1 NocelloWonderful foodMy wife and I went to Nocello on a Sunday evening as part of our 30th anniversary getaway weekend to Manhattan. We both tried specials. She had the lentil soup, then lobster tails over fettucine. I - the octopus salad, them risotto with crab. All the food was fabulous. The waiter was very good and attentive until time for the check (too slow). Wine list adequate, not extensive, and not expensive. Ambiance was very nice but not romantic. The ambience is charming, the service is very professional (got us out on time for a performance without feeling rushed), wine list more than adequate. Prices were on the high side for more frequent visits, but the food quality and presentation were worth it! Each meal was delectable, refined Italian flavors and properly cooked, fish to meat. The wife and I wanted to relax and talk, however they initially kept asking us for our dinner order a bit too much. The only negative thing to really state, was the tight quarters. My chair was actually touching the chair of the other person behind me the entire night. Regardless of the tight quarters, I would absolutely go back. The food is spectacular (always try the specials!) and portions are generous. Make sure to save room for dessert! They're all divine, especially the tartuffo. The food was delicious. Decor was magnificent. You definitely did not feel like you were dining in the city. My wife and I arrived slightly before 5pm and there were about 8 tables taken. By the time we were half-way through our meal, the entire restaurant was packed! Service was a little slow at the end likely due to the full-house, but that did not take away from an overall great time. I ordered a meal that listed specific ingredients in it so I was surprised when it came out with onions in it. I let them know that I had to pick them out and would have asked for htem to be left off the meal had I known that they were included.They took off my meal from the blll even though we said that wasn't necessary. overall they aim to please and were very attentive.
