menu. The waiter was terrific in helping us decide our plates for the evening. I highly recommend this place!"

  • "It's obvious that the attention to detail in everything from wait staff to food preparation that there are very high standards in place and that the goal is to exceed expectations from the moment you enter until leaving. Four of us ordered a variety of small plates that ended with 2 pastas. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish with the exception of the olives. The staff knew how to bring them out and pace the meal so that we could enjoy the food and each other in total harmony. Can't say enough about the food, the touch of squid ink on the tuna plate was perfect. Precise and exquisite food preparation can become pretentious but not here. This team works so well together that it's hard to resist."

  • "Cranford has a new sheriff in town and he's only 100 steps away. Seafood tower is not only reminiscent of a Parisian bistro but priced superbly. Highest quality shellfish alongside delicious ceviche and crudo. Cheeseboard is also outstanding with excellent domestic offerings. Pasta dishes weren't at the level I thought the rest of the menu was achieving. This small criticism was shared with the waiter and he passed it along to the owner who immediately asked for feedback. Total graciousness and class. This is what great restaurants do. 100 steps is an outstanding choice which along with a toute heure can easily make the claim as best restaurant in Cranford and surrounding towns."

Prices a bit expensive, which we are usually willing to pay but, the cheese and cured meets were very expensive, which stopped me from ordering them...and I never do. Wait staff was pleasant, could tell they were new but had no issues. Would come back again definitely. Try to go before its impossible to get in, like their sister place across the street at ATH."
