The restaurant is beautiful and
the food was quite good. I had the steak special with roasted trumpet mushroom and a wine reduction glaze -- delicious. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful but the bar is busy and a bit noisy -- but not too much. I was alone, son conversation was not a problem, but I am certain I would have been able to talk to a friend."

They've taken what used to be a
wonderful place and ruined it. The menu has been reduced to practically nothing; what remains isn't very interesting and isn't particularly good. The space is now little more than a wing of the lobby -- they don't seem to want to use the (slightly more private) main dining space anymore. All that;'s left of the original concept is the deafeningly noisy open space of the lobby, so that you can't really converse. I used to love this restaurant; I'll never waste time or money here again. What a shame."
Dined on 3/8/2014
The elegance that used to be in
the lobby is no more due to changing of the guards obviously. There was a time when the ambience in the lobby was of a european/old world elegance and charm. Now its just plain RED with awkward neon glowing lit pillars of square angles that completely clash with the stoic iconic Greek pillars that engulf the room with a feeling of mythological grace and presence. The abundant amount of tables disorients guests as they enter. Not every hotel should be dictated by a modern look or approach. If I'm going to pay $14 for a cocktail, which I expected to spend there,I'd like my atmosphere commensurate. As for the food offerings, serving fingerling size soft pretzels is really dumbing it down.Macncheese with ham?wontreturn."

10 Arts always has great food and
service. I enjoy dining there and will return."

Being the hotel restaurant in the
Ritz Carlton it was easy to get a reservation here when all of our other Philly favorites were booked solid. The place is huge and takes residence in the historic column lined lobby of the RitzCarlton which is a very cool space, but not at all intimate. Our waiter seemed baffled by basic menu questions. My wife ordered the steak special and he came back later to say that that prep was no longer available. He was flustered to help her figure out a replacement. My main course (an orange and lemon infused Duck Ragou over pasta) was just pasta with duck meat and red sauce. It was good but not as advertized. The salad and appetizer were the best things we ate."

Welcoming was pleasant. Beautiful
structure/venue. Service was extremely poor. Beverage glasses were always empty and took a long time to clear table after each course. Staff lingered around rather than attending to guests. Food had a great taste but was not hot when arriving at table. Also, portions were much to be desired. Over priced experience and we will not return."

This was our first dinner at 10
Arts. Setting is grand - off the edge beneath the Beaux Arts dome of the former Girard Bank. Restaurant Week was the occasion, with a $35 three-course menu. Choices included PEI mussels, and splendid braised pork."
Dined on 1/30/2014
Very attentive and responsive
staff who were determined to make the dining experience perfect. Added benefit: dining in an historic building."
Dined on 1/31/2014
I thought that the food
presentation and the waiters were excellent. The waiter that I had was very knowledgeable about the dish that I ordered and the presentation was flawless. My date and I enjoyed everything very much."
Dined on 1/29/2014
An elegant setting for a fine
Pumpkin Seed soup and Seared Atlantic Salmon, both perfect unlike the rest of our selections. The Banana Cream Pie, waiter's recommendation, was but a figment of this classic's memory: overly sugary tart, no pastry cream, dark banana compote and a foamy version of a cream topping. While the waiter and servers were good, the friendly F&B director was solicitous but not enough to evoke the truth about our dissatisfaction. What really impressed us was the reservation specialist, receptionist, concierge and coat check service role that Elizabeth played in representing 10 Arts from A to Z. Quick, anticipatory, accurate and warmly engaging service defined for the three of us the finest of a five star hotel."
Dined on 1/28/2014
The service was excellent however
the food was not good at all. I can't recommend this place to anyone. I will never go back."
Dined on 1/28/2014
For such a fancy hotel to serve
such a blah meal during restaurant week is a shame. The pork was half fat. The gnocchi sat in a lake of grease. The desserts must have been made well in advance with the ice cream frozen like a brick."
Dined on 1/23/2014
10 Arts is a lovely restaurant,
however, the menu is very limited and the prices are a little high. I was recently there with my boss for lunch. We both ordered the hamburger and although it was delicious, we did not think it was worth $18. Having been there before, I knew what to expect. Because of the ambience, I would go back for no other reason but a special occasion."
Dined on 1/13/2014
This was our second visit and the
food was not quite as good. Everything seemed just a little bit worse. The house salad was terribly wilted and the Trout entree was dry and seemed to be missing a sauce that it had the previous time. Overall we had a nice time and will go back, hoping that the chef just had an off night."
Dined on 12/31/2013
The food was prepared well and
presented in attractive manner but pprtions were very small for the price even considering the venue. Service was excellent . the noise level was surprisingly low considering we were seated next to the lobby bar area."
Dined on 12/25/2013
We picked 10 Arts for Christmas
dinner because they actually had a menu, and not a buffet. The food was OK, the lobster bisque better than OK. As we had just gotten off a plane from Europe, the fact that it was quiet was a bonus. The dinner with a friend was pleasant, and that's the best I can say about it."
Dined on 12/25/2013
Going to a Ritz Carlton for a
family Christmas Day dinner one would expect outstanding food, a great service and an overall festive spirit. Service was as though we were in an IHop restaurant for a casual lunch on a random day, frequently wrong items arrived, we had to ask repeatedly for items which should have arrived automatically eg bread , ketchup for the kids, drink refills... Food in general was ok, but many items bland. Sent back one course. Petit fours were completely in edible... When I informed to waitress about this, she just shrugged and gave me the cheque. She then took almost 20 mins to pick up the credit card! Would definitely avoid this place for any special occasion...."

The food was delicious. We all had
very different meals and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices. The wine was great and the dessert was terrific. We had great service and the restaurant was lovely. The music from the bar was a bit distracting but not too overpowering."
Dined on 12/24/2013
We also appreciated the valet
parking and walked to the Forrest theater after dinner and got the car after the show"

Enjoyed the decor the lobby for
holiday, the food had much to be desired. The menu selection was much too limited. Short ribs were tasty by very dry. They were served with Brussel sprouts and sweet potato au gratin.Sprouts they were delicious, au gratin was under cooked. The music was loud for a casual gathering venue. Our server, Simone, did ask if it was too loud and offered to have it lowered, which she did. She was very accommodating! I found it unusual that bread came at a price of $2.00 per (small) basket. This is a beautiful venue and gathering space to meet for a drink and small snack but dinner isn't on my list again."
Dined on 12/18/2013
This is a great place to hang out
in the bar area of an active hotel lobby."
Dined on 12/13/2013
Quite frankly, I expected more
from a restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton. The menu is extremely limited, the food is OK, and for lunch, you are literally seated in the lobby bar! The waitress was slow and obviously overwhelmed, and although the mussels were good, the remainder of the food was OK at best...very disappointing considering the steep prices...."

We celebrited our 43rd anniversary
by having dinner here. Staff was attentive. Was surprised at the limited entrees and no "specials".However the food was very good. They have a nice wine list too. Would come back again."
Dined on 11/23/2013
We were a group of four and no one
was happy with their meal. My $34 entre of short rib was down right terrible (the meat was dry and stringy - gratin on the side was inedible - plain buttered brussel sprouts with no seasoning). Our service was also extremely slow. The only silver lining was the Cappucinno I had at the end of the night. We brought friends from out of town and I was a little embarassed. Maybe an off night?? I'm was shocked to get that kind of food at a Ritz Carlton in an Eric Ripert restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful. Hopefully they can get the food up to par. I could recommend this place for pre-dinner drinks (if you are having dinner elsewhere), because it is quite beautiful."

Very unique setting! To take a
bank and transform it to a beautiful place to chill and have a meal or a nice night cap, was cool. It was my first time dining there with my fiancé and we had a blast! Food was great, music was great, service was great, ambience and mood was definitely ideal!"

Returned to 10Arts for many of our
old favorites. The staff and management immediately recognized us and treated us very well. Chef came out and described many of his specials for the evening which we had to try. Chicken, oysters, Langoustines and brook trout were all really well done and delicious. Another winner at 10Arts."
Dined on 11/1/2013
As always, the food and service at
10Arts was superb. When we arrived at 6:00 pm, however, there was uncomfortably loud music from a live band playing. Thankfully, it came to a halt before dinner."
Dined on 10/13/2013
This place has stunning ambience
and would be great for a glass of wine or cocktails with friends. The food I found disappointing. Cleverly contrived menu doesn't live up to its billing and is disappointing when it arrives. It's expensive as well. Expect to pay $15 a cocktail or glass of wine. Not worth it."
Dined on 10/10/2013
Lunch was not the best here.
Dinner may be better but I do not and probably will not know. The chicken noodle ABC soup was the best as the broth was very flavorful and rich. Lunch: -Chicken soup (very good) -Salmon tartar (ok) -Fries (ok) -Mushrooms (good) -Tagliatelle (ok) 2 STARS"

Went during restaurant wk for
girls night dinner on a Tuesday. Food was delicious and decor is beautiful, however service was not what I would have expected for such a highly rated restaurant on a non-busy night. We waited 20 minutes for our first round of drinks, served our food and had to wait for silverware, and our coffee was served after we finished our dessert."
Dined on 9/25/2013
We ate here a few years ago while
in Philadelphia and it was really great. This time, it was a huge disappointment. Very limited menu, very high priced. Almost no good wines on a limited list. The music in the grand hall was so loud it was hard to converse and we purposefully sat in the dining area rather than the Grand Hall itself. I could go on and on but suffice it to say it was a really bad experience--esp for a Ritz Carlton!"
Dined on 9/27/2013
Went during restaurant week. $35
for 3 courses in Ritz Carlton. The lentil soup was good. The lamb shank could have been softer and less cooked. The panna cotta-was heavenly. Saffron poached apricots, didn't notice the saffron so much as the inclusion of fresh ground cardamon in the dessert. A light citrus gel covered the panna cotta. Recommend highly. The bar is good, and service is very good, considering how busy it gets. The "Philadelphian" cocktail: Rittenhouse whisky, "local maple" - maybe syrup?? black walnut bitters! and vermouth, probably Carpano Antica or another high quality vermouth. Very nice and worth $15."
Dined on 9/20/2013
Took advantage of restaurant week
specials. Met a friend from out of town. Our meal was tasty, but nothing special. Nevertheless, very pleasant atmosphere. The rotunda is stunning and unlike many CC restaurants, a great place for conversation. Enjoyed the live music too. ,"

Our server Kate was very nice and
capable. When we first arrived no one was around to seat us, it gave us the impression they were short staffed then half-way into our meal the food manager and another in-charge person came to our table to ask if everything was ok."
Dined on 9/25/2013
Coffee was 5, speciality drinks
were 15, and glasses of wine started at 12 and went over 20 dollars."
Dined on 9/24/2013
Food terrific, ambiance
outstanding. Service excellent. server was delightful. Only one glitch, something happened with our dessert order. We watched everyone else (many came in after us) receive their dish. Our server apologized for the 20 minute delay. We never found out what happened. Hmm! At least we were not in a hurry."
Dined on 9/21/2013
This is a place to go if you are
looking to impress someone, but the food left ALOT to be desired"
Dined on 9/21/2013
Two friends and I took advantage
of Restaurant Week and had a most delicious meal. We were surprised that the restaurant was so empty of guests. Is this a little known gem?"
Dined on 9/20/2013
Picked 10Arts to conduct interview
over dinner /check out the new chef Love the setting & service is always outstanding Decided on Restaurant Week 3-course/$35 menu and quite frankly i was disappointed in the menu selections, execution & value Salad: Honey Crisp Apple Salad Mustard Greens, Toasted Walnuts, Apple Cider Vinaigrette was nice but vinaigrette was very salty Entree - selected Zuchinni Risotto Parmesan, Fried Shallots (other selections lamb shank & chicken didn't inspire; and while tasty, portion was <6 ounces and that was it! Dessert : Chocolate Cream Pie Praline Ice Cream, Candied Hazelnuts was well executed, but small plate style 2 glasses of wine, 2 coffees, $135 bucks later left hungry & disappointed"
Dined on 9/19/2013
I made this dinner reservation for
the only restaurant at the Philadelphia Ritz Carlton expecting a romantic & fine dining experience. Instead, this restaurant in in the noisy bar lobby, the food quite simple (the bulk of the menu is pub food: burgers & Phile cheesesteak (at a Ritz!!),& the wine list quite dumbed down. The were a few items on themenu a bit more interesting. My wife had a $38 New York steak that was acceptable but dull. Beyond a partition is a large, elegant restaurant space that is only open at breakfast . The good online reviews for the Ritz restaurant must be for a prior restaurant in that space."
