1 North SteakhouseHappy anniversary!Husband and I had a wonderful 45th anniversary dinner! We have been here before,usually for special occasions as it is pricey. The restaurant was busy. My husband had the lobster Mac and cheese appetizer which was delicious but enough for a whole family my salad with warm grilled veges and mozzarella cheese was great. I opted for the veal chop(16 ounces) and he had a shrimp dish. We had lots of leftovers. Too full for desert but have had great ones in the past. The steak came to the table sizzling! I had the shrimp and truffle risotto dish. It was outstanding! The type of entree I will daydream about. Our appetizers were delicious as well. Bacon wrapped scallops and the trio of sliders. I also had a mojito, it was delicious. Our waitress was very very sweet and very very attentive. There was never a time that we had to ask for anything. It was as if the wait staff were able to read our minds. From the moment we entered the door until the moment we left it was a truly enjoyable and delicious experience! When we were there Saturday night we were told they were "no longer" accepting the icitycerts gift cards. And, the waitress told us that there was a big sign on the door that we should have noticed coming in. When asked why, the waitress said the cards had been sold without their permission. The entree as the 12 oz dry-rubbed strip steak with garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Dessert was cannoli cream crepes. All choices were excellent and I would return to this restaurant.
Items for restaurant week were taken from the regular menu so as to give a sampling of what the restaurant can do. They serve generous cocktails and drinks followed by perfectly cooked steaks, chops and seafood. We've had their soups and loved them all, followed by steak cooked exactly as ordered. 1 North is as good a restaurant as we've found in Manhattan or anywhere on the East End. As soon as we walked in the door we were happily greeted, even though we showed up an hour before the shift started. We were allowed to sit at the bar where the bartender was very nice and accommodating. We were allowed to sit about 10 minutes before the shift started. The restaurant was quiet as we were the only ones there. I ordered the filet mignon and my boyfriend got the wedge salad and filet sliders. Everything was cooked perfectly. The food came in a timely manner. Our waitress was very attentive and accommodating.
